[Mch] Using FT in AOE pulls

Basically : How do you use FT outside of triggering overheat ? It feels really lackluster now, since our heat is so SLOW to increase while doing anything, and so fast when we push FT.

I can hardly go to overheat manually, and if I can manage to get there, usually the mobs are long dead before I can exploit the 20% overheat on spread shot and a FT snapshot.

I usually end up using FT when no more cooldowns are avaliable to get rid of spread shot, and it quickly put me on OH I can't fully explore.

Am I the only one to find this ability more or less a dumb heat button we could have added as an other oGCD, factoring no damage, neither a 10s channel ?

I'd honestly like the 10 heat per shot back. It made it both more engaging and allowed more liberal use of cooldown.

I agree, but since It isn't the case... :(

As far as FT rework, I could see it being an Ammo Fueled OGCD that brings back the Mach DoT while being a generous heat shot.

It would both serve as a way to both build heat, and be used in Overheat to pump a +20% DoT onto the target with wildfires.

Just advices to use it with the most efficiency, with the current state.

Best way to use it is to overheat through spread shot (have fun with that) and continue doing so and flamethrower when you have a second remaining on overheat. The damage is apparently snap shotted but I haven't tested it out for myself.

Ah, the initial post was a bit all over.

Honestly, I don't think there's anything you can really do better given the current state of affairs. Mach needs some more heat generation to make use of snapshotting OH Flamethrowers for AoE without spamming Spreadshot

Since Flamethrower is basically stronger than Spread Shot, I just burn the whole duration as often as possible and then Spread Shot the rest. If you have heat built up from a previous pull, you can also shoot into OH before FT.

Yup, it can be easily seen on a dummy. Basically overheat, rapid fire + reload and spread shot spam, then flamethrower right before the end of oh.

That's the point.

It can hardly been done every 2 or 3 packs, except if I push it with barrel stabilizer, but that means once i'm done Overheating and if less than 3 mobs remains, I'll be stuck with non heated shots.

I like how the class plays for ST now but the heat gutting has made OH near impossible for AOE pulls in dungeons. You'd have to not use ammo and spam Spread shot for FIFTY seconds just to OH manually. Over ONE HUNDRED seconds if you did use ammo. They really ruined the fun of Aoe.

I wish heat could just be 10 again. Or at the very least, Spread Shot.

Well it's basically a 60 seconds cycle. If you do hot shot, stabilizer, spread shot spam until oh, more spread shots and ft before oh ends you'll see that stabilizer will be available a few seconds after the barrel penalty ends. Not too exciting...but it is what it is and it works at least.

All of this is assuming that the tank hasn't moved the pack of mobs after you start FT, ugh...

I wish we could at least pivot while using FT...
