Dun Scaith Difficulties

Hi guys,

So basically I have recently returned to Final Fantasy 14 after finishing my university degree. With Stormblood in hand, I am desperately trying to do some of the old content from Heavensward I had to hold back on for my work responsibilities. As such I have (for the last two days) tried to queue and get into Dun Scaith, with no luck. I seem to be queueing for hours and never getting a full raid party.

I have read a lot online that this particular raid party former struggles with long wait times, but I was wondering. Is Dun Scaith still broken, should I continue to spend my days waiting or is there really no point. I really want to do it, but hours of waiting to only leave the queue due to other commitments seems to be counter productive. Will it eventually drop and i will get in, or is it just one of those instances where square will need to fix an issue.

(Just to let you know, I play a dragoon lvl 60 with full il260 armour on Odin server)

Took me 3 hrs to get in on Famfrit as a lvl 65 red mage. I left and did other stuff during the wait. It isn't broken though.

They are planning to add a raid roulette with patch 4.1 to increase participation in old raids with a daily bonus, but until then there isn't a solution. Wait a couple months for patch or hope to get lucky in a long queue during a peak period / weekend.

Dun scaith isn't broken, it just so happens that an expansion just came out so nobody is doing old content. There is no "fixing it" beyond the planned 24man roulette, and you can't force people back into old alliance raids when they want to enjoy the brand new content they were just given.

Right now your best bet is to que on sundays. Awhile back(during HW) some people over on the FF14 reddit started a trend about doing the old alliance raids(which at the time were the CT series) on sundays, and regularly advertising for others to join in and spread the word. I dont know if theyre still advertising for it, but if enough people got into the habit of doing out of date 24 man content on sunday, thats when the ques would be quickest. And if/when the roulette shows up, thatll just make it all much easier.

I had Dun Scaith for WT book last week, waited almost 2 hrs and gave up.
The upcoming patch will add aliances if i recall, not sure how this would help or work out in the end

I had trouble getting Void Ark and Mhach, but they eventually popped (even got Void Ark a second time after only waiting 3 hours!)
I have yet to get into Dun Scaith after numerous extremely long waits.
I just had a group finally hit 22/24 spots (needed 2 DPS) only to then have 3 DPS leave, 2 healers leave, and then the whole thing drop down to a 12/24 with no tanks.
And since you can't really PF into these, it just ends up being a waste of time.

It is getting obnoxious and it is extremely annoying for the only solution to be "Wait for months and see if they actually get the roulette done".
You'd think there'd still be enough people running through this for the first time to actually get a group going, but apparently not...

So a work-around solution might be to put in a little more work. Does your server have a LS for people who like to run older content(coils, alex, CT, SoM)? If yes, join! If not, then its a niche that you can try to fill. Start a new shell, advertise(on your servers forum, via shouting in town, put up a PF, etc) for some people, make sure you give a good portion of them permission to add people, and encourage them to help you grow. You may not be able to form a full alliance PF, but if you get 12+ people from your server alone queing at the same time, your odds of getting in with a reasonable que skyrocket.

Unfortunately it's like that for all the alliance raids, honestly can't wait for 4.1.

I'm waiting 7 hours for labyrinth of the ancients! Still in queue right now, took a couple naps while waiting. the party never fills cause people give up and leave. So when is this 4.1?

Finally got it like 8 hours later. Please hurry with alliance rouilette. I didn't actually need labyrinth but i felt like going back and revisiting old content.

24 man raids are one of my favorite things to do in this game and I can't wait for the 24 man Raid Roulette. I didn't know there was one coming, but now that I do, it's going to be fun again. I still need the Onion Knight & Scathach minions as well.

It certainly doesn't help that Dun Scath was one of the more difficult 24 mans. Even towards the end most runs I went on only cleared because of Diabolos' double edged attack. A lot of people just don't want to do that again when upgrade items can be bought really cheap.

Same problem for me apparently appears as I want to unlock Mentor Roullete by clearing the Crystal Tower. Just have to time it with peak hours and Wondrous Tails, I guess.

Yeah the queues really suck now. But raid roulette is coming, thankfully. I love doing the 24 man raids in this game. Takes me back to my old EQ days without the stress of having to be a hardcore anymore.

Keep queueing, especially on week ends...
This how I finally managed to complete the crystal tower raids. I even did queue a couple of entire afternoon without any proc :/
And it took a long time to finally complete it !

A good incentive to those would be giving out tokens to exchange for materia, like in leveling roulette.
