Definitely agree. Titan-egi went from being my "tank" while I did things solo to being outright fodder.
I would appreciate it if they made it so the chocobo would heal him...

Once had a bot in Toto-Rak while I was leveling Arcanist on this character and no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't keep that string of code alive. Nothing worked, not even me helping to sub in heals. So rather than kick the bot and inflict it on another party, not to mention inflict a tank queue upon ourselves, we all mutually agreed that I should summon Titan-Egi to be our new tank. It was amazing. Titan-Egi saved the day. Titan-Egi died for our sins.

(And yes it desperately needs a buff for solo content)

I don't even play SMN and I support this. Chicken nugget is the best, and deserves to be fixed. I'm still lost on why sustain was removed, but I wonder if just baking sustains effect permanently into Titan would be acceptable.
Or just give sustain back. That'd work.
Aside from the problems with the loss of sustain another often missed issue with Titan-egi now is, if you are soloing at level 70 and reach the point wherein you can summon Bahamut you are punished by losing your tank if you do so. Even if Titan-egi reappears afterwards, he has no enmity and is basically useless as a tank. If you decide not to trigger Bahamut, you cannot access a lot of your abilities since your aether stacks are tied up indefinitely until you do.
Think they should left summoner's alone and just gave them better ability's. Its pretty bad when titan-egi looses to monster 5 levels below it soloing when I'm attacking another. It use to be able to handle groups of monsters.
SMN at Lvl 70 suffers for solo play. Bahamut is required for dps, but doesn't take titan aggro and when titan returns he has 0 aggro and most likely won't get it back
just use ifrit or garuda egi and cross class drain when you need to solo things. Waaaaay faster than doing things with titan egi ever was.
I'd prefer if it just got reworked instead, tbh. Nobody else has a "pocket tank" as an integral part of their kit; why do Summoners? I'd much rather they make him relevant than keep bandaid buffing things like his defense or enmity so he has some kind of bogus niche in soloing A ranks or boss FATEs. Make him a buff pet, an AOE-oriented pet, SOMETHING - I don't even use him anymore, it's just faster and easier to kill the mob with a damage pet than limp along with Titan-Egi, IMO. If this game had a plethora of open-world solo content to explore I'd feel his design has merit, but given that everything meaningful is locked behind group content that requires a tank anyway I just don't see why people are still clinging to this hyper-niche function of his. I'd rather have Titan be a non-troll choice in dungeon or raid content more than I'd rather be able to cheese hunts. Maybe that's just me.
SMN was seriously over-nerfed this time. Going by experience, it won't get fixed soon, if ever. Now we have a tank pet that can't tank and a DPS pet that has had her dps nerfed along with the SMN itself which has lost most of our aoe damage. Typical of SE to go way overboard.
I tried to see how far I could go in an unsynched lvl 60 dungeon. I nearly died at three trash mobs..not only can I not heal Titan, it also cant keep aggro. My DPS was way too much and it lost aggro on the monsters really fast. I was running in circles like a headless chicken and only survived with 1% of my life..three lvl 60 dungeon trash mobs as a lvl70 summoner. That hurt. I stood no chance against the boss. Even my scholar was able to hold out longer against the boss but a summoner has no good heal, no good defense and we also cant use our lvl 70 skill if we want Titan to keep aggro.
Without titan I was even more in pain with these three trash monsters..because they all went to me and none cared about my DPS egis..A friend of mine went in with a lvl 61 tank..he survived the trash monsters too..and he was not even lvl 70.
I am not even sure how we ever should be able to beat PotD now..even with the new potions..
Or they could balance things better and not leave chicken nugget behind. I'm sure people miss sustain like no other and are tired of using garuda for every single thing like they have been for years. why give multiple pets when one is superior?

Ifrit is actually better in a typical raid composition, FYI. It's not really the devs' fault that people don't bother reading pet abilities and conceptualizing which Egi is a better choice for which scenario. That being said, Titan-Egi isn't really a good choice for any scenario, IMO, because any scenario in which you honestly require a tank is content where you're going to have one anyway. This is why I'd really like to see him reworked into something more valuable for party comps. People seem really clingy to the idea of him being a pocket tank though, for reasons I can't grasp. Is soloing A ranks or cheesing PoTD that important to people?
They have an opportunity to add some utility to SMN's Devotion, as it stands it's just a lazy, each pet does the same thing ability.
The way SMN devotion currently works, it's just a 15 second duration, however I would change it to allow the Summoner to pick a target.
Garuda could boost Magic/Healing/Range dmg for 15 second on said target
Ifrit could boost melee dmg for 15 second on said target
Titan could reduce dmg taken by say 5% on said target for again 15 seconds.
I don't think utility like this would break the game or imbalance it in any way and it would at least bring some use to each egi as the situation calls for it.
This is what I find odd. Self heals got axed or nerfed to high hell for many jobs with the removal of the old system. Yet, solo content options still exist in the game like fates or PotD.
I say Melee DPS should get Second Wind on a 2.5 cooldown similar to Physick costing in range 8-70TP depending on the level.
Summoner should get auto regen trait for pet.
Maybe they are finally going to overhaul classes and actually make them better than jobs for solo stuff? Probably not though since every job doesn't have a class form lol.
Rework titan into a ranged like garuda but gives the summoner a permanent cover status until the egi dies. That way single target dps is soaked by the egi but unavoidable aoe damage commonly in raids will still hit the summoner. If you want utility make it so you can pick who he teathers to and he takes 50% of their damage for them or so.
