So yes or no?
I can't personally live without it no matter what job i play so it will automatically take that one slot away and that kind sucks.

Yes I think it should be
I agree. Sprint should be a baseline skill. It is Way to Important. Maybe Bolt could even just be a Faster Sprint that burns some TP and MP. That would make it interesting.
Absolutely. Until 4.0 it was. That was one of the more questionable changes they made.
I'm absolutely baffled that they took Sprint away to begin with. It makes just as much sense as all the other garbage adjustments they've made, I suppose.
Definitely agree. It is weird that sprint (not the pvp sprint) is placed on the pvp hot bars by default, even though it can't be used in pvp areas.
It should be, yes.
Yes it should be.
With the way this games netcode works, sprint should be permanently removed from PvP.
I'd rather keep it the way it is. Netcode kind of blows for everyone to be sprinting around and as already stated, if everyone has it then what's the point.
Once you catch the person then if neither player sprints you will not lose them. Melee have gap closers to help with the catching aspect.
However in a sprint scenario where that player sprints away, the melee pops a sprint to chase, then the melee will get less moves off and/or have no tank cc support due to the increased movement speed. Ever try attacking someone sprinting around a tree? Doing laps around a wall, even, can cause issues.
Frontlines needs it back, just another thing making that game mode less fun.
Feast, ma, it is not really a big deal, if you can sprint, they can sprint, just cancels out and makes the left of melee/tanks harder with it in.
If sprint is a base action you need to give a slow debuff to some classes (and put more stuns) to deal with it, are you really want that? If as a bard they give me a slow I'm totally up for this.
Well bard is mobile ranged job with nasty oGCD based burst who can also use bolt so i see no need for slows/heavies for it, now if you get pulled by tank or something just do a 180 repelling shot to gain distance and then pop bolt if you have issues getting caught in melee.
Reason why Sprint/Bolt should be baseline is to gain that actual choice that we really don't have at the moment bolt is just must have so it takes 50% of choice away, bolt being a baseline would mean we could choose between CC counters and defensive CD's or self-heals.
Not the best example and It's kind of OP I know but my point stand, if anyone has sprint then you need to spread CC's to others classes and means to remove it (like before). If not, then you are better off with removing bolt (the best option if you ask me), we don't need the extra speed, tanks are supposed to cover your escape and if you put yourself in a bad situation you should die not sprint away because it happens that no one can't really stop you.
Also, if everyone has sprint there is no difference, all I have to do is use it after you and pew pew you down, nothing change.
Yes yes and yes
Agreed!

Absolutely agree. Really weird that it was made an optional.
But if the melee uses it during the burst, and the person uses it to escape said burst, (both your first two uses of it), that pretty much just cancels out. Just means it is a bit harder for melee and tanks to get there burst off (as first noted by Koltik). Why should melee and tanks be at this disadvantage. Plus was not new PvP to be simplify things, adding sprint back just moves as back towards old pvp. (not that i would mind, being the pvp of old I preferred)
sprint and purify should be baseline.
I actually don't use sprint on my DRG in PvP. Between jump, dive, and elusive, I have mobility covered. Once you learn how to now jump into a mob of 20 players and pick battles carefully, sprint isn't THAT important. In fact, the most fun thing to do is to snipe someone running away into their crowd with jump + nastrod. Since I'm close enough with jump, nastrod will hit as well. Then I just escape back with elusive with my cheeky little kill.
I feel like people have relied on sprint and purify so much to bail them out of their stupid mistakes that they rather have them back than learn to play without them.
I use sprint as a NIN to out-maneuver my enemy in conjunction with hyoton. Hyoton, and if they don't break it, quickly sprint to their back, LB, assassinate -> most likely ded.
totally agree its one of the basic rights.. is to have sprint in pve/pvp alike.
Considering from what I've seen our PVP hotbar isn't even filled up, where PVE usually uses 2 or more on a cross hotbar. May as well let people have a recuperate/purify and sprint as a main part of the kit. It reduces "We don't see healers PVP" (probably not) and access to one CC ability.
