Please respond with a simple yes or no answer.
Would you PVP more than one match every day or two if you got zero XP from it.
I expect a couple people might even say yes.

Nope.
Can't even be bothered to do it with the nerfed xp, much less removed.
having exp in pvp didn't ruin it, pvp always and bots/afk'ers/ win trading.
only way to "fix it" is remove all rewards, but then no one would do it at all. People don't want to play something and get 0 reward.
Just to add my vote, I would definitely not bother with pvp if there was no XP in it. Maybe MAYBE once in a blue moon if I was really bored, and that's assuming I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes in a queue..
Yes. I don't pvp for exp or any of the pve rewards. I do it for the feast rankings (of this season I've been lazy).
Yes. I had over 1000 matches played before they added xp. Now it is just infested with bots and people who don't try so I don't pvp much anymore.
Yes. Exp didn't ruin it, people do (and their afkers, bots).
No. I have average 200-300 matches per month (7-10 matches/day). Compare that to the bots 1000+ on September.
Granted it takes 1-2h for queue to pop but before SB was still fun even on 24 (8v8v8). Now it felt more like 2 vs 22, amplified on 72.
Yes I would.
I pvp for garo stuff and light farming. xp is easier to get in levelling dungeons and roulettes
Probably not anymore. Not as it currently is composed of bots. I would if I still had things I wanted for wolf marks but I never found it entertaining enough in and of itself to queue for it. I only played for the rewards (and yes I actually tried to fulfill objectives) and since there's nothing new for me Im only queuing for XP atm.
It was rare to run across bots prior to them adding xp. There was an occasional one when GARO came out, but we all knew who they were and booted them each match. It also never felt like there were this many lazy players ignoring objectives. Now it's mostly just bots and people afking for xp.
I don't PvP anymore specifically because of how infested it is with bots right now.
Since I'm done with Garo and have the one pvp mount (outside of the campaign) I wanted for my Mch, I barely use Shatter for exp and relic light as it is. Eliminate one or both of either, and I would never touch pvp again. Too many people whose ideas of pvp content is to run aimlessly and lick one another's butthole while other teams beat up on them, too many issues with latency or with targeting of any kind going for everything BUT the one person or object I'm trying to aim for, and limited rewards as it is.
Triple the light or better, while keeping the exp the same (even for third place), and I might pick up drinking again just to use Frontline to finish my last six animas as quickly as possible, but that wouldn't last very long even then. Once the relics are done, regardless of whether I'm done with the exp or not, I'll probably be finished with this game's pv--
***Announcing a new campaign! Do PVP at least once a day for 47 days out of the next 50 days, starting the day before yesterday, and this flying Tonberry is yours!*** (pictured, a large tonberry flapping its arms with a cartoonishly big chef's knife in each hand, and the lantern carried in its mouth)
--p... Damn it, SE! >_<
.
(Note: To those unable to tell, that last part was a joke)
Yes.
But without EXP, I'd start running out of rewards to get, so it'd either need a boost in tomes or we'd need annual rounds of new vanity goodies and Garo-like events.
I hadn't noticed bots hardly at all until I turned on Freelancer, and suddenly half of the Flames alliance was just scooting around together, following a few real players like a big sad convoy of laziness.
It makes me wonder if the new mode will make this much harder. I know you never see modes outside of Shatter from how easy it is to make bots farm it. I'm about to manually queue up seal rock to start farming the gear from it.
I'm not a fan of PvP in this game in it's current form so the answer is NO. The XP nerf harmed it more than helped it and completely removing XP would kill it completely except for those hard core pvp ppl that like it for some reason, but then they wouldn't have anyone else to play with besides bots sooooo...
I would as I find PvP more fun than DR Expert so I use it to cap tomes along with DR Trials. However, if it doesn't pop coz people don't queue for it, I wouldn't be able to do it even if I wanted to.
Nope.

yes, pvp should just be about people that want to actually do the content and not people that just want free exp
Yeah, I enjoy having to go up against other different players rather than run the same 2 dungeons or so every day and repeat scripted fights all the time.
Granted, was an avid PvP'er before SB so I'm biased.
I don't PvP as is, but to me, the fact you got anything in PvP which benefitted PvE (E.G. tomes, XP, etc) baffled me. I always thought PvP and PvE should be totally separate entities, with no interlinking between each other (except for the fact you play on the same character, and have to do the PvE MSQ to get the quest to unlock PvP).
PvP combat is far superior to PvE combat imo. I have way more fun in PvP ...when Im not surrounded by fools who insult others for enjoyment.
Yes I would still do it, also why this in general section /think
Even without exp there's achievement rewards and tomes win or lose. It's also dynamic content where no two matches are the same, unlike the heavily scripted pve, all while having no gear damage. Exp simply made it so I could still pvp while in the levelling process without it feeling like wasted time, unlike in heavensward where I had to go on a pvp hiatus until I got all my jobs to 60.
Pffft. No.
Unless Rival Wings is fun that is.
I've seen the Frontline drought, i've lived through the toxic feast chat.
If I'm not getting something out of it by putting up with crap, I ain't going.
Achievements are a small bonus, like that 200 damn wins for the airship in feast, that's just a nightmare with how healer dependent that is.
No, I love the experience from pvp. It is more fun to me then running dungeons all the time. If the devs would que up around 5-6 a.m. EST one day, they can ban most of the bot population. That is the only thing that sucks, I never que in the morning anymore before work because of that. But even after having most of the awards from Feast and Frontlines I still love leveling my alts through pvp.
Well I did grind my Anima condensation out there just recently, so, uh... technically yes?
It's my go-to place to grind things I'd otherwise have to join dungeons with long queues or worse, make a party finder for.
That aside, no, I wouldn't join it just for fun because it just isn't. Trinity PvP rarely is. I go to other games that are better designed for PvP if I just want to have fun.
It's not the only way. A way to fix it is if SE implemented Personal Leagues where players who actually wanted to challenge one another could join up and gain enough clout to be recognized by SE as "Official Leagues".
They seem to want to add a function for Feast where you Register your Party of 4, so why not try and do something similar with the other forms of PVP?
If you want to get more people into PVP or at least have the right competitive people partake in it, you need a form of Leadership that allows one to easily vet out and have those who are interested in competition join in the League.
While not a perfect system it would be a step in the right direction to provide a means of weeding out afkers.
i would'nt have gone trough the trouble of getting 200 frontlines wins if there was no XP.
I probably would yes
I haven't PvPed much since the start of SB, and not because of the "revamp"
Adding PvP to Frontlines just causes people to AFK or bot and not care about actually winning, how the hell am I supposed to get the 60 win GARO mount from this?
Adding to that: Feast. Solo queue only? Especially with no chat? Again, how the hell am I supposed to get the 60 win mount from this?
I feel like SE's made some bad directions concerning PvP. I get that 14's a PvE centric game and PvP is more of an afterthought, but the way SE has done things is really turning me off from PvP. I largely blame Exp for my lack of interest in running Frontlines... People just want the easy way
Probably not, as I am one of the few people who dislike the new pvp changes and as main healer who enjoys healing by far the most in this game I feel like a lp-battery for everyone else. I'm not saying the changes are bad though, I know many people enjoy them, I would just personally not do any pvp with them if i didn't get xp.
I never did PvP for the experience points, so if they removed it, I would still play.
Botting and afking became rampant and to some degrees, accepted/tolerated once XP was offered. Before that, we played to win. We WANTED to win. Not for XP, not even for tomes. We were competitors in a competitive game mode. We wanted to win. That was the whole point of competing, not just quick-stop XP.
So yes, I would, because I DID. And I enjoyed it more then. As it stands, I still prefer to PvP on my already 70 main, so I'm not getting XP out of it anyways.
Yes, I would. I played quite a bit of Feast and Frontlines prior to Stormblood and only stopped because I've heard (and seen) nothing but bots or people who clearly don't give a hoot about winning. PvP was fine after they finally abandoned GC restrictions.
nope. I only do it for the glamour. The exp nerf was super lame, I didn't take advantage of it when it was good. :(
I dont really care about XP. Sure it would nice level my classes with 8v8 or Frontlines. But running dungeons is way more effective. Besides of that, i would pvp more often, when it would be more fun.
I pvp'd more with garo and stuff....now that i have what i want, if they removed it?
No.
It's been really nice to level dps with.
It was nice for awhile to get people to play Frontlines. The bad thing though (from what I saw) is that people just joined and either afked or didn't care to try/win. But even worse now, the botting is just ridiculous. I would vote to remove exp completely and bring back the competitive spirit.
I would do PvP without any EXP if they would change it back to the PvP system from HW.
exp is a nice thing it makes the leveling process so much easier however it does not belong in PvP a content that was designed for friendly and fun competition. before they added exp people actually TRIED to win cause the rewards were really nice. but because of the addition of exp people don't give two-shits if they win or lose cause they know they get exp and tomes even if losing. so my answer YES i would play PvP without receiving exp points because prior to 4.0 it was actually fun to play not frustrating as you shout and yell and scream at your team mates to give a shit about receiving a victory.
