Was running low on Seafood Stew so decided I'd go do some Ephemeral farming to get Duskbornes, note I haven't touched them since before SB launched. Well doing my usual rotation to get 390ish reducibles and then reducing, I found I didn't get a single Duskborne. I reduced over 30 Radiant Fire Moraines and about 20 or so Black Soils; nothing.
Have I just been tremendously unlucky or has something changed that I'm not aware of?

Brim, your link is talking about Dusklight Aethersand, not Duskborne Aethersand.
I'd have to search through my bookmarks to find the rotation I used for Duskborne and Dawnborne Aethersands.
I have run into the same problem. I have reduced around 40 items using the same rotation I normally use and I haven't received a single duskborne.
Anyone figure out how to get them now? I still haven't gotten any since Stormblood
The better question is why bother collecting those anymore? The new ones are disgustingly easy to gather if you have a fisher.
Because you need the duskborne sands still to craft items from Heavensward?
For those that haven't been getting the sands, have you been limited your rotation so that it doesn't reach 5/8 anomaly rating? For when Dawnborne sand starts appearing. Limiting the table of possible drops can help immensely.
Been trying different things, tried the ~3 purity rotation for hours and got a total of 0, then tried the 8 purity rotation on the level 56 items and got

Tried it on the level 60 item and got landborne.

Seems like they raised the purity requirement to get duskborne.

And of course, SE being SE they didn't elaborate on what was changed.
I've been doing some tests, extensive tests on 3 purity, though not so extensive on the others, and so far I've noticed:
Duskborne is now only available from the level 56 item, from 5 to 8 purity.
Dawnborne is now only available from the level 58 item, from 5 to 8 purity.
Land/Leaf/Seaborne are now only available from the level 60 item (NOT the starred one) of the respective class, from 5 to 8 purity.
Note there are no more "hidden" items, all 4 items are visible all the time.
Again I still haven't done very extensive tests, but with the little I've tested seems like you won't get the "useless" sands when you're trying to farm dawnborne, but it also means duskborne now got harder to farm as you now need to spend extra GP for 5+ purity.
Anyone have any idea how i could fish for them? All i seem to be getting is the dawnborne and i use to get the duskborne from the Pteranodons but no more :( Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Random note on SB aethersands, prob applies to HW as well, but it seems like there's a difference of yield between +5 and +6, but yield seems to be the same between +6 and +8, instead increasing HQ rate.
So +5 would be min yield NQ, +6 would be optimal yield if you don't care about quality, +7 optimal yield with low HQ rate, +8 optimal yield with very high (max?) hq rate.
