So basically, at the end of the effect, you get a short buff that allows you to bring your pet back instantly. As an added bonus, you'll have at least 80 Faerie Gauge (30 accrue from the 3 AF stacks you used while you were under Dissipation, as it builds invisibly even when no pet is summoned), plus the 50 granted by the Fey Grace.

Sounds perfect to me. The 4.0 changes had me put my SCH on the high shelf, but after they fixed some things, I pulled her back out and did some 60 dungeons and deliberately use dissipate. Afterwards, my suggestion was going to be nearly identical to yours. Only difference was a reduced MP cost instead of zero.

I hate, HATE having to burn up a swiftcast to resummon.

I think it should be changed so it still grants 3 aetherflow but instead of giving 20% healing (which doesn't synergize with aetherflow stacks at all) it should instantly swap your fairy without resetting the fairy gauge, so if you have Selene out and use dissipation it will swap her with eos.

This would synergize a lot better with SCH as it is in stormblood and give us a move to instantly change fairy which would be a lot less situational than a 20% healing buff. And probably lead to dissipation being used a lot more frequently for the extra aetherflow and to access the other fairies abilities without resetting the gauge.

I don't know about that very last one, but yeah that instant resummon without having to burn is what is needed to turn Dissipation around.

Pretty similar to what I've been suggesting forever now...

Aetherflow spent while in dissipation will fill fairy gauge at a rate of 20 instead of 10. Using aetherflow outside of a fairy summoned or dissipation will have no effect on the gauge.

my version of dissipation.

orders your pet away for 20 seconds and gain a full stack of aetherflow. For 20 seconds your aetherflow abilities that restore HP grants a shield equal to X% of the amount healed.

this will make us the TRUE shield healers

NOCT AST have their aspected Helios spam and light speed while SCH have deploy and dissipation. they can balance it around it's long cooldown and the trade off of losing your fairy for 20s and having to resummom it again and spend swiftcast/mp

I think any change to dissipation would need a nerf to somewhere else unless they were to buff WHM at the same time, since SCH is in such a strong position atm. We definitely need some QoL changes for dissipation and a few other things, but I also don't want WHM to be completely shut out except for the first week or so of progression.

It is true. There is no way they are going to buff Dissipate anymore with the state of SCH is in now, it already got a hidden buff as part of the quickened Aetherflow change.

People like to make ideas and that's cool, but many of these also include traits that could very well warrant taking always taking SCH over the other healers. That is exactly why SCH got the nerf bat for SB, and it ended up costing the job more than just simple nerfs.

Overtime I still wonder about YoshiP's comment how powerful the skill was before HW, and that they nerfed it before release. Maybe it did re-summon the fairy for free, but even if it did that that would be pretty OP because of amount of free MP and resources saved over a long raid fight. Just look at the Dissipate "bug" towards the end of Creator that many did abuse for free damage and MP. It was extremely nice, complete Dissipate use practically on-cooldown without losing your fairy. We saw a glimpse of this functionality in a sense. There was no way you were running out of MP ever as long as you had swiftcast and dissipate up.

I would love to see a complete overhaul of Dissipation where its main function is to switch between Fairies. I was hoping that it would have a lower cast time and possibly grant less Aetherflow Stacks in exchange. I would be happy if it only granted a single Aether stack but could be used every 30 seconds to instantly swap your fairy without any additional healing spell boost. It would make switching fairies have some incentive and also be less stressful than trying to burn through six Aetherflow stacks to make full use of the Quickened Aetherflow Trait. This would be tremendous if the fairies didnt share a recast timer for their abilities and honestly I dont see why they do. None of their skills overlap in a harmful way as it stands.

A Fairy Trance thing that synergizes with our actual heals and doesn't work AGAINST our lvl 70 Fey Gauge.

Dissipation- Makes our fairy go away, give us insta 3 Aetherflow stacks, increase our healing ability potency by 10% and our Aetherflow healing abilities by 10% as well as a Shields.

Then when it's done, we get a set 30 Fey Gauge or something (for the 3 stacks we used) at lvl 70.

Also for an aesthetic change, we can get fairy wings or something?

I mean SMN gets a Nuke, and then Demi Bahamut. We get a fey tether....can we plz get something fancy too? Q_Q

I just dont want to dump our limited MP on having to resummon is all. Figured they could just make it like Smn's Bahamut in that your summon goes away you get the usual aetherflow and buff then auto resummons once done. Another thing they can do is just have your faerie tether to yourself when you use dissipation making it unable to do anything, but you get the buff and aetherflow, your faerie is around so you still gain gauge, and wont need to resummon once done.

I don't need more A flow honestly, the spells have a CD, so it's kind of pointless, unless I wanna cast more Drains -.-"
What could be interesting would be the ability to swap the pet on the fly free of charge, without losing stacks, allowing us more uptime on pet buffs and the ability to chose defense vs offence, according to the present situation.
