Scholar Stat weights

As the title says, what are our stat weights for Scholars?
Stacking crit again?

No. Just no.

Square doesn't release this sort of data, it is painstakingly calculated by a select few enthusiasts in the community.
Stat weights change massively with an expansion release, and even then again slightly with ilevel increases.
The stat weights for DPS classes aren't entirely resolved yet, and those come long before healers. In fact, Dervy didn't conclusively determine the final healer weights at all last expansion.

Chances are your answer in the end is, whatever floats your boat, it probably won't make much difference right now.

Crit > D.Hit

I'm using the rule of if I can't get at least 30 crit from a Crit VI then use a Direct hit VI

Other stats are worthless for slotting with materia unless for some reason you REALLY needed the vit to live past something in savage

For DPS? But all we have are dots and broil...I don't think Direct Hit is a good idea. Crit is of course very important for SCH due to the shields and it helping our heals. I'd think SS or Det would be the secondary stat since those would have more of an effect on our ability to heal.

If you are never touching ex or savage content sure. But sch's are expected to dps in 8 main raid enviroments. Direct hit in the slots that you get no or little crit from gives a very big leap in dps because we start at 0 and can get between 6-10% depending on the gear we have. Putting any other stats in is just making the fights harder for your team by having them last longer over barely making your heals better

I'm currently averaging around 2.4k dps as the secondary healer with no pots or food buffs

u know spell speed is exponential and also was the best stat for scholar dps in heavensward right? im not saying crit or direct hit are bad, but spell speed is not in any way useless.
in fact if you dont believe me, i stack spell speed and get orange parses without food or pots as main healer with ast (which has less dots, so ss affects it less than sch) and i use i300 boots, i300 ring and i290 pants. spell speed is probably still the best stat for scholar dps, but critlo and stuff make crit more valuable in other ways i guess

Direct hit should be biggest dps increase, but that not affect for healing skills. Crit is useful for adlo, but using adlo is pretty rare now since mana control not allow us use it much and crit is pretty poor stat until you can stack like 3k for it. Determination would probably be the best choice for both healing and damaging perspective I think. Piety would in theory allow scholar spam more adlo and in that way have better dps uptime. spell speed, well I m not fan of it.

It also depends how much you have to heal and dps. Lets say if you can dps over 80% time in savage, I would meld everything for direct hit.

The general idea with stat weights for the next months will be, that we should try to copy what the healers who end up performing best are doing. There will be data on what melds the top healers in Omega savage are using, so as long as we keep that in mind we can at least avoid getting bad melds.

That said, most of our healing comes from main stats, so unless you're actually doing the hardest endgame content, don't worry about it.

We dont know the stat weights. We do know that Det got a buff, Crit stayed the same, Direct Hit is pretty amazing in certain circumstances, and Spell Speed is the bastard stepchild that nobody except BLM can agree on.

Det is roughly 1% damage and healing boost per 166.67 points.

Crit is roughly 1% change and damage boost per 108.5 points.

Direct Hit is... Complicated.

Spell Speed is ... .. .

At this point, you're guessing, or doing trial and error on dummies and in ex's. Maybe find some well rated scholars on fflogs, and see what they meld?

Det is pretty good this expac. Its very close to direct hit and will affect your Entire toolkit. Later in the expansion when det fails to keep up, you can switch to direct hit. Right now though, det is still behind crit but is pretty close to direct hit, which is good.

What's complicated about direct hit?

Its a flat 25% boost every time it procs every 39 direct hit. Melding 720 direct hit would give you a DPS boost of 4.61% if it were possible. At 720 det being melded 4.31% DPS increase. Losing .3 dps so that your fairy can gain 4.31% more healing power, slightly stonger shields, which both increase mana effeciency, serms to be the better deal.

Personally I love Det right now. I don't know Sch well, and was under the impression Crit benefited them a great deal more.

Direct Hit adds more calculation since you can also Crit Direct Hit, and DoTs can also DH and CDH. The crit/dhit interaction gets messy, but will likely be sorted out soon.

Add in SpS influencing HoT and Dot amplitudes, and it can get complicated.

I'm a tad torn, but I think I'm leaning towards DET more than anything.

Crit used to be fantastic for SCHs due to it's amazing synergy with Adlo, but with Adlo being such a sparse cast right now due to it's heavy MP cost, is it worth stacking crit for that and our DPS, since DH is better for DPS?

DH is great for DPS, but on progression you won't have 100% uptime on DPSing, especially with the expac and the changes to SCH as is.

Nah Crit is garbage since it was changed to 5/40 base.

DET/SS/DH is going to be so close as a DPS stat for healers.

I would recommend at least 1 T6 DH meld regardless since the DH base is 0% that would at least give you the possibility to hit a DH.

It's worth stacking Crit and Det. They effect our DPS, our healing, and our fairy's Embrace. DH only effects DPS which we cannot do 100% of the time.
