Once again, devs and reps, we'd love your input on this one. It's not as pressing a matter as balancing, but I see potential for both improvement and increased activity.
Let's talk about the Materia Provisioner at the Wolves' Den. The poor man's been working hard these last few years with such a limited and unwanted inventory of wares. . .
It's time for change!
Let's change him up, maybe move him out of the ship and into a nice new stall somewhere more visible at the Den. How about a name change too? "The Quartermaster" or "The Boatswain"; something cool and naval sounding.
As for his inventory, it's time we expand his operations. We could do something as simple as foods, dyes, glamour prisms, standard materias (grades 4-6 at least), maybe even relic items (when the time comes), or we could think BIG and go with more endgame flair! How about Claws/Fangs banners for housing? Replica Allagan/Icebound Tomeliths for ourdoor furnishings? Tabletop/wall mounted maps of the Frontlines maps for decoration? We could even go bigger and look into challenge-based rewards, i.e. "deal/heal over x amount of damage/HP in a Frontlines or Feast match", "achieve a Battle High/Battle Fever", "successfully hold an A/S rank node in Seize to completion without it being deactivated/captured by the enemy", or "mitigate x amount of damage as a tank/healer in the Feast". Or even special emotes like. . . /step (like you-know-who), /carry (for those matches you really put your back into), or /salt (for good, sportsman like taunting, lol). All this for wolf marks, or tomestones, or Feast tickets (relative to the difficulty, of course).
At this time when many are getting into PvP just for the XP, why not give players more incentives in the form of rewards that (should) drive them to learn more, play better, and obtain some nice spoils. And for the endgamers, making PvP a proper endgame alternative activity for their needs. I'm not saying offer everything, but a little more could certainly go a long way.
I could think up ideas all day, but the poor Materia Provisioner probably has a wife and kids, and he's barely getting by these days with the cheerleader minion and some faded copies of orchestrion rolls. It's time we do right by him. What do you say?

He definitely needs a name change. Who would want to buy from a guy whose name is currently a lie? I'm also a bit surprised he doesn't sell the fireworks you find in Palace of the Dead that show your allegiance with a Grand Company. I would be cool if he also sold Striking Dummies based on items in front lines, like a giant crystal or allagan node.

As much as I like the normalization of stats/gear, I do wish we had some depth based on items in PvP. I actually liked the concept of Morale, it made gearing in PvP feel rewarding. I know that if the system functioned that way people without gear and such would be at a massive disadvantage like PvP vs PvE geared players in WoW, but I would like a system that can find a decent balance. Working for PvP gear always felt good once you finally got it, to me.

They definitely need to do more with his inventory. A name change is necessary too--since he doesn't sell them anymore. I'm totally behind having him sell furnishings, minions, mounts, and whatever--some people just haves maxed Wolf Marks and would probably love to spend them. PvP in housing yards sounds great too.

More things to spend marks on and a rename please! I really like the striking dummy idea, and materia idea. Perhaps a ship in a bottle furnishing of our area?
Also though not related could we possibly get a marketboard added? mount functionality?More reasons to stay in the den? -

Definitely support this thread. It feels dumb that the best sink for Marks at the moment is old gear that you then have to waste time turning into a usable form (cash), and I feel sorry for that Materia vendor every time I pass by. And it's ridiculously easy to fill up on Marks now the game throws so many at you.
I'm not overly keen on having many additional rewards exclusive to the Feast as it's currently a bit of a trainwreck in many ways and overly punitive on newbies getting started (for everyone, as nobody likes having a newbie healer sabotaging their ranked matches either). The skill-based challenges sound good fun though and you've clearly thought them through.
They still have PVP ranks too, right? If it's just for silly things, why not have some purchases gated like at the POTD vendor; again, it's easier than ever to climb the ranks so why have them if they serve no purpose? -

For the items, I definitely say make them untradable, so as not to make them yet more market board fodder (my one exception would be the cheerleader. I'd like to gift that to a few friends sometimes.)
Beyond that, The Wolves' Den could use a lot of updating really. All those liquor bottles and no tavern/galley anywhere. . ., maybe some random NPC appearances might be nice (after all, lore-wise this doubles as GC combat training), and. . . hell, why not throw a tabletop Orchestrion in there somewhere?(Not super important, but why not?)
I do like Mofafafa's idea of a "PvP Finder" NPC (and I would imagine something like that would be helpful for the coming cross server systems). Those Claws/Fangs rugs in the starting areas in Lichenweed? Do. Want. SE could do a lot with simplistic Claws/Fangs gear/furnishings, honestly.

1. Allow us to desynthesize the new PvP gear. Since PvP gear has always been added at max level, I guess the desynthesis level would be 290 or 300. Would be a great way to get some endgame material to sell.
2. Make the shout chat channel cross-server while you are at the Wolves' Den Pier. That way you can organize some custom matches and practice for 4v4. -

I know this old but I didn't want to start a new thread. We do need better rewards for the wolves den. I don't like the idea of one time rewards, once you have them you stop grinding for them. Instead I'd like to see furnishing recipes and house templates (like the chocobo house but wolves den). Let us buy crafting mats to sell. We need more consumables too. We can use potions in frontlines, maybe start selling some for wolf marks. Gear was great for desynth, both for leveling and selling the mats, maybe bring that back. The squadron lets you get individual company buffs, maybe add a wolf mark and xp gained from pvp. Maybe mats for frontline specific food that grants the effect of one of the pvp traits again for frontlines. You could also let us buy the mats from the one-hour nodes like dark steel and grade 3 soil. Nothing feast breaking but gives players a reason to keep coming back and opens up a new market.
