Ok, I tried putting up with it, but these menus is absurdly confusing

This is insane, I should not be playing hunt for items still because of these confusing menus. I rather have everything in one tab before dealing with this. There is no back one page feature in the game, dealing with shop menus is infuriating in this game, and this cranks that problem up to 11.

"red scripts 51" red scripts 60" makes NO SENSE AT ALL where is the matiera? where do I go for folklore tokens? folklore tokens is more of a 70 item its UUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yeah, I definitely think some condensing could be done here. All scripts of one type only need one menu, maybe with tabs for the different level categories. If even.

I would rather have crafting and gathering be at different NPCs, then be broken down from there. The reason for this has to do with this:

There been many times I bought the wrong things/gone to the wrong menu, just because of crafting and gathering using the same currency. (yellow script/ red script or back when blue scripts existed) Even if I stare at it and go slowly, I mix up the names and pick the wrong thing.

ORrrr, have everything 1 NPC, one menu, then have "gathering" tab, "crafting tab"

I am not sure what the best way of doing things would be, but currently it is done the worst way possible.

All I want for starters is a 'back one level function' with current menu i was in staying highlighted/selected .
So i can at least go through the menus one at a time , till i find what i am looking for.

This! I don't mind multiple menus, I just want to be able to go BACK instead of initiating the whole thing over again.

Yes. Also, all of the scrip NPCs should carry the same stock instead of forcing me to find the right NPC and the right menu option and then the right tab for the item I need. Then, in the case of books, restarting the process again to actually buy the secondary item I need using the items I obtained from scrips. Argh!

I believe I commented on this in my FC yesterday, or at least something similar.

Namely how you have to fiddle with three different NPC's to buy a creation weapon, 4 if you augment it.

First NPC for the 10 creation tokens.
Second NPC to turn in the 7 crystalloids (skipped if you do savage and get the item in V2S).
Third npc to actually buy the weapon in its own category (not even the creation armor npc).
Fourth npc to augment the item.

I think the best way is to have different NPC, 1 for yellow scrips and the other for red scrips.

Now that I think about it Heavensward actually had it mildly worse. You had to run halfway across town to actually augment the item. The npcs in Stormblood are at least in the same spot.

Rather than a "back one level function", I think a tab or filter function would be better. Just put everything in one window and let us click different tabs or pre-defined filters to see different categories.

Yes it was, HW drove me nuts because you had to run to one NPC to see what item was required, run back to make sure.. idk but i had to spend 10-20 mins at times trying to upgrade something when I was newer...

WHY DO THEY SET UP THINGS like that?!?!?!?!

Not sure how it would work exactly, but I wouldn't mind these types of NPCs to have menus similar to the Armoire where you can just tab between the categories rather than having to leave the actual menu to go in to another one.

And ARR (actually ARR was worse, because I believe you had to go to gerolt in North shroud in order to upgrade)

It really seems to me whoever implemented the menus aren't playing this game, or aren't playing any MMOs at all, if the person is even a gamer. In fact, I can't fathom how anyone who's being paid for doing this as a profession can implement something like this and feel good about it. I would be ashamed and be spamming internal email requests to the programming team for the proper UI widgets.

It would be nice if each NPC is responsible for one currency, and no menus are involved at all. The dialog box is a multi-tab interface, with first and foremost job/class tabs along the top. Once I've selected a job/class, the tab panel shows a list of itemlevel buttons along the left, and once I've chosen my itemlevel, the avaialble items for exchange are listed. And list the relevant augmentation items along with the applicable gear.

So I can specify "I want to get Creation gear (choose NPC) for my PLD (choose top tab) and I want itemlevel 330 stuff", and the list would show in this order the roborant, sword, shield, twine, head, body, hands, legs, feet, glaze, waist, ear, neck, wrist, finger.

Same structure can be used for the augmentation.

There is way too many menus. They do need to condence these, badly. There is really no reason for them to be seperate. Everything that uses red should be in 1 menu and everything that uses yellow should be in 1 menu.

I don't always agree with this particular poster...

But this is one of those times where I definitely do. I'm always clicking on the wrong option (at least in terms of which section of scrip stuff) with this stuff.

Personally I'd like tabs in the style of the GC Quartermaster stuff - the stuff is immediately viewable, the category is clear, and you can switch between options.

Sorta related but for the new crafting weekly, the material shop is across the map and a bit confusing it is that far away from the hand in spot, like how HW is for battle gear.

Why are all these menus and NPC placement majorly inconvenient?

because the trader npcs dont sit at the same table as the leadership for the resistance :)

You can’t really complain about menu problems like this when you consider where we have come from (1.0).

it's not an excuse. the menus thing is a problem but not having mats right next M'naago or Zhloe is not a problem. they're already selling you pre-built mats in the same zone and you can see what they want every week from your timers menu without going to the turn in NPC.

I get where you're coming from OP, I really do. The menus could at least be a bit more descriptive or have common categories lumped together (Tools/Gear, Mats, Tokens, etc), but as they are right now isn't as bad as you're making it out. They're clearly separated by what you would need or have use for based on level. The only confusing bit would be mats obtained from the various scrips pre-70 but by then I would imagine you would have a decent grasp on the level range of your mats. It's a minor issue at worst and could use some tweaking but that's about it

thats entirely subjective :P , wich dosnt mean im not open for improvements , but its not that bad like u make it sound all the time ^^ plus every new patch where u have changes requires u to learn new stuff from scratch again.

The game has always been menu happy to a point where its almost stupid... The script menus could use a lot of improvement.

I think this is a great idea, +1 to that suggestion. I'd like to see that extended to the crafting/gathering menus as well, i.e. using your example, sort/list items for PLD, iLvl range 330 (in the gathering menus, it would list all the mats required).
