Gear Design Contest

According to the patch notes, only the tank gear was implemented, with the rest of the gear based off of the tank gear?
So does that mean the DPS caster and healer contest winners will be added later?

"Gear based on the grand prize winner of the Gear Design Contest (Tank Edition) has been implemented. DPS and healer gear based on this design has also been implemented."

Edit: Indeed the gear for other jobs will be based of the tank winner contest.
For other contest, that will probably be add later in 4.2 and 4.4 if they do what I think.

Yes I read them, I just wanted to double check, since the tank gear was my least favorite of the contest winners, oh well.

I hope it was worded badly and we'll be getting the other designs as gear and not based off of that... grey blob.

This was my understanding. I think it defeats the purpose of having a tank design contest and then adding Healer/DPS gear based on...the tank design. I guess we'll know in a few hours!

I think all the gear is gonna have the same theme as the Tank winner. They still haven't done a contest for melee and physical ranged DPS.

Does this mean chaps for everyone?

"based on this design" as you underlined it. So not the caster and healer gear which won their respective contest. At least when you answer someone, read their post with more attention.

Yes. I guess it will be implemented in later patches. Maybe Tanks and Healers will get Gear based on the design from the caster/healer winners.

I thought the tank piece looked pretty cool.

If you think about it, the tank gear contest was quite some time ago, yet they are only releasing gear based on it now. Following that, it's likely that the other gear will pop up somewhere further down the expansion. It'll be added, just not with this patch. Which makes sense because they are still missing designs for melee dps. It'd be weird to have only a portion of the new tomestone gear be based on all contest winners so far.

i never could understand why FFXIV has such a desire for half skirts, bat wings, back skirts.

These pics are nothing new to me. It simply feels like someone took an existing armor and recolored it and threw in a couple extras

anyone know where to get this gear? Cant log in until tonight to check. Im assuming its crafted

They're bought from the Tomestone vendor in Rhalgr's Reach for the new Tomestones of Creation.

I wonder what the DPS and Healer based gear on the tank design looks like :o

I hope we all get chaps when the caster winner is released :3c

You can check the above listed link for the ranged DPS and healer contest results.... the patch notes state that healer and dps gear BASED on the tank winner design have been implemented. not the actual healer and ranged dps contest winners from my understanding.

This was the only piece I liked for the ranged. Too bad is was a runner up. Everything else is ugly or bleh.

It looks too mcuh moggle to be acceptable. Since HW everything moggle is forbiden.
