Silver tier woes

Does going up the ladder get any better once you reach gold tier? Silver has been a disaster...

It seems like every team i`m on, my healer gets outhealed by such a large margin, its ridiculous. Dark Knight tanks thinking they're dps and ignoring the medals. Paladins who dont silence and stun stagger healers. Melee who pull in 150k damage... It's so frustrating.

Does it get any better in the higher tiers or will i be banging my head against the wall to try and reach the top 100?

Nope the player quality doesnt change, some are good some arent as good.
But if player quality is stopping you from ranking up then you are doing something wrong.

Dont see how i`m doing something wrong being grouped with poor healers.

Like I understand the sporadic bad players but being able to rank you, but I'm in a steak today of 3-10

In low rating you get worse team member and worse opponent. In high rating you get better team members and better opponent. How ranking would be any more easier in high ranking? It should only get harder.

I'm not looking for easier rankings. I'm looking for competent teammates to make this actually fun. I don't care if I lose because the other team slightly edged us. U care playing for the last 6 hours and having horrible healers in every group.

Play healer if you think only your healers are horrible.
If you don't want to play heal then thats fine, but nothing's stopping you if your healers are the only thing holding you back. :^)

No it gets worse. Imagine this situation, you're platinum trying to hit Diamond, you're one of the only Platinum DPS /Tank on the board, so the game tries to match you against a Platinum and fill in to be fair. The other platinums are healers, what do you think your Low rank will be on your team?

Silver was very hard to climb to gold because of the many basic mistakes many people in my team make and just completely ruins many of my potential win matches to the point I was at 49% win rate at worst and of course I was still practicing my SAM skills. It's frustrating I know but it is what it is.

After I reached gold I've been teamed up with people with adequate experience especially platinum and even diamond players on the field and it has been a lot easier for me to climb as a melee now with 54.7% win rate.
Now all in all imo it's pretty much how skilled the healer can survive and keep the team alive.

well on my own experience, Bronze was a nightmare. Every second healer was as useful as brick. I had only 26% win rate. Now, on the silver tier things definitely go better. Only 6 unranked in row in the worst case. So my rate up to 46% and im near gold right now. So, OP, just keep trying

The matchmaking favors "speed of queue" vs. "fair matchmaking". You can get people with your rank +/- 2 ranktiers in your team. Everybody gets bronze at some point, because they never lose points until they reach bronze. This means everyone in gold will still get silver and bronze guys, aswell as platinum and diamond people. What you get in the end depends only on the people who are queueing at that moment. You could get decent matches with experienced players or only bronze matches. Again, the system favors short queues, it doesnt care about matchmaking aslong as it is somewhat fair with some variation it will pop. Now there are way more people playing feast, they could make matchmaking more strict again so that people will have a higher chance playing with players of the same ranks. Instead they throw every player in 1 big pot until they reach platinum, so atm you get matches with players who did get 10 wins and 100+ wins all together, which completely fails the original purpose of rank tiers.

So instead of 6 tiers we actually only have 3 to begin with. And here we are, one day after another people complain about their teams and demand changes e.g. healer too strong, dps too bad, too much 10stacks.... maybe fix matchmaking first, then fix what is not balanced. I believe people would want to wait longer if they know they are less likely to get total meme match.

i dunno man if i queue for ranked feast and I see wait time is something like more than 20 min I go queue for something else instead.

Everybody and their mom que for ranged, if you want fast pops play another role tbh

For gold quals my 2 losses 1: our samurai took the wolf-heart and 10 stacks.

2: Healer spammed cure II and ran out of mp immediately. Never seen anything like it, so I right clicked view profile.......

its okay , I lost platinum with them and gotta work back up, so i'd say it evens out once you hit platinum, then you'll only have a good healer 20% of the time as opposed to 50% of the time, my last match our healer dc'd at the start.

I lost two qualifiers now because the healers couldn't manage to cast anything until it was 3+ seconds too late. Seeing a tank die with a healer at full mp not being hassled is pretty aggravating.

I think the frustration comes more from the qualifiers then actually climbing the ranks. I can make progress with a 50% win rate. The qualifiers have been a disaster.

ok before silver most ppl go after the ranged first but now i've been seeing more people wanting to go after melee dps first. is this the norm?

It usually depends on who has the attack buff

Just had a qualifier match that went the full 8 minutes and our drg and summoner had 140,000 damage both. Opposing team dps were in the 200s.

I can't put all the blame on bad healers because I've seen some terrible dps now that I've been queuing as tank.

Melee tend to be easier to pin down for burst imo.

To be fair total compared to well placed burst is important. Also have to account for cc downtimes when a team gets nin+blm etc.

True. A good healer can save the day against well timed burst. Just like a good pld can save the day with a cover or stun/silence stagger.

It's just frustrating to lose to constantly get paired with bad groups for the qualifier. Like why couldn't I get on the opposing team which steam rolled us. Like my last match to qualify again our sam did 19k damage in 3 minutes. Bard did 51k. I did 51k as paladin.

The best was that the opposing teams tank grabbed the attack buff and the monk grabbed the defense buff. They had a summoner as the other dps. It was set up for us to win but I knew we were doomed because the healer this match was the opposing healer this match and I knew we were done from the start.

I've seen 10 stacks often in Platinum-Diamond matches last season. Not much will change except that you'll stop getting first timers after Gold rank. Also you'll start being more careful when to que because it'll be much harder and longer to get back lost ratings if there's new healer around ruining every match.
