Items disappearing in house.

So I decided to revamp our FC house, a medium one in the mists, and though... ya know what, Paintings are cool, I'll get a bunch of those. So i throw up about 10 oif them, and suddenly going side to side in teh house makes items disappear, sometimes till I'm right ontop of them.

it seems that anything more than 20 clickable items and they disaappear. And it seems to be only with Dynamic items vs. Static ones. i.e. Anything that you can interact with.

Is that the norm? I assume it's just how it has to be, but i ended up wasting a good deal of money on things like food/paintings and now it's wasted cause of this limitation.

It's normal but it should be a bit over 40 interactive items that causes the issue. You're going to have to pick and choose if you don't want items disappearing on you. :(

I recall Yoshi saying something about machines with less than four cores could have issues displaying all housing items.

I think it was 32 bit systems having issues with that, but thus far I've only seen reports of people having issues going over the interactive furniture threshold.

He said something about 32 bit systems having trouble during FanFest yes - funny enough I'm running a 64 bit system with a quadcore and items are disappearing because I've placed "to many"

Item culling is as bad as it's always been. :(

PS4 pro with hybrid ssd, not that the latter likely helps with that. I was just disappointed :(

After 39 interactive items the game will stop rendering the ones furthest from your position. At least that's how the behavior is supposed to work according to the 4.0 patch notes, and if it were working as intended you'd probably not even notice the items that were temporarily vanishing.

Unfortunately it appears to be broken, going by this and the older thread I linked above.

The crafter furnishing seem to be affected the most. On our FC house before it was rearranged, the only interactive items we had on the main floor were armoire, fc chest, summoning bell, crystal bell, orchestrion, aquarium and cooking stove. That's far from the limit but for some reason, the cooking stove always vanishes unless I'm standing right in front of it. That did not happen before 4.0 and we only recently added items to the house. The problem was already present as soon as 4.0 hit.

My furnishings are disappearing all the time .... sad.

In Rift it took at least 1200 1400 items before that started, many many of which were interactive and very VERY flashy.

Granted FFXIV graphic quality is much better!!! But the price we pay is a disappearing act.

Bumping an old thread here, but it seems along with very few getting homes, the homes given keep having this issue. Why make the item count higher inside if it can't actually support it? I have a small house for my FC and even at 175/200 items this keeps happening. It kind of ruins anything fancy trying to be accomplished.

Same problems here with a few furnitures, now randomly my armoire chest and my FC chest disappears randomly if I move a few steps away.

CPU: i5 4690k processor here.
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970
Game installed in a Samsung EVO 850 SSD.

Silly question, but does your FC house use any of the blank wall partitions that allow you to apply wallpaper to them? I can't remember, but I think I read someplace that those can cause issues as well

Yep, those count as interactive furniture. Flower pots, vases, food, npcs, blank partitions, lights that have on/off features, etc all count towards that 40 interactive item limit before things start disappearing randomly.
