If you queue as any of these jobs, you are automatically a detriment to your teammates so please stop queuing as them:
- Warrior
- Astrologian
- Red Mage
Ranged DPS please take the defensive buff at the start. You have the least HP and you are wasting your healers MP if you don't take it.
Bards/Machinist, please use your MP/TP restore. It's just one button press and it will help your healers out!
PLDs please use spam Clemency and Cover whenever you see your teammates in trouble, I know it's hard doing nothing else but poking a Healer all day but trust me
DRKs same with you with Blackest Night.
Samurai's.. I know 97% of you in Ranked Feast like to roleplay as some great war hero who will destroy every one of your enemies, especially if you see another Samurai on the enemy team. Please pay attention to the correct targets to hit, you aren't going to solo anyone. I get it though, you want to show that enemy Samurai that you're the bigger weeb warrior but while you're doing that you're letting the Tank with 10 stacks go untouched.. just please focus some more!

Be careful of how many medals you pick up. The more medals you have, the more damage you take. As a tank, take 2-3 stacks of medals (170-190 medals), then let your allies pick up the rest. Picking up more makes you easy pickings, a sure kill target to give the enemy their medals back.

Pay attention to who has the offensive/defensive supplies on the opposing team. Kill/ignore respectively, as the situation calls. Don't get stuck trying to kill someone with defensive supplies by yourself because you decided that they are the target to kill before the gates even opened.

DPS - Self preservation is a shared responsibility. The healer can't save you from everything alone. If you get focused consider retreating, popping defensive cd's, breaking line of sight(with the enemy, not your healer). Take whatever defensive measures necessary to buy some time for your healer to keep you alive.

08-10-2017, 06:20 PMkuma_ausTo be honest, basically all. With only like 9 buttons to worry about, none of the jobs are that super advance. But healers are very demanding so I would avoid them if you don't want the headache that comes with them. I would say find the job that you enjoy and stick with it. You'll slowly get used to the job and start doing better. For example, I love NIN and MNK but don't like DRG as much. After leveling both NIN and MNK from 50 > 60 in PvP, I started to get a lot more used to them and started to get kills much easier in Frontlines. And even those matches I did bad was fun since I was playing a job I enjoyed.Quote:

It's my main job so I'm quite familiar with the moveset. I WHM a lot as well, but I'm interested in what the opinion of AST as Detrimental specifically, if you all don't mind. -

What are the roles that can best carry a team by yourself? Healer, then melee dps?
As ranged (bard) I feel like I'm all burst with relatively poor sustained dps to pressure, so if I get a bad melee dps for example, it's extremely difficult to find a kill window to capitalize on my burst, and the match pretty much goes nowhere. Just trying to save myself the most frustration - let's assume I'm equally good at all. -

Healers are good at carrying but only if both teams are really bad. If one team is better even by a small margin, you may as well just queue melee DPS. If you just focus the target your co-dps is attacking, you should be fine.

SCH has a 30 second minimum cooldown on Aetherflow - because when you use skills that use Aetherflow your Aetherflow cooldown goes down by 5 seconds. Deorbit is pretty situational too, you have absolutely nothing to protect you if you get focused except trying to kite the enemy. -

After about 100 games I switched to Monk and had such an easier time, Midare is absolutely terrible the way things are right now, mix that with resource management and its a pain in the bum. As Samurai you really rely on the ranged to put a lot of forefront damage or backend / finishing the opponent off unless the healer is asleep. Your Gap closer also directly takes away from your ability to burst. Overall its meh..Quote:

you can technically manually build your sen to prepare for burst using the combo starts to get a second midare in your burst but...
The issue is midare doesn't hit hard enough for its cast time, Monk and Dragoon have the same level of damage or more without a cast time. The cast time desyncs your burst and allows the healer to heal off the previous damage , where as Monk/dragoon/Ninja all do their bursts instantly once they start them.
Midare's cast and sound also act as a telegraph. My experience has always been gekko( shinten) > shifu (shinten) > midare (shinten) > Kasha might be decent but they'll be healed after the midare on any healer not being CC'd at the right time.
and honestly you'll still need the ranged to help otherwise you wont kill the target. Monk/Drg/Nin don't really need help from the ranged -
