A. Casually Committed : " I am loving / trying to like this game, but i can't commit many hours for the game either because IRL responsibility or i haven't found guild yet, and i feel no obligation to pay sub regularly

2. Choose your Skill Level
A. Newbie : " I am still new to the game and sometime the number of buttons that must be pressed overwhelmed me, it will be nice if someone teach me"

B. Able " I Understand the importance of keybinding,macros and guides, but sometimes i still unable to remain calm during heavy movement and damage mechanic"

C. Hardcore. " Mastering what can be mastered,trying to group with like-minded people to beat hardest encounter, people sometime missunderstood me and yet it was people like me that create guide"

I'd say that the "able" option is a bit weird and an odd gap before hardcore. For example, I'm not hardcore, but heavy movement or dmg don't bother me at all and I'm a BLM main. I don't make guides and I'm not an absolute master of the job, but I can play it well and don;t have issues with these kinds of things.

IMO "Able" means a player knew how to create keybinding and macro since mastering this "muscle memory" are the proof that you are seasoned mmo player, a lot of newbies got shot down by toxic player telling them that they are suck eventhough a lot of those newbies only lacking muscle memory.

Hardcore imo is more like mentality and perfecting their muscle memory and always thriving to be the best or at least clearing hardest encounter, they are usually in a like-minded guild and from this guild/ member of guildies that a lot of guides are coming from, since one does not simply clear hardest content with PUG at the day they're released

Ah so is this some sort of innocent lead up to a whole new way of shutting certain "unable" players out of the content you're currently pushing?

I am not the best player and certainly not trying to shut other people from enjoying content, what i do want is to encourage people and myself to be bettter within our own pace. and providing a simpe poll can help the Community manager gaining feedback as small as it may be and to train my english writing skill lol. All i want is for all of us to encourage other player especially those who want to be better

What the he'll does keybinding macros and guides honestly have to do with being an able player?

I killed Sophia without a guide. I killed zurvan without a guide. Susan no guide. Laksmhi no guide. Orngoing the other way back in arr coils no guides. No special keybinds or macros for any of them. Unless you count /ac shirk <2> or something similar.

To be honest needing a guide or macro prompts suggests you are actually the opposite of able because you can't figure things out for yourself..

I like to master my jobs and push the limits of there capabilities. I'd like to think I'm pretty good at the jobs I play. But I really don't care for the hardest encounters or content simply because what's hard today is face roll easy tomorrow. So there's no lasting sense of prestige (for want of a better word) in getting anything done. Way back in ARR for example the final witnes title was rare. And it had a sense of prestige when you set it. Now though can rofl stomp the whole thing and get that title with no difficulty at all.

So I just don't bother with the hardest stuff cos its not worth it. Yet in comparison on my ps4 there's games I've bust my ass off on just to get a trophy my friends haven't got. Because even years later if they want that trophy they'll have to do exactly the same challenge I did. And not just rofl stomp it.

If I had to describe myself as a gamer in FFXIV. I'd say I'm a highly skilled but highly unmotivated player. Today's challenge is tomorrow's cake walk and just not worth bothering with as a result.

I'm not hardcore I don't give a dam about melding or BIS. I really don't care if one 320 ring has slightly better secondaries than another. because there's no point i'll just use whatever has the highest I level. there no point in going after BIS or melding cos it'll be replaced in no time at all. oh hey the Lakshmi ring has better secondaries than the omega one. who cares i't'll be replaced by creation in a week or three.... why no melds? cos i'll be tossing the gear in less than a month why waste my money on something temporary. you wouldn't rent a house and pay for double glazing windows loft and wall insulation. and an extention knowing in 6 months you'll be moving out..... and get no return on your investment...

There's been discussions about players wanting the new super savage to be kept at it's level so you can never over gear or unsync it with the next expac. I genuinely hope they do this cos then finally something in the game will have a lasting sense of prestige. it will be the same difficulty in 4 years time as it is on day 1.

Good For you, but my theme is encouragement, which is why i encourage new people to do keybinding and macros to step up their game at their own pace, and the real proof of leveling up your skill in mmo is by learning keybinding and macros, reading guide is optional since it is okay to play it safe


And i also agreed that SE should think more before nerfing content to encourage player to do harder content

I'm a hardcore player from a gameplay and mechanics understanding perspective, but I am a super casual when it comes to time able to expend perspective. Reason why: I have a wife and kids. I simply can't afford the necessary time to show off my skills or get the gear necessary to do so effectively (at least not quickly).

That's just reality for me.

My respect to you for putting your family first, if we are Role playing you are like a bad ass adventurer but "took and arrow to the knee" lol. In the end gaming is supposed to be fun
