the rudeness of some people are unbelievable!

All was going good with 50-60 dungeon roulette and right before leaving duty for leveling my samurai....

I get this tell in party chat:

(Some guy) Dude, Samurai is such a brain dead easy class, how are you such a colossal ???? up at it?

we neither wiped, nor ran into issues....bosses all cleared in one try. my hate is on par with dragoon......

So....WTF? usually this type of thing does not bother me it was beyond rude.

People who act that way hate themselves. Just keep moving forward.

Honestly you're not going to see them again unless they are on your server, so why bother with a witch hunt? Prolly some troll that got what they wanted, which is a rise out of you.

They maybe thought this because you were "on par with the DRG" which is currently considered the "weakest Melee"... or so the trend says? I dunno, don't really like that kind of mindset...
SAM may be quite the powerhouse... but I think its a bit biased to see them as such on the 50/60 versions :/

You're gonna want to remove that person's name or a mod will see it and you'll get banned. Calling people out by name isn't allowed on the forums.

Glad I barely read chat much esp when im in voice with other players, take it with a grain of salt though you may someday see this person again but probably not.

You maybe were legit doing bad dps.
That doesn't excuse the insulting way of saying it. But if I were you I'd take a buddy who could parse and see where I'm at in comparison to other players in that same dungeon.

There are idiots out there for sure - my most weird moment back in the days (2.0 Relict weapon lightfarming tier) was a tank who tries to kick a ft leaf cause he slowed us down a bit - "I don't have time for this, u'll understand if you are on my lvl!" - result: we kicked the tank instead. This mindset just doesn't fit a mmo - go and play offline titles...

I'm usually extremely nice with everyone including new comers. Including the ones that die often on the first try. At the end of the day, their lives are probably stressful enough as is. They come to FFXIV to have fun, no need for me or anyone else to make it super hard on them especially if it's roulette. I'm more likely to argue with people who are being toxic for no reason.

There is the occasional use of ''fuck'' in my head when I see someone type in chat ''i'm new'',usually because i'm probably there to be in and out, and they usually want to watch all of the cutscenes. But i'm never mean if they take longer, I deal with it.

Except this one Au ra girl in Kugane, I slapped her because she was being racially insensitive towards Hyurs, and I told her that her ancestors ate flies.

I think the person was telling you your DPS numbers sucked without trying to reveal that he was using a 3rd party APP. That way if you reported him he could defend himself by saying you were just standing around and doing nothing.

It might be your dps. I have been in parties where the samurai got out dps by my drk and a monk with 1400 dps in ex Susano but I would never call ppl out. Just vote abandon.

That's my opinion as well. It sounds exactly what someone with a parser would say to skirt around the trouble they would get into for using one.

Yeah best bet is to just let it go and move on. Some people are just bad people. Honestly, I don't get why someone else's DPS in a random dungeon even matters? It's not like they're that difficult, especially the old 50/60 ones. I basically carried a group yesterday because the other DPS wasn't pulling their weight, but we didn't wipe of anything, so I just said GG.

Then again, these are the same sort of people who expect people to have every Primal fight normal and EX memorized and mastered within a week of the game coming out, even if they havent played it before. An FC member told me he went off on a guy who was raging about new players in a normal Lakshmi group.

/blacklist add jerk's name here. Be happy and go on with life. Mean people aren't worth fretting over. If you think your dps isn't high enough then go practice on a dummy until you feel comfy. SAM is new and you're learning how to play it properly. don't let some jerk ruin your day. :)

From my understanding DPS charts (the PC users only) are "overlooked" by the devs, but not publicly condoned.
However, if someone harrasses you over DPS bc they run one then yes it is reportable. From what I have read anyways.

it doesnt take a genius to tell when you are carrying another dps. as a dps myself, I know the difference of playing with someone who knows their class and someone who doesn't. Not really sure why someone would get mad at someone playing sam, but certain classes you can make the arguement about them playing poorly, such as dragoons or monks that never move from behind a boss. However, the right way to go about it is to explain it to the person is as if they are not aware of their positional requirements (which in 90% of situations is exactly why they are doing really bad damage.)

Honestly, if your hate is on par with DRG (ignoring diversion/elusive) then something IS wrong. That guy was a bit of a jerk, but a DRG should not be keeping up with a SAM period.

Speaking of something being wrong and learning how to deeps, a separate thread from this about learning Samurai actually taught me I was doing my rotations wrong. ...It also taught me that two skills actually have positional requirements which totally escaped me even despite reading the tooltips many times. I guess I am just blind. :P

Also yeah, I run into people who yell at me all the time. Omega was my first raid, so having a combo of 'stack here' and 'stay away' markers confused the heck out of me, but a tank was being rude to me about it.

you are perimitted to use a parser to gage and improve upon your own DPS, you are not allowed to gage or grief other players useing a DPS meter. The offical word on it is DPS counters and ALL 3rd PARTY TOOLS are NOT PERMITTED IN ARR and they have grounds to ban you anytime for it.

To the OP, the correct response to such a comment is "I'm just trying to follow your lead."

Then proceed to /Haurchefant and vote abandon.
