Make S ranks immune to damage after spawning. You did it for Ixion.

So on my server we have an individual ruining S ranks for everyone else. It's to the point where that's all he does to feed off the hate he receives all day everyday just to laugh at people. He plays this game to purely see other people feel cheated out of S ranks and honestly should be reported as such for being so toxic.

Since SE cant make up their minds on if hunts should be competitive or cooperative and we cant report this individual and his goons for ruining it for everyone, even more so now with an achievement that requires 2k S rank kills I would love to see a 5m immunity added on S ranks after they spawned to prevent this toxic behavior to some degree.

Some might call this hand holding but you know what? SE already took out feast chat, they removed the option to see buffs on other players to stop micromanaging. I don't believe this is so far fetched as to put it out of the realm of possibility with the way they want to hand hold things these days.

I'm just trying to make it fair for everyone.

If he actually types something in chat towards people you can and should be reporting for harassment. Even if it's a /laugh emote that can be reported especially if it's spammed. I've heard people get in trouble for spamming the /slap emote on someone. SE will never ban anyone for pulling hunts etc. but they always investigate chat log reports.

And yes, it is quite silly that early pulls can still happen when they have tied so many achievements to hunts now.

He is probably just defending the exclusivity of the tiger mount he has or soon will have. That, in my book, is a valid reason because this game, and SE, has taught me that its really only about the individual gain at the cost of anything else ;)

Would like to see a 10-15 min no target timer like they do in some fates. Take 2 min to zone into most these zones. or take the s rank requirement off the tiger mount and make it just x amount of hunts instead. Something needs happen it getting real toxic even on the 4.0 S ranks

Maybe they just need mechanics more like Agrippa. Watched a 70 getting his face smashed in trying to solo that one.

The best thing the Hunt community on your server could do is sit back and watch him get destroyed by the S rank.

Then, kill it when he has to respawn at his home point.

Be sure to spread the memo to every Hunt LS possible.

The S rank spawned. Let's say Agrippa. Someone popped an Alexandrite map for the sake of Alexandrite and went on their merry way. 10 minutes have passed before someone came to look for Agrippa. He is now without that immunity. What do?
Similarly, Ixion effectively can be pre-pulled, the person who found him just has to have the ash. It's not that hard to do even on your lonesome.

I agree with the notion, but this won't solve it. Only thing we really can hope for is SE either revising the ToS regarding hunts (unlikely imo, nor should they, we're not obligated to share these things), or doing something else like increasing spawn rates, at least for ARR hunts. It won't help with these guys but it'll open up more opportunities.

They could also change all S rank hunts to level 70.

I don't know about on your server but on mine it is very rare that a S rank spawns without at least one active hunter knowing about it right away so immunity would solve it for us.

Ixion's "immunity" is part of the lore... the whole point of getting the ash in the first place. Sounds more like a personal demand than an actual thought out suggestion. I'm pretty sure feast chat being limited is to avoid players being atomic levels of toxic to each other...

While I've heard of this individual, I haven't seen exactly what it is he does (since I've never particularly cared about Hunts, and the Tiger mount achievement is too ridiculous for me to even begin to care), but if it's just continuously pulling and resetting the Hunt, letting him get slaughtered wouldn't solve much. And if it's an ARR S rank, those can be solo'd with the exception of maybe 1, so. Again, not sure what it is he actually does, but I've seen the /shout chat about him before while out gathering.

Make the hunt enrage rapidly if there are players nearby, but a disproportionate number is not actively engaged in combat with it. Which means, it will promptly chew up the puller if the other players agree to simply watch him die. Simplest solution I can think of.

...and open another way to annoy people.

I'd say it's good as it is. Players can cooperate but they can also try to steal kill from others. I always liked that aspect of MMOs where you could be the bad guy (without breaking ToS). Playing against you doesn't equal to griefing.

Hunts are meant to be competitive. They always have been been. There's no such thing as early pulling because of that. And that's why the devs never punish anyone for doing it.

In a round about way you could technically report people for posting hunt locations on linlshells and waiting for loads of people to turn up. Because there the ones exploiting the system and not doing hunts the way they are meant to be done....

Best thing they could do with hunts is lock them out so only the party / alliance that has attacked the mark can fight it. Anyone else gets invalid target. Kinda like if you try to kill someone else's level mobs it won't let you engage them.

This would actually promote the fact it's meant to be competitive as well as help keep things challenging. Rather than that a brainless throw enough bodies at it till it's dead.

The alternative is that lvl 50 doesn't get a hit on the boss because a group of endgame players charged in and melted it. You can't have open world content be both lvl 50 and endgame at the same time (except fates I guess), and currently, that's what it is.

I actually quite like this idea, perhaps not immune to damage for the sake of let everyone waiting but something to make fights a little more fun and dynamic.

No please. I don't want to see zones crashing because of some mechanic that makes people wait more than they should. Why do you think there's still instances for Ixion and they had to increase the amount of horns?

This is a hunt, it's not intended for everyone to get there and congest the zones.

How do you know he's doing it for kicks?

All it takes is everyone participating in the hunt to be in agreement that if someone pulls early to let them die to the hunt and then kill it when they're dead and so they miss out instead. They will probably rethink their actions if they that happens a couple of times.

"all it takes" is something quite difficult to do. you are basically asking 100+ players to not attack something.
That will very rarely work. when one person aggros it, nearly everyone wil be thinking "oh shit, if that guy attacked it, everyone else will to" and he will attack it because he doesnt want to lose credit. when 100+ people think that, 100+ people will attack it at once.
thats just how it works.

Then maybe hunts need the same solution to that problem that FATEs use. Back when the hunt system was new and 50 was endgame level, they didn't need a level sync for them, but by now, maybe they do. Level Sync the level 50 and 60 hunts like they would FATEs. (With both those levels having had a wide range of Item Levels, it would still leave players over-powered for them, but not to the extent that a well-geared level 70 player is against a level 50 hunt mark.)

If hunts were truly meant to be competitive then not a single person would stand a chance at getting the tiger mount. And yet there it is.

Well, let's use our imaginations for a sec. If a hunt knew that more players will arrive soon, and give it a "good fight", if the hunt crowd of players surrounding it would just wait for a bit, and it really really longs a nice good fight, then it won't even properly engage you until both you and it, the hunt, come to some sort of mutual consensus of rules of engagement. So if programmable, yes, a "smart" hunt that adjusts its difficulty depending on the number of ppl attacking it, being eligible to drop some hunt-specific rare rewards and items (like minions, materials, etc.) if it is happy that it got to have a nice big fight with many players (thus enticing players to wait for more people to do the kill together), and adding extra abilities and "savage mode hunt" to make it more "fun" while more people are fighting it.

The hunt would fight less "passionately" and be weaker if a small party of people tried to fight it at very early or late server hours where there's not that many people awake for a hunt, but in compensation it will respawn sooner so more people will have a chance to go at it again, and also because the hunt "didn't get a good fight" and comes back sooner looking for more fight (and fun). The hunt will also have some sort of "cross-realm a.i." listening in on other hunts, so if a chain-hunt is happening, the hunt will adjust its "expectations" depending on how many people, how fast, and how popular the other hunts in other regions got killed ... and make a mental note of how to prepare. So if you show up at its door and promptly start pounding it it will of course be happy you came, but will not be too pleased that you started "too promptly", and will likely carelessly swap you aside, or "hunker down"/"kite and cc us around" and simply refuse to properly take damage and fight, until the main groups can arrive. Of course if the main group takes too much time to arrive, more than the average time the other hunts had to wait, or whatever is "reasonable", then this hunt will likely realize this is about as many people as it'll get for this fight and "agree" to fight as is, or at a lower "threshold" of the dynamic difficulty. And if it hears whispers in the wind of many people still coming and some early puller starting at it, it'll get really really angry, and promptly chew up that early puller and spit'em out at the feet of the not-very-amused hunt crowd either, as an example to all you early pullers who would "cheat" a hunt out of a good fight, and players of their hunt! XD

well I agree with Niwashi about the fate for all the S ranks like odin and Ixion fate that need everyone effort even if u pulled without a proper heal u die like a bug. Square-enix team need to balance it through fate system that will enable new and returned players to participate its also give time to people to zone to that area without fearing that they cant get accredit for it

They're open world content.
There's no such thing as early pulling.
They are not designed for the entire server to come kill.
If you want to kill them, go out and hunt for them.
Any callouts from others through means of hunt linkshells and the like are a courtesy at best. Hey I do it too, I call them out and wait for people to show up, but I'll never be mad if I missed one because I was too late.

I mean... Boost Potions do exist for a reason now... Just saying.

Going through this right now in my server. I understand they are the ones that spawned it, and I get that they have the right to that mark my only "beef" is there is zero communication with them and others and there are others that are trying to get that "S-Rank" achievement. If there are people that dare go and start attacking the S-Rank they get upset and will say stop calling "dead- hunts" when they were the ones that pulled it themselves. While there are other moments when someone else (Not the four people that consistently do it) will spawn an S-Rank and as soon as the four people get in, instant pull no waiting just for 2 minutes. I do feel that at least a two minute timer when the S-Ranks spawns is great. They also go to a hunt tracker website and will report bad times for when the S-Ranks are spawned. It has caused a lot of conflict and even a undeserved ban of a player that was trying to help others get the S-Rank.

It's designed for a team, not for a server.

Edit: Oh this is an old topic. Man...

On Zodiark we have many problems with a single person soloing S Ranks pre-Stormblood and its getting frustrating, many hunters dont even bother teleporting to the target since it will go down in seconds anyway.

Its a gift from the gods self if you happen to see people waiting more than one minute before attacking a hunt and since i need around 55secs to teleport to the area (Lag + slow pc and dont forget that even when i come to the area, the monster wont load because of load order) i doubt i will ever get more than 70 As (have 63) and 20 Ss (have 19) or getting the Tiger in less than 5 years

On Hyperion I call out SB hunts and wait for people to come help.... no one shows up.... I actually helped 4 man a SB A Rank the other day because there was no one else coming. If I see an ARR hunt, I kill it on-sight. I am not waiting for everyone to show up, especially since I am passively hunting.

some guy the other day complained that another person early pulled an ARR S rank too early when we had like 40 people there. like really. if you want the hunts hunt them yourself or hurry ur ass to the called out location. if you dont get there in time for a call out oh well, you didnt want the kill enough if you weren't hunting it yourself and blaming someone that wants to get on with their hunting or just day in general is dumb.

Yeah this is an old thread, but I'm finally getting on to the forums because S rank hunting is getting really out of hand and toxic. PLEASE implement an invulnerability system to make S rank creatures immune to damage for a set about of minutes. In my opinion, even 5 minutes should be enough to login, teleport, and fly to the location of the S rank. In-game chat and Linkshells are getting really toxic and nasty from people throwing blame and accusations at each other.

They're going to have to do something about this sooner or later due to the power creep making everything die faster and faster.

We've had multiple instances of spending tons of time spawning a hunt, only to have some random passerby immediately start attacking it before we could even locate it and while it's always had HP to spare by the time we found it, that isn't going to be the case down the line and it hardly seems fair to not even a shot at something you put in all the effort to spawn.

Simply turning the S ranks into hidden FATEs and forcing level sync on them would go a long ways in alleviating the hunting salt and also make it a more enjoyable activity overall by making them present an actual challenge.

I agree, and please implement a in-gane hunt-tracker as well.

All I want to be able to know is if an S rank is inside or it's variable spawn window.

I consider myself to be a reasonable person, but I'm sorry I can't agree with you here. You're saying that S ranks should be held long enough for people that aren't actually in game at the time to log in and partake?

Personally I think the only people who have any cause to complain about missing one, are those who are actively trying to spawn it. Yet you get people who NEVER do this, and don't even search for A ranks complaining about missing out.

If I am not actively hunting and I see an S rank called then I will drop everything and head there, and 9 times out of 10, if I react immediately, I will make it in time. But if I miss it I certainly don't cry foul. I've been at S Ranks where the wait has been 5 minutes and you still get people shouting about early pulls.

S rank should scale to the persons max level class so lvl 50/60 can start hunting for those if they want and so people in groups of 8 just don't go around spawning S ranks by themselves and telling no one,making it a little harder for them to do it with just one or two groups
also a buff to recent A/S ranks would be a nice idea,they get power creeped out every one or two major patches later
