Main quest and story

I first of all with the main quest I have to ask myself why does the gamemakers ask you if you want to join the empire and you tell the prince yes but yet you cannot join the empire just like with the main scenario On A Realm Reborn the Viceroy ask you the black wolf do you believe in erorza and you say no nothing changes why give characters options to voice what they want like when you tell the Scions of the Seventh Dawn it's not your fight you don't want to help them but yet you're still forced to after they clearly State they don't give a flying crap about you and it would be an inconvenience if you die

My second question is this game is supposed to be about the warrior of light and the warrior of light is supposed to do what is right then why is the warrior of light associating with a terrorist cell organization known as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn because they are a small group of people hell-bent and determined to undermine government Authority and create as much turmoil as possible to bring down so said government to instate one of their own(Lyes) and have all of their members in key political strategic situations involving themselves in every country of the world to me that doesn't sound like the good guys

And I'm also curious on why is the game and expansions not about the warrior of light when the game clearly states that it is supposed to be about the warrior of light everybody whines and cries especially in stormblood content lyse about her poor pathetic family okay where is the warrior of Lights family when does anybody ever try to get to know her where is her backstory why can't she talk why is she always like a robot a Mindless robot slave who just nods and smiles they could tell her to jump off a cliff and kill herself and she would smile and Nod

Give her a voice and give her some emotions and allow her to tell a few people to kiss it and give and give her the option to leave the terrorist organization Scions of the Seventh Dawn because they're only using her as a biological weapon

If you're wondering why I call the Scions of the Seventh Dawn a terrorist organization this is why

Under the order of alphinaud Leviair the Scion of the Seventh Dawn leader the warrior of light leads a small group of insurgents into another country kidnapping and innocent civilian securing passage to another country that they are in political dispute with the events leading up to Doma Castle being blown up and flooded killing countless of other people just because they don't like how they run just because they don't like how Doma country is being run

I can think of one American event to wear this same action taken place

Since when was an invasion and implementation of a ruler who makes and appoints people to lord over them a just government?

Seriously, we aren't the bad guys here, no matter how you try to paint it.

tyrantdragon - You don't have to post multiple times. Just type in a sentence or something under 1000 words then you can edit the post for as much as you want. Simply put, type your post then cut everything but the first sentence. Once you post it then just edit the post and paste in the rest of it.

Also, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn do not meet any standard set for judging any group to be a terrorist organization. They are simply an independent relief organization that assists legitimate governments in Eorzea with a number of pressing problems. They do not use terror as a means to accomplish political goals, which is the core of what is means to be a terrorist.

Whilst I agree that the Scions should be called out for resorting to increasingly brutal measures to achieve their goals it's understandable as to why they would seek to liberate Doma and Ala Mhigo.

Still, by all accounts drowning is one of the most terrifying and brutal ways to perish - that they showed no hesitation once such a plan was suggested shows that they are more than willing to dehumanise the Garleans and those that serve them. Something which, ironically, they criticise the Garleans and their allies for doing to them. I would very much like to see the Scions either take a step back or become a truly neutral organisation instead of operating primarily in Eorzea's interests though. I would also very much like the opportunity to align with the more reasonable elements of Garlemald and work on a more diplomatic and peaceful approach.

Still, the 'terrorist' label is an interesting choice in words. Not entirely without merit, I feel - one man's 'freedom fighter' is another man's 'terrorist' and the lyrics of Revolutions certainly attests to their being two sides in every war. Whether or not we see consequences for the more horrific actions of both sides remains to be seen, though. I certainly hope so because one sided stories are far from 'Final Fantasy' and tend to be very dull. Especially when there's plenty of people rooting for the antagonists in each title.

Still, I'll reserve my judgement for future patches to see if the Scions realise that Zenos was not working for Garlemald, further conflict will result in an immense amount of bloodshed and that there's the Garlean Consulate in Kugane where an attempt at diplomacy can be made. If nothing else the Scions need to learn that a more nuanced approach is required - and that backing a faction as powerful as Garlemald into a corner is not a good idea. Though being able to do that in the first place would be questionable and I would much prefer a resolution similar to how Archades was handled back in FFXII or even the Shinra Corporation back in FFVII.

The whole thing with the flooding of Doma castle wasn't to drown the Garleans, but to try and get them to surrender because they cut off every avenue of escape. And the idea that the Scions are a truly neutral organization is not right in the slightest, ever since 2.0 it's been clear that the sicons are clearly on the side of the City-States of Eorzea. The thing is is that we are neutral when it comes to our dealings with the 4 to be 5 city-states. It's why the HQ moved to Mor Dhona, to many people were coming up to our door, and asking us to do relatively minor stuff in exchange for favors or better lodging for loyalty (also a major reason there is no giant crystal to warp to). The Scions of the Seventh Dawn (Which is a stupid title now that we are in the Seventh Astral Era) only work to better Eorzea, which includes Ala Mhigo, and hey if they free up Doma in the process of creating the grandest of diversions, all the better.


But hey, Mr.OP maybe I'm missing some logic here. Feel free to explain where the game is stated to be about the WoL themself, and not of their battle against the Garleans, how Alphi, Tataru, and other's don't care about your personal feelings, when they ask, "How are you holding up," or "Are you tired," or "What are you going to do now [that we are restructuring the SSD]," and even say, "Sorry I got here so late [and you had to face Ifrit on your own]."

You mean the talking catfish? Who was the one who tried to throw us into an ambush in a port where NO ONE is allowed to use weapons in the vain hopes that we were stupid enough to not see this coming a malm away? Mr. talking catfish. Who did we let go after everything had calmed down? The catfish. Who took us to the Ruby Sea? The Kojin, for nothing more than helping them meet a representative of Lolorito's company. And have you ever head of the old war expression, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"? We had no idea what the people in Yanxi were like. For all we knew, a majority of them were chomping at the bit to strike back at Garlemald, someone that we know is routinely committing atrocities, whose acting viceroy had people killed and tortured for the smallest and wildest reasons.

It was a sound tactical move for the sake of increasing the chances of victory. If the roles were reversed, though, I have little doubt that the Warrior of Light and his allies would be condemning Garlemald even as they watched their own troops drown and endure an incredibly painful and terrifying death.

As for the Scions and their dubious neutrality I would much prefer that they operated in a manner similar to an organisation along the lines of Doctors Without Borders. My biggest dream for this game is that they somehow do take a fair few steps in that direction and shun the current one sided approach to complicated political issues.

As of currently since 2.0 the Garlean Empire has deemed the Scion as a possible threat to their plans because they consist of Echo users which the Garlean Empire has condemned as "Kill on Sight" priority during 1.0 and 2.0 until their recent move sometime after 2.0 MSQ to study the Echo users so they can find a means to give people ability to fight Primals without the risk of Primal Influences which now has provided the results of creating the Resonants.

I mean, first point is fair, totally arguable and one we won't have a concrete answer to.

Second point, the Scions, according to Minfillia, are an organization dedicated to "the preservation of the future of Eorzea". It's one of the first things she says to you. They were only meant to be impartial to the 3 great city states and help them with problems only echo users could help with, which evolved into, "Please stop this primal, we'd be ever so grateful," at some point.

Second bit is, once again, complaining about not having personal desires fulfilled instead of accepting what is. The Scions are an Eorzean-based organization that seeks to make sure Eorzea has a future; putting down Primals is just the most high-profile activity we engage in. It wasn't until Operation Archon that we began to operate in the public eye. Since then we have increased our political operations, largely at Alphinaud's behest, who is now the Antecedent in all but name and title. Nobody else really cares for political activities - Alisae in particular hates them. The Empire, it so happens, is a great danger to Eorzean lives... and also have it out for Echo users, which compose a goodly chunk of the Scions. Our main goal is, and always has been, ensuring Eorzea's future - even our aid in the Doman liberation was driven by this, not purely benevolence.

The Scions are partial to Eorzean interests. It doesn't matter what you want, that's the reality...

We do not even know if many Garlean soldiers where even killed in that flooding (which was the idea of Hien and not the scions) and since we can still fight a way in this, there were still save spots. But yes it was not the nicest way to kill someone. But just to make sure: There were no troops from our side in the castle when it was flooded so if someone died then it was only the enemy. And Eorzea was shocked about Garlemald shooting their own tower but not because they killed Eorzean people in this but because they killed their own soldiers. Which was not done in Doma. Our assault only started after it was flooded and Hien commanded that the civilians should be protected.
