Seal Rock - non existant

I don't understand why seal rock is so empty and vacant. I want to earn the field commander's coat but I only have 8 wins. As I'm posting this thread, I've been in queue for 175+ minutes. I guess the reason why I'm posting a thread is to have some attention be brought to this problem.

Does everyone hate seal rock that much or is it easier for bots to hit ice than standing in a circle?

it's just older content. shatter easier to spam/exploit.

They are thinking something. I don't know if it starts next major patch but it might. Yoshida said it's looking like they will rotate bonus periods, like there could be a Seal Rock week/day or a Borderland Ruins week/day where you're encouraged to do that particular thing during that reward window. Seal Rock is the best pvp map too so I would like people to go there. Fields of Glory is ok but it had a negative impact by killing off better modes.

A few weekends ago, I got people to actively queue for Seal Rock by simply making a forum post and spreading the word for people to queue for Secure/Seize (I specifically said "No Shatter"), and we had a pretty good turnout, even with me having to work most of that day.

Who dares, wins. Put the word out, get people to make the effort and follow through, and you can make anything you want pop. That's all it takes.

Back in 3.0, I usually get Seal Rock and Borderlands on weekends. We need people to do that, take a break from leveling for once.

I think the other PvP modes will see activity soon, they've said multiple times that they are working on a solution. Now if that solution works however.. we will see.
Hope fully next patch won't be "only the new mode", and the other ones will see some love.

I don't think people hate Seal Rock. It's just that people, understandably, want the shortest queue times possible and when the majority only queue for Shatter, why bother with the other modes. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of people doing Frontline are unaware that you get 50 verity and 20 creation daily from queuing with the roulette in addition to what you get from the maps by themselves. You would think that with those incentives, you would get Seal Rock or Borderland Ruins once in a while but no, 2+ hours of queuing and no pop. (See sig)

I think the only solution that would work if they only have one map available in a rotation system, essentially forcing people to queue for something other than Shatter. Even if all three maps are available and one map has a EXP bonus on weekly basis, I still think Shatter would be the most active map/mode since it's easier for people to bot.

It sucks cause they actually updated Seal Rock and the other mode to be 72-man like Shatter and there were queues at the beginning of 4.0 till those ppl farming XP realized how brain dead easy it was just to sit in shatter.

I'm with you man I've been trying to get the Field Commanders coat for ages but seal rock queues are as dead as CT queues in 4.0

All the frontlines maps are 72 since release but the queue can dynamically switch to 24 if there aren't enough people available. When HW released there was loads of fast pop 72 Seal Rock matches and it was a good time.

Actually had a few 72 Borderland matches after SB released which I hadn't seen for a few years but it quickly depleted back down to 24 or no pop. Just takes a lot of people to be playing and giving the older maps a chance.

Let me correct a few things:

All Frontlines maps have always been capable of 24 or 72 player options. There was once even a 48, but that was removed quite a while ago.
Secure (and the Deathmatch style Slaughter) sat dead at lv 50 for all of Heavensward, and Seal Rock - while arguably the best mode - was later outdated with Shatter. In order to ensure Secure (Slaughter was just removed, sadly) didn't stay dead at 50, and neither Seal Rock or Shatter would die at 60, they simply lifted the level restrictions of both.
I've said it and proved it many times before, but "People only queue for Shatter because people only queue for Shatter." If players made efforts together to actively queue Secure or Seize, they can and have made it happen.

Those maps are leveling too, it's the same rewards as shatter / fields of glory. They all give the same amount of progress, just different choices. Endgame tomes when played as a lv70 job or class exp as an uncap job.

And still even today i think they should have removed 72 instead 48 and prime example is that now the upcoming map will be 48 so i think they finally learned that it is the sweet spot size for modes like FL(i still have my worries about that new mode due that "mecha" thingy, i really don't like turrets and tanks in pvp, it feels like build in cheating system).

I got on the forums today to make this very same post, I'm glad I'm not alone. Everyone just queues for Frontlines Roulette I imagine but to never have any variety kinda makes PvP not as much fun. Personally I feel Seal Rock is their best PvP mode and with the new pvp system the ARR Frontlines PvP modes could be added into the mix as well. I'd love to see the mix instead of more sad depressing snow. Should we post something about the lack of variety in the gen discussions forum so it gains more traction/eyes?

I do miss Seal Rock. I have the outfit and mount, but still don't have all the achievements.

pretty simple really, the bots are clearly made to do shatter so it only queues for shatter.

if your maelstrom you get enough people to build a team without freelancers so you wouldn't see it most likely but the huge amount of bots spamming shatter all day every day as freelancers will be eating up almost all of the people doing roulette. The game is very likely coded to fill out games that are closest to ready so 1 person queued for X is not going to get priority over 8 bots queued for Y

The bot behavior is so completely obvious too, they go to the same exact spot every single game and just sit there twitching back and forth until something that can be targeted runs by and they follow it. If S-E mass banned them it would very likely result in things evening out a lot
You can't even boot them from games because the other bots won't cast votes >_<

the bots going to seal rock really isn't an issue, The program they use is very obviously designed for shatter only.
It is kind of funny though, late last night i got a game in shatter and was literally the only actual player in it
Should have taken pictures: all 3 bases a single color, crystals lit up all over the map, and 3 teams just standing at the bottom of the base ramps
