Despite the fact that these are clearly bots, they're breaking tos, etc, you're not allowed to accuse anyone by name (including posting pictures). I'd remove the image.
Speed hack? On Balmung since that picture is right close to a timed node you see it a lot. They teleport hack. It is kind of amusing. If anyone remembers you have to emote dance for one of them. So they teleport underground back and forth talking to the npc. But the one they have to dance for they can't do it underground. So they all pop up on the screen and dance then back underground.
Because SE don't do anything about it. Countless bots on my server everyday, obvious as anything yet still exist.
Pvpbank and their ilk need a hot date with a can of gasoline and a few matches. Seriously, why are those awful sites not illegal?!
We must resist the robot revolution! Organics must stand up now or be destroyed!
Bots will exist as long as people buy gil from them. In other words, forever.
Skynet is here.
What's more amazing than the bots, is the ability to client-side teleport.
Those bots are typical gil farmers and are defined by their gibberish names and use of teleport hacks. They're also generally BLMs and BRDs, though I've noticed a strange trend of them being WHMs instead of the latter recently. Simply doing a search for level 1-50 THM/BLM, ARC/BRD, and CNJ/WHM will reveal just how many of them are present on your server.
I don't think it would be a stretch to say that every mid to high population server has a constant stream of them being created/deleted as they repeatedly complete the MSQ.
There are several things they could to do stop them (Making enemies go invincible/reset if they can't reach you for a prolonged period of time would be an easy one, as they rely on their ability to teleport under the ground to kill all of the dungeon bosses without tanks/healers), but they don't for who knows what reason.
Because all those accounts pay subs too and Squeenix loves money. I know they can get rid of them, or at least most of their tells/says/shouts etc because they did it in FFXI.
The bots themselves actually aren't the problem. SE does ban them but they do so in waves as it allows them to track the actual accounts used to store and trade the gil they make. Banning the bot accounts alone ultimately does nothing to solve the problem as they just create new accounts, even if it does remove them from the world temporarily.
It's hard to know if they're actually banning the gil farming bots or not because they'll simply delete themselves once they've finished as much of the MSQ as they can.
As for the gathering bots, the same few are still around after close to a year and countless new ones have joined them since SB released.
SE has no proof that their system works betters then the other way. SEs way allows for millions if not billions of gil to float into the economy. They only remove from the farmer and buyer has on hand. If I sold i500 weapon for 100 million gil on the MB the gil doesn't disappear from me.
Not to mention the amount of items they put into the game. SE also doesn't take away the gil farmers shards you bought. They will remove a huge swath from the MB though. Always amusing to check the MB after a ban notice and see the person who had a 20 listings of wind shards to vanish. And to go from over a 100 for sale to less then 10.
This is second hand from some people who still play WoW. But supposedly the base item farming type bots for gold selling are gone. Due to the way the token system works. Still see the odd player bot. But cheaters are always going to cheat.
I saw a load of them while doing the thaumaturge quests, I was wondering what they were doing. It was pretty funny watching identical lalas crying to the npcs and then disappearing into the floor though.
