I thought it would be cool if healers could have some combos too when they do their cure spells.
Maybe the additional effect could be something like regen or stoneskin.

That would be pretty nice, great idea!
I concur.

So you'd have to spend hundreds of mp only to get a regen effect you should have as a spell right next to your cures.
And I really don't think any healer should start playing with combos while healing on a endgame fight. They got others things to focus on.
So hmmm, no thanks.
If they reworked the spells a bit, this could make healing more interesting and fun.
+1 for this. Anything that adds to the dynamic of the game in a positive manner and take advantage of the combo system at hand.
Yea I agree that currently there is not enough healing spells in the game to merit using them in combos, it would only get used during times that the tank is getting a lot of damage.
So they need to add more healing types of spells in the game first. When they do though, combos would be welcome on healing magic as well imo.
Either that, or reduce the MP cost for spells during combos like thaumaturges have been saying ...
I think it is a spectacular idea. As a matter of fact, I would like to see a specialty combo for each job that has an effect thats relative to the job. As the OP meantioned, a heal combo for healers. Perhaps a buff combo for bards? I guess the tank classes already have an hate/aggro combo.....anyway, I like the combos, and to see them more job related is a great idea.
I might be one of the few to not agree with this.
That would make combat way to annoying when you have healers trying to combo healing all the time, getting too much enmity or to get the HoT effect like the other guy was saying. Healing was never fun, you'll always be someones heal slave.
Could make the combo effect seriously reduced enmity on the cure spell.
Focusing on healing combos could save mp in a fight if perhaps the combo would reduce mp and cause regen, or something. Also, if using cure would lead into a combo with cura that could be curing two players, one for a little and another player for a lot. Or if it cut down casting time in a combo for a quick-saving-the-fight kind of heal. It could make players think more tactically with heals, but I agree that more healing spells in game could help merit this idea.
Heaven forbid healing be fun.
I don't think the cures should be combo'd personally because like Blizzara they are meant to be reactionary rather than premeditated and set up, so to speak.
If healing combos do become a thing, though, I would like seeing combos with Cure > Regen and/or Stoneskin, or Vice-versa. With Cure > Regen/Stoneskin, the 2nd spell's potency would be enhanced or its duration increased. If it was setup as Stoneskin/Regen > Cure, when cure landed it could "refresh" the previous spell if it was still active, essentially giving you up to 10 more seconds of regen or a few more hits of Stoneskin.
Exactly. Healing is meant to be done with good judgement and timing. I only see cure combos benefiting those who already just spam cure on the tank or whoever it is they are healing. Although the thought of buff combos is interesting. Stoneskin > Protect for duration effect would be nice.
It's true, healing itself is boring, but CNJ have other dynamics to work with that it really isn't all that boring if you utilize them. Aeros bleed effect, Stones magic evasion down also they're ability to manage MP well. Do all these along with buffing and healing the party and I bet you wouldn't care as much about comboing your heals.
