Shirogane Houses, for FC only?

At the start? or for private as well?

can anyone confirm?

It will be for both, all the housing is.

I figure that most houses will be gone in around 2 minutes and the last of them, wherever they may be due to moving, will be gone in 5 minutes. Best of luck to anybody who is participating in the land rush!

Be sure to keep an eye on the old housing areas, as well. A lot of folks are going to be MOVING their house to Shirogane, and that will open up slots in the old areas that folks may be slower to capitalize on.

I'm pretty sure they are still looking in to that.

In the Fan Fest, Yoshida told that he is looking if they will open for everyone or will put some kind of limitation.

In my opinion, they should open first for FC, since 1 plot can house a lot of players.

They have not confirmed one way or another. Yoshida mentioned they may only allow FC housing purchases first, but that he wanted to review things beforehand. If they don't mention it on the Live Letter tomorrow, it'll be touched on when housing releases.

If they do allow only FC's go to first then it would pretty much be making it FC only (Not that I have an issue with that). There is no way there would be any plots left open for individual players

The only thing I don't like about FC housing is that essentially only masters of FCs can decorate the house.

Or anyone that they give permissions to. They can create ranks and give them whatever access they want(company chest, invites/dismissal, actions, furnishings, etc)

if Shirogane is released as FC only, there would be plots opening up in the other 3 zones for players. it would seem impossible for them to also lock that down.

I don't have an issue with that either.

when will Shirogane open up do we know yet? I'll probably upgrade my home in lavender beds to a medium one depending on how many move.

The salt on the forums will be extreme that's for sure lol

Does anyone know about apartments? Will those be added as well alongside housing?

I already have a mansion and I don't like how small the lawns look in Shirogane, so it's no skin off my back. But if they release it for FC's only first, not a single plot will be left for individual players. They'll be gone 5 minutes after the servers go up. Well... I'm sure there will be lots of 2 person FC's or alt FC's that purchase the plots, so I suppose they could be sort-of counted as individual players? lol

One thing I hope is they actually implement house moving upon launch, so FC's are able to upgrade without losing everything. I happen to have a larger plot than my FC, but that's only because no one wanted to give up airships etc.

Housing in Shirogane will work as housing in any other residential area. Costs and access will be exactly the same and yes there will be apartments as well.

If they do make Shirogane FC only when it first opens, I sincerely hope that they do not announce it before the servers go down. If people have time to prep beforehand then (even more than normal) people will have 1-person 'shell FCs' ready and waiting to swoop in and get houses for their private use, completely defeating the purpose.

That being said, that's a huge 'if' and I highly doubt they will make it FC only.

I really hope they don't give priority to FCs. I want a personal mansion. :(

It would take quite a lot of prep time beforehand. You can't just create an FC and buy a house with it. There's also the step of getting that FC up to rank 8 first, which is a significant undertaking with only one player's activities to contribute to rank points. Possible, of course, but I suspect that the majority of those who could do it already have their FC anyway.

At least, FC houses are active and useful.

Have they clarified if the prices will remain the same on the day of release (eyeing a large plot) or even if the other wards' prices will reflect that of the 1st ward if the prices DO stay the same?

Rank 6 and it really doesn't take that long to get there solo, much less time if you have any help at all.

The prices are supposed to remain the same as all the other districts.

It's a moot point. Housing in Shirogane is not going to be any different than any other residential area. Speculating that it might be different without any reason to think it will be is just going to make people worry over nothing. Relax, chill out, and be ready to jump on your Shirogane property once they allow housing purchases there.

As much as I don't want to defend RPers entitlement, that's pretty biased. Most RP takes place in private homes. As well as being FC only enforces that any solo/NonFC players are locked out of Shirogane forever basically. The only way I approve of this is if they were to create different wards altogether only for FCs. That's basically locking out a huge portion of the userbase from a huge feature of the game.

People voiced their concerns about the fact that, on populated servers, FC might still not be able to get access to housing even with Shirogane, because of individual housing.
Yoshi-P said that they were still in the process of deciding what the best course of action would be. So yes, Shirogane might be FC exclusive for a short time.

"A short time"? Basically it's forcing private housing people to pay 3/4/5x the amount FC get to pay... how is that "fair"?

Honestly they made their bed by allowing both. They need to just lie in it because making it exclusive on either side is just going to be unfair in the current setup.

it's not supposed to be fair. FC houses have additional features and FC houses in theory are supposed to be used by more people.

No. When Yoshi said they were "deciding what the best course of action should be" he was not referring to making the new residential zone FC only. He was merely indicating that the issue of FC's not having access to housing was on their radar. Making Shirogane FC exclusive would do little to nothing to address the issue of FC's lacking housing nor would it prevent single person FC's from scooping up those houses.

Shirogane will be no different from any othe residential zone as far as access and costs. Trying to stir up a phantom issue is only going to get people scared over nothing.

Any action they take in regards to FC's having access to housing will in all likelihood be in the form of providing some sort of apartment-style FC instanced housing.

oh man. It's almost as if SE SPECIFICALLY locked off shirogane in the first place so EVERYONE would have a fair shot at a plot.



...the heck is up with the doom and gloom about what kind of housing will come first? none of them will. Shirogane is locked off for a reason guys. No one gets special treatment

I'm well aware that you don't just register an FC and then immediately buy a house, but you don't have to get it up to rank 8, either. It's actually very easy to do, hence why so many people already do it. Either way, my point stands that if they make the new ward FC only at the start, they need to hold off announcing it until the very last minute. Otherwise it would completely negate such a restriction.

Again, I highly doubt it's going to be limited to FCs anyway, so the argument is likely moot.

I'm saying FCs are already have a pretty obvious advantage. They don't need a further advantage just because there's extra stuff for FCs.

But let's say the cost was upped to 5 billion gil for a small FC house, 50 billion gil for a medium FC house, and 500 billion gil for a large FC house, would that negate said advantage in your eyes? Remember we're talking British billion here, so 5'000'000'000'000 gil for a small. Do you think that would stop the problem with regards to solo FCs?

I made a personal fc and had it up to rank 6 in two hours. If I can do it that quick, you can bet there's a lot of people that already did it too.

Locking Shirogane to FCs only won't solve the housing problems.
