into FFXIV? who would you want to have in this game?
Sephiroth? Kefka?
Nah, they're kind of old, i've played with them enough. And htey'd have to be near godlike to be accurately represented, and pretty much unbeatable. Genbu would be welcomed though. I always liked traveling to sky, and poking a giant turtle. tarutaru nin tank! Last few times me and a friend would "share", his hume nin and my taru nin, but I'd steal hate about 80% of the time. I was crazy on the sticks, and utsusemi never dropped, even though i spammed the color wheel, ws's, slow's, etc. The other 17 people were pretty good too, i guess... ^^
Absolute Virtue
And Pandemonium Gatewarden
i'd never ask kefka or sephiroth in this game, even like a cameo. Maybe a sort of homage to them, like is Raubhan.
Speaking of iconic monsters instead, king behemoth
I like your idea, perhaps not the two you have said, or any heavily story related characters like that. However, that dosen't leave off things like the weapons, and of course Gilgamesh. If I had to choose an actual final boss I think one that could work would be Cloud of Darkness.
Specific people from the final fantasy games, no I don't want that. Square has Kingdom Hearts for that. As for monsters, I would like to see some more NMs from ffxi make a comeback like cassie did.
I would be very upset up they put cliche old villians from past games into 14. That means there is just no ideas.
Putting old monsters/bosses that are not human is a different thing. But named villians? F that.
behemoth? or good ole KB lol DEFENDING RING DROPPPPPPPED
weapons omg yes!
All of the summons.
All. of. them.
At once.
They should have invasions... kind of like the Garlean Empire but to the point where they actually invade the major cities for 24hrs (Earth hours) and we are forced to participate or hide. But an invasion of what... hrmmm: the weapons, the twelve, those mecha giants from the moon in FFIV, sandworms (the big ones), T-rex!, and tonberries!
No, you would have to fight them all at once in an instance with 8 people. In the first phase only titan would be there and slowly more and more summons would spawn and you had to kill them one by one. 6 minutes into the fight bahamut would appear in the middle and reraise all of the summons and uses megaflare dealing damage in proportion to the number of summons you killed. Also there will be an exploit that many parties use because they don't have the right party setup to kill all the summons resulting in death from, or shortly after megaflare and it will cause much raging on the forums and many a butthurt.
My all-time favorite: Chaos.
Although Kefka was imo the BEST villain in any ff title (sephi-who?) and I would LOVE to see another mad as they come, crazy laughing, clown-faced, "clean my shoes" villain, they need to keep the games distinct enough. I like there are things you see in nearly every ff game...choco, moogles, etc., but main chars need to stay with their own games with maybe just a tip of the hat to them in new games (e.g. Kain's Lance).
I would like certain characters to make it to FFXIV. If there is something most FF fans like, it is nostalgia, and occasionally adding these instanced fights in would make FFXIV shine and would be one step to making the game feel like a FF.
Gilgamesh
It is very possible to implement him into the game, since he travels through the Rift to many FF worlds. Also would be a nice way for players to get nostalgia weapons and a way to implement Genji gear. Not to mention, he is simply comical and a very enjoyable character.
Magus Sisters
They were brought back to FFX very well and would like to see how they look in the current generation. Their setup would be a great challenge to players.
The Four Elemental Fiends from FFIV
I thought these bosses were great and colorful bosses, and would be awesome to see them reappear.
Phantom Train
This is silly sounding, but this is one of the silliest fights in the series, yet one of the most awesome. Finding a way to fight a train would be fun, senseless, and hilarious. FF does need it's comical relief here and there.
Ultros
Like the one above, a comical fight.
Omega and Ultima
Of course.
Tonberry King/Master Tonberry
Culex from super mario RPG. It might not be a final fantasy game but was an allusion to them. It would make for an interesting battle mechanic for an mmo in my opinion. He is supposed to be a dark knight, but he looks more like a monster in my opinion, similar to odin or something. He had 4 crystals of each element that would perform different attacks based on the element they were

girugamessssssssssssh
I saw someone mention Ultros and I thought that could prove to be a very interesting fight for this MMO. I think it would be neat to have to bring down an eight-armed mobs appendages to sway the tide of battle (perhaps take-down order could promote different fight mechanics? Take down left arms first and make it a ranged fight, take down right arms first and make it a melee fight, things of that nature.)
Which would actually go a little ways to promoting class diversity since depending on kill order you dictate which classes become more useful as the fight progresses. Sure there will be burn methods, but people will have options.
Only one anwser for this - Ultros
I would like to see the espers from XII make some appearance. I mean, I suppose they could be summonable, but I would rather see them as enemies only. They would have made great Primals. Perhaps they can be something similar?
Hi TC,
No.
-miqokini
I want Yiazmat from XII, 50million hp, Abilities and all.
While i love nods to previous villains ect. I would much prefer xiv to have its own entry(s) into the pantheon of most insufferable bad ass villains of the final fantasy franchise.
All summons, Ultros, Culex, and Yiazmat, all great choices, I would like to add Ruby Weapon to that for obvious reasons :O
If they could do this, and have the battle music be the originals... mmmm.
Or re-mix versions of the music : )
I would like to see a battle against all the 14 Imperial Legatus, similar to what we saw on the 100th battle of the Trial Mode on Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System, where you fight the five Archadian Judge Magisters.
It would be awesome if we could get retro bosses and obtain retro weapons and gear from them. Perhaps vanity items. Some bosses I would like to see are:
Ultimate Weapon from VII
Shinryu from X
Tiamat from VI
King Behemoth FF VII Crisis Core
Tornberry from most FF games...though we need the badass Tornberry from FF XIII
Giant Cactuar from XIII
Gilgamesh
Ultima and Omega weapon would be sweet to have
also a 100 level cave with a boss called Jelly Jugernaught at the end that if you didn't beat in 3 turn...err minutes you got warped out.
I know its not a SE game but it was awesome.
Now there's a time sink!
I was thinking it would be funny if everyone server-wide had to kill him for this year's Heavensturm since it's the year of the dragon and Yiazmat is pretty well-known.
The Cloud of Darkness is more or less a force of nature than an actual person or villain, so its presence in another game wouldn't be too farfetched. It would be pretty awesome as the boss of the Crystal Tower since both have their roots in FF3.
If we're REALLY going to shoehorn older FF bosses into this game (Which I'd rather not, because it's a mockery to this game and seems more like a circlejerk of older FF titles), I'd like it to be done in a tasteful fashion similar to FFXII. All of the espers could be related to older FF bosses in one shape or form.
We should have all the weapon bosses from FFVII. Would be an epic challenge I think. Ultima and Omega been in many, I think it would be unique and a good thing to bring them all into FFXIV.
