Riding Maps removed! Mount Speed Increase Upgrade 2???

I logged in 2 weeks ago and noticed that my GC offered riding maps for 250 allied seals a piece. I read up and found out that they increase your mount speed for each area respectively. So I immediately began hunting.

I upgraded to the Stormblood expansion.

Now I have gone back to my Hunt Billmaster and all of the riding maps are gone!!!!!


So where did they go, and how can I now unlock the level 2 mount speed increase upgrade?

There is like no information out there that I can find.

Somebody please help!

Were you talking to the hunt bill master in your grand company or the one in rhalgr's reach? Because the one in rhalgr's reach is with the hunting clan not the grand company. Riding maps are sold at your grand company for allied seals only.

As I said in my previous post, the hunt bill master in my GC used to sell riding maps... since I upgraded to Stormblood, there are no maps for sale when I GO BACK!

So where did they go? How do I get them?

Or how do I now get the level 2 upgrade for mount speed?

I am very confused and lost.

They should be located on the hunt bill master in the Other category for 250 allied seals each. Make sure to scroll down to the bottom as the maps are to the end of the available item list.

Have you completed the stormblood story?
I didnt see the new maps until after I completed story. You get some mount speed / map upgrades during the story so that might be why? I dont know that for certain though.

No, I haven't even begun it yet. They were there before I upgraded... after I installed the expansion, they disappeared!!!

I saw them before!!!!! Now they are gone!!!! Please read!!!!

Does anybody know where they went to or how to get them now?

So let's be honest for a minute...

All I want to know, is what do I have to do now to get the maps to return back to my GC Hunt Bill Master?



I saw them there before I upgraded under the Other TAB... NOW THEY ARE GONE AFTER SOTRMBLOOD INSTALLATION.



What gives?

This is getting us nowhere, so I'll try a different tactic.

Paste a screenshot. Show us and maybe we can help you.

Probably some sort of patch that prevent it from showed up if you haven't complete the story to certain point or something, I dunno. Screenshot?

Did you happen to switch grand companies or something where you'd need to go to the other gc's npc? The maps are still there for me. As Razard said, a screenshot would help.

Edit (again): Looking it up and someone noted you had to do the Ultimate Weapon quest for them to show up (part of the msq). Have you done that already on the character that's missing the maps on the npc? You don't seem to have the mount rewarded from that quest on the character you're using on the forums, but I don't know if it's the same character you're having issues with.

A Screenshot of the Menu you're looking at, it's common that People take a look into the wrong NPC Menu and go "Whoops".

Screenshot of the page that it supposed to be and you claimed that it disappeared.



After a search on google and stumble upon reddit, it showed that you need to complete a quest called The Ultimate Weapon. Did you complete that quest yet ?

I wish we could buy these maps with Centurio Seals or we were allowed some sort of conversion between the two. Trying to grind Allied Seals is a pain in the neck even with Hunt LS. Hardly anybody ever calls out old hunts. They just kill them on the spot and move on :/

as far as i know there's only one map for each area and you already have them.

OP word of advice if you are asking for help last thing you do is scream like a little baby and questioning those who wants to help you and make it harder for them as if they are a bunch of innepst. so take it slow stop typing every

from eachother and just try to understand what they are trying to comunicate with you, wihtout trowing a tantrum. Like people said you probably are looking at the wrong npc so just take a screenshot of what is that you are alooking at to see if you are in the right place.

To be fair, I can understand why OP was getting frustrated. They're saying the maps aren't in the menu where they used to be, and people just keep saying to check that same menu, when OP already told them that they're not there anymore.

To be fair, he could be hitting the wrong tab. He won't screenshot.

OP, please do what others have already asked and provide a screenshot of what you are (wrongly) doing.

Doesn't listen to any advice or comply getting issue resolved...

I checked on my alt with Stormblood access, but hasn't started it, and they are all available to purchase, from the OTHERS Tab.

This may or may not help, but I was collecting seals for the HW maps. My hubby was able to purchase the riding maps but I couldn’t find them in the menu. He looked at what I was doing and sure enough I was in the right place. Couldn’t work it out why they weren’t there. Turned out I had to complete HW (I believe prior to the patches, but could be wrong) before the maps showed up. Can’t rightly say why they were showing up and then not showing up for the OP but maybe it’s something he needs to contact a GM about - guess it could be some kind of bug perhaps?

Look op not coming back. He either gave up troll attempt or went to get screenshot and realized they were there all along and is now too embarrassed to come back.

First and foremost, my apologies to the forum as I was attempting to refrain from typing things over and over again. When you say you tried something and everyone tells you to try it again, or people just plain don't read your question, it does get frustrating.
So again, my apologies. I meant no disrespect to the members of the forum or those that are looking for answers. It is my wish that this information helps others.
I hope this thread helps anyone else who is having the same problem. I am not the only one.
Here's the thing... I have taken my time going through the game. I was a tester back in the prerelease days. So I have been at it for a long time. I read the patch notes and try to really have fun with the game.
I upgraded to HW because I wanted to continue upgrading my gathering and crafting classes while I take my time finishing the MSQ. That is same reason I recently upgraded to Stormblood. I like those classes a lot and seem to upgrade them way faster.

I am the guy who does all of the side quest stuff first and plays the game last. Backwards I know.
I have not completed the Ultimate Weapon quest as of yet. So this may be the reason the maps aren't available to me as of now; however, they were there 2 weeks ago before I upgraded to Stormblood. I am 100% positive and here is why.
I know they were there because I started the Yo Kai Watch event and realized everyone was faster than I was. By a HUGE AMOUNT! By the time I made it to the next FATE, everyone else was already there and the FATE was 75% over. Very hard to get a Yo Kai Medal when you can't get a gold or silver medal in the FATE. As a matter of fact without that prerequisite, you can't get one at all! So this was "extremely FRUSTRATING"!

So I looked into mount speed increases. I saw that my mount speed had increased for only certain areas. That compelled me to move a little further along in the story. After I did the Stone Vigil, I saw that the speed was increased for Coerthas. Eventually I got almost all of the places with 1 star. That is what caused me to search for where to get the 2 star increase. People were still faster than I was.
Finally I was at my Grand Company when I checked the Hunt Bill Master's "Other" section and saw all of the maps. Each one of them for 250 allied seals. That is precisely the moment I said to myself , "I need to start hunting." So I did!

During that time I upgraded to Stormblood. Again, I wanted to open up the level cap for my gathering and crafting classes in case I hit it prior to engaging HW. While at the Grand Company turning in some dungeon gear I decided to hit up the Hunt Bill Master and noticed that in the exact same place where all of the maps were before, they were now gone. I only have one item under the "Other" section. The maps are all gone.
I went crazy looking for information as to their whereabouts. But alas, I found nothing! That is when I came here. The maps were no longer available to me.

So from this conversation I can assume two things.
1. It is possible that since I have really taken my time and have upgraded in a weird way, that the maps somehow were shown to me early on. Perhaps a patch update that met certain conditions to allow the maps to be visible to me due to order of operations or some kind of logic that was not intentional. Remember, I upgraded to HW when it came out, but never completed the MSQ. This may be the reason I was able to see them. I patched and patched since then too. So, who knows?
2. The upgrade to Stormblood somehow reset this and now I have to complete the Ultimate Weapon quest to re-unlock it. This is an assumption of course. I have no way of knowing for sure.

I am like 3 quests away. I am not the only person that this has happened to. I have spoken to at least two other people with the same issue. Another person on this thread has encountered it as well. So I am not alone.
I will attempt to complete those quests tonight. If successful, then I'll check the Hunt Bill Master at the Grand Company and see if the maps are back.
I will report back to you all when I find out.

No, I'm quite sure OP is going there already, his theory is very possible, being able to see the upgrades ahead of time could have been unintended, we'd have to wait and see if finishing the ultimate weapon will unlock them. I think you'd also need to do this quest OP https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Let_the_Hunt_Begin it will appear when you reach 2nd lieutenant in your GC

I understand how frustrating this might be, but I still don’t get it why OP so vehemently doesn’t post a screenshot. It might be easier to spot what’s wrong

This seems to be the correct answer, the only allied seals list which has only 1 item under 'Other' is 'Allied Seals (GC name here)', with the maps being listed under 'Allied Seals (Other)' option

It does appear that the map issue is quest based. I just got an alt to 50 and went and checked the Maelstrom Billmaster. The alt did the quest to open the hunts but is on Rock the Castrum on the MSQ. The maps are not present for him though they are for all my characters that are past the Praetorium part of the MSQ.

The picture shows the tab scrolled to the bottom. So it does appear that the maps are locked out if you are not to the correct part of the MSQ. I do not have a character currently in HW but not finished with the initial MSQ for heavensward to see if the same applies to the Centurio Seal maps. My guess is that those may also have MSQ pre-reqs. As to why the op could initially see it and now can't I would attribute to one of the patches fixing the bug that let him see them before he hit the MSQ requirement for ARR.

You are quite welcome. But seriously, playing this game for 4+ years (he didn't state if he been taking long periods of breaks) and still havn't beaten 2.0 again base game before any patches.
