The Anthem At The End [Spoilers]

When everyone sings at the end of the MSQ ontop of the garden area, I can't watch that scene without becoming a wreck and welling up. It's just so beautifully done. Everyone there united, for those who watched every cutscene and didn't rush to the end. It means so much to everyone, all the ARR players, the people who joined at HW and SB, that scene just works on every level, it means something to everyone. Everyone can relate to the lyrics. The freedom we have worked so hard to achieve.

There is something about this expansion that evokes feelings of the early great games 6, 7 and 8. It's almost like the spirit of FF which some (in their opinion) feels lost in 13 and 15, actually continues to live in in this MMO.

I like the song. It sounds like the same one the Garleans sang earlier, just different lyrics. O7 Hope it releases on the Orc...orche.....stereo soon.

We need the Parade anthem from FF7 in the game.

That moment would have been so much better if the WoL had a voice actor aswell. Now it feels like I am lip syncing so people wont know I suck at singing.

(Actually it seems like it was only Ala Mhigans that moved their mouths. She was just the first I noticed to not be singing.)

I vastly prefer the Garlean version. It has much more weight and passion to it. I suppose it doesn't help that the Ala Mhigans did very little to make themselves endearing.

There were actually several people that weren't singing.
In other words, if you're Ala Mhigan, you know the song, if not, just stand there and look pretty lol

I thought it was super corny. It just turned into a musical lol

Its because the song is actually the Ala Mhigan national anthem - Garlemald co-opted it and stole it from them when they conquered Ala Mhigo. If you watch the cutscene closesly, the only people singing are the Ala Mhigans.

Garlemald anthem is the most epic, musically, and meaningful, lyrically, song in the entire game.
I just wish they let us choose factions( Garlemald vs Alliance) and I would fight for the Empire gladly.

When did they all rehearse? They all started at the same time without so much as a countdown. Do Ala Mhigans have some sort of psychic connection to each other that causes them to spaz out and try to summon Rhalgr?

We don't need factions. We just need the development team to accept that Garlemald has a significant fan following and deserves a better fate than to have every prominent Garlean either go crazy, become a defector or die after being established as a pretty honourable individual. Now that the story is finally moving away from Eorzean there's no need to focus solely upon Eorzea's perspective - especially given how biased it often is.

They can make it as biased as they like.
All reasonable, non politically correct braindead SJW people, understand the importance of Garlemald in advancing the civilization through sheer force. You know, like in ANY time in history(fantasy or reality), that they actual civilization was boosted forward.

No you have it wrong. ;) This is originally from Ala Mhigo and Garlemald used it after they conquered the state and wrote their own version for it.

(Praise the empire that makes experiments on people, want to wipe out the whole sentient beast tribes, see any others than their own race as below them..yeah totally nice empire. But hey even in real life people are loving states like the Third Reich so I should not be surprised. And no I am not saying that one is a follower of something like that in real life..just that they are totally like such states)

@OP: I am going to be honest. I found it quite strange. Not only was I annoyed that Lyse was the one standing in the front while we were the ones that defeated Zenos, so they should have let the WoL stay in the front too. Also somehow all understood what will happen and suddenly every Ala Mhigo started to sing? It felt a little awkward. Would have loved if we had a party to celebrate our victory and at the end of it they would have sang that. It would have made more sense for me.

Man i just wanted to be friends with Zenos at the end there. When HE called me his friend is when i teared up. Think about it, if the WoL and Zenos, enemies becoming friends and ruling all together. Plus i really want his armor set

SE did not disappoint.

This leads to the obvious next questions.....

1. What are the other sung non-instrumental Alliance Anthems?

2. And when can we get them and the Ala Mhigan one for the Orc?


Hunt seals for the Ishgardian, Ala Mhigan, and Doman? And GC seals for Limsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah maybe?

I really liked the anthem, but I wondered why the Ala Mhigans would want a song that was originally Garlean, but with their own lyrics...

Then I remembered that the Star Spangled Banner tune originated from a 1700s drinking song and My Country Tis of Thee is based on a British song. *shrug* :)

I think its strange its found corny, the war is won and the anthem is sung in celebration.

They were proud of their nation after 20 long years and finally had a chance to sing their anthem in unity.

Yes, I can imagine this is so drawn from live. No Idea how this can feel corny.

The Empire's Anthem should use Darth Vader theme though.

Because the whole scene felt strange to me. We defeat Zenos, he kills himself and suddenly everyone walks in a formation (with us being behind Lyse even though we were the one that defeated him). Then we somehow meet the scions, that are just looking and nodding and then the leaders of the city states which also just look and nod and suddenly everyone is in that formation, goes over and suddenly everyone starts to sing..I would have liked some kind of party, where we see lots of people together, some nice speech from the leaders and then at the end they could sing it. It just felt so scripted and not really real.
