POTD made much laggy in Shouth shroud?

Got frustration when I mining or botanist.
I teleported in Shouth shroud. Noticed the "load" thing sooo lag. (Other zones never have any lag.)

I thought it was a reason that many players were stay in Quarrymill POTD.

(Myself never try POTD. Since POTD don't have "finder?"

Palace of the Dead has its own duty finder matchmaker accessible only in Quarrymill due to it working fundamentally different from the normal duties.

There's nothing to fix. It simply takes a bit longer to load the area. Which is something you'll encounter often when you reach the endgame hub.

If there's a lot of lag then the fault lies with your computer. It's not up to snuff to handle that many players.

Never had any problems when i go to the area.

It'd be nice if they could so something. I have had couple FC members stuck in South Shroud since attempting to teleport out of there has lead to cycle of 90k errors.

Its pretty bad in Odin, practically unplayable and its about as off-peak as it gets right now

I mean it's been like that since POTD release. Just amplified thanks to all the returnees, transfers, RDM and SAM players... It does suck but will die down as people get out of their leveling process, or the new deep dungeon releases.

If you have a decent computer, it doesnt lag at all. Its all related to your specs on your PC.

Nothing to do with your PC, I've been and out of Quarry mill perfectly fine when leveling to 50, but now I can't do anything. Everything take ages to do. For example mounting takes like 10 seconds, but once I teleport out (which hangs for a while too), it's fine, zero issues. Only happens in Shout Shroud near Quarry, even had people shouting in chat if anyone else is getting the issue, so it's more widespread than one persons PC.

Many people play this game on laptops and older PC's. Those PC's can't handle higher player counts. Also accounts as to mass DC'd during Odin/Ixion fates and S ranks.

They could just add instances like they did with Stormblood areas.

So because it doesn't affect people with really good computers and/or connections, it shouldn't be looked at ?
That's kind of selfish.

You don't even seem to care whether or not the OP meets the minimum or recommended system requirements. If he does, then either SE needs to update that or they need to consider doing something about it.

It's not like it hurts to just ask SE to consider doing something about it; They can either think of a solution or ignore the request if they don't think it's worth looking into.

PS: I don't have any issues with lag in that area, but I have the ability to empathize with others.

Well, my point was, theres nothing SE can really do to fix it other than the options they already give you. You can set the number of shown players to a certain limit (sys config, other settings, display limits), beyond that, while you may meet the minimum specs required, you may not be able to play in heavily populated areas well. SE already has moved the minimum specs up.

I have friends who play on toasters, I sympathize with them, but MMO's are, in general, CPU heavy programs, and a lot of people, while havent decent video cards, have not so great CPUs for the task of showing many chars on screen. Its just the way it works.

And maybe that person's computer meets those new specs and is still having issues. You don't actually know what s/he has.
You also didn't mention any of those options before. What if the person doesn't know they exist? You just went straight about the computer and nothing else. That's the difference that determines whether a comment is useful or not.

Also there is something they could do about it other than the options already available, they could consider making POTD something queueable (doesn't have to be DF, could be its own new system menu) rather than use an NPC.
Would that require them to change things? Yes, but it is something they could do if they wanted to put the resources into it. That's for SE to think about.

the zone is basically dead, every 2nd attempt to load into it results in a 90k error. If it finaly loads after ages, you can do like nothing, except watching other ppl to dc and to hope that thats not gonna happen to you...

thats south shroud the past 2 days on odin, so stop talking bs about bad pcs without having witnessed the situation ...
Some S ranks or big fates broke entire zones for days, without ppl beeing inside of it (hi ruby sea instance 1), its the same that happens
with south shroud rn.
