Purple Aether > Save my daughter!

I found this purple aether in grid airport.
Took us to Mistbeard Cove where the girls says please saveme..
Accepted the duty but nothing happens..

NVM after 5 mins a battle started. 3 men spawned.. Killed and now waiting a little more

Don't worry little girl, I'll save you!

After a few waves a priest spawned and we got some potions.. I think this is the new imperial battle but its for dalamud attackers

Any information on where the purple node appears, is it by the airship docks or behind the counter ?

The Purple Aether also spawned in Ul'dah at the very south end of the Sapphire Avenue Exchange. Though by the time I got there the aether stream despawned :/

Wait! I'm confused, the last time I played was last year (joke, get it?) and now purple magic lights are appearing in the cities?

Is this some kind of seasonal event or what?

Edit: Aether was in uldah when I logged on took me to mistbeard cove, talked to the NPC in there and was bound by duty.

After awhile the mobs poped, seemed to all be MRDs in waves until the Lunatic Priest poped which was the last.

Chest poped at the end which you do not need to be in a party to open, got some deaspected crystals, Muscle restoritive and maddening potion.

Also, are the 3 reporters still around? Do they go to cities anymore? Is there an achievement for meeting/doing so?

The one is Grid said L45 when accepted. Addision shouts about saving his daughter. It's located on the bottom floor next to the Roe and Lala when u come down the steps. You step inside the node talk to the daughter.. kill abunch of them then a mage pops kill the mage and then a chest pops

How do you get those ones?

You find one of the reporter GMs and have him trade you a Magicked Prism, then use it.

Damn, I also want those Magicked Prisms too xD you just need to meet one of the reporters to get this? Does that mean we can get 3 in total ?

I have both Mistbeard and Sil'Dih Aqueducts achievements. I can confirm that the events can begin from the same city, even from the same npc, like for me it was via Alfgar in Ul'dah both times. There is a chance the npc will pop at the top of the hour, he will shout 8 times. after the 8th shout, the aetherite disappears and whoever poked it will begin the live event. The purple aetherial gate is near the far southeast end of the main hall circling the city, just past the final road intersection.

Funky bug I noticed in mistbeard: after the event they let you stay there, and I tried to fish off the now accessable western docks that point into the ocean outlet.

Grade 5.... Fresh water?!
Lol there was even a school of fish off the southern docks, but found nothing special out of it. Just Blindfish, normal & crimson crayfish.

Edit: Is there any confirmation of others, or is it just the two "escape from" events?

The ponds in the center of the map I can understand logic in fresh water... but not the now accessable opening to the western ocean, that by any logic SHOULD be salt water, lol.

Last time I met a reporter nobody got nothing, he just appeared a few people tried actually talking to him.

But he seemed to ditch because of all the /snowballs and didn't give anyone jack not even the lodestone thing.

Same thing happened here actually, but without the /snowballs. A few people, myself included, tried to actually humor the reporter and give them the info they wanted. They were eventually just like "Oh, look at the time! Gotta go, cya."

Also events like these are kinda cool and all but it also leaves out a great deal of the players. I mean if you're not there right when these aether or GMs pop, you won't get to participate. It favors those who just sit and camp the cities.

I agree I wish I got to see more ingame GM's(or any at all.) I liked how that one used to appear at camps and cast spells on you

Anyone found a pattern about their appearance? Which time of the day? All three cities at the same time or one at a time?

Edit: Hopefully we get more infos on this, I don't want to be left out of story progression since it's one-time only until 2.0. :s

I've been looking out for it til 2PM EST in Ul'dah. No pop yet. :/
