What if Alphinaud &/or Alisaie died?

I'd be rather sad if either of them died.
Am I the only one in this community who adores Alphinaud? I see a lot of hate for him on these forums :(
The death of one would wreck the other.
But I would be far sadder if Alphinaud died. He may be picked on constantly, but he grows, and I grew to like him in heavensward. Alisaie...I don't know, I don't connect with her as much. I don't hate her like Thancred(Spoiler: I hate no one like Thancred.) but the connection isn't the same, cause suddenly here she comes, throwing shade on Alphinaud and thinking she's higher tier on the "npcs Kallera likes" list because of it...
As someone who has little idea why I am doing what I am doing in the story, I doubt I would notice. Likely would skip the relevent cutscene then wonder what happened when one of the two of them is suddenly absent from everything. Then go back to not caring.
FWIW: I STILL have no clue what happened to Minfilia.
It wouldn't matter too much to me, but I'm sure someone who hasn't paid that much attention to the story would probably be going "great, now I can finally tell them apart".
I would be very sad if something were to happen with Alphinaud, I have liked him from the start of the game. And I don't think I would feel very much if something were to happen with Alisaie, only because I have only seen her during meeting them both at the ceremonies (for the Grand Company quest)...not that she talked to my character...ever.. ^_^;;
As much as I myself poke fun at Alphinaud, and enjoyed the parts of the storyline that were a break from him, I don't wish him dead. Nor do I wish Alisaie dead, whom I've grown quite fond of. I would, however, not care even slightly if something happens to Lyse. In fact, I would gladly exchange Lyse to have Minfilia back. That is how little I care for her.
Alphinaud i would not really care that much.
But Alisaie, i feel like it would be to soon cause she have not been with us for that long really.
Would love for Minfilia to come back but i bet 100% she wont be doing that anytime soon, prob next expansion or the one after...
Hell maybe in a expansion where the warrior of light have to go to the warrior of darkness's world or something ( would be ok cool )
Alphinaud? "Finally."
Alisaie? "*shrugs*"
I think at this point in the story (after the conclusion of 4.0) the only member of the scions I remotely care about is Y'shtola because I'm kind of interested in the way the changes to her aether will play out ultimately.
Hey, Minfilia is gone so I'm happy already.
Seriously, how can anyone like her! "Oh warrior of light this, oh warrior of light that!"
At least the others actually try to help. All I ever remember seeing her doing is relay orders and pretend to be a leader.
Since I have formed a sibling like bond with both twins, I would boo-hoo cried if either of them died.
I still don't understand why so many people give poor Alphy such a hard time XDD Leave my little bro alone!
I imagine the effect it would have on Alphinaud would be much greater than it would be for Alisaie. We already had a hint of it, but poor Alphy would be absolutely mentally shattered. And although they've done it twice this expac alone, I could definitely see a primal summoning.
Would be very sad if Alisaie kicked the bucket she is awesome... Alphinaud... would not be so sad if he kicked the bucket, rather annoyed by him.
Alphinau is the tactician of the group.
So long as i get Alisaie's outfit for glamour i don't really mind if she dies or dissapears for a while
I like the twins and would prefer not to see either of them die.
I don't know why everyone hates Alphinaud so much. At least he keeps improving, or tries to, and we're able to see him do it (including his mistakes). I find him more relatable than Alisaie, who basically was an asshole towards us at the start of ARR, then progressed a bit during Coil, and suddendly re-appeared like we know her today after wandering who-knows-where. Meanwhile Alphy has been there with us for a very long time, and we with him, on the good and the bad. Like Ren said, he gives me that little brother feeling, especially after HW (no wonder that Estinien felt that way too).
All in all, I would be sad if either of them died. After all, I know these kids since we travelled together to Ul'dah at the start of ARR. But I would feel the loss of Alphinaud more because of all the time and experiences shared with him.
I'd be pleasantly surprised. Not because I necessarily want either of them to die but it would most definitely raise the stakes and make whatever killed them seem like a legitimate threat.
I prefer Alphinaud over Alisae since we see the former grow and evolve for ourselves. He makes mistakes and overcomes them. Alisae just makes snarky quips and earns cheap points as a result. Most of her development occurred off-screen.
I'd probably be pretty mad. I used to have practically no emotional connection to any character or anything when I first began, but nowadays I'm just like " I'm going to open up all seven hells upon whomever just did that..." XD The whole of Stormblood I was in revenge mode...XD
I'd be mad. I'm like their older sister.
Good Riddance if either of them kick the bucket
Hate aside its hard to take them more seriously because they are kids I mean c'mon you can take Lalafells more serious then these 2 (Badass known as Pippin anyone?). If they were older or we had some kind of timeskip then it wouldnt be as bad, I mean if Alisaie was a Wise cracking Red Mage Female Equivalent of Estinien I would be in awe rather then little miss snarky comments I'd probably take the story with them more serious.
Alphy is still wearing navy and white, Alisaie traded in her Wonder Twin jumpsuit for the ugly beige coat and hotpants. Hope that helps. ^_^
On topic, I would be bummed if either of them died. I like them both and have definitely enjoyed watching them interact with eachother in SB. They give me the 'little sibling for my character' vibe as well. If SE does decide to bump them off, I hope they do a good job of telling the story. As bad as it would be to see them go, it would be worse if they were just thrown away on some pointless quest.
I'm hoping it does eventually happen with Alphinaud. Out of the entire cast, save for Minfilia, he's easily the most irritating character I've met thusfar.
We got a taste of what running around with Alisae is like without Alphinaud anywhere in sight, and I want more of it. If only way back in the 2.0 MSQ during the search for Cid, it was Alisae that walked into that church instead of Alphinaud.
If Alphinaud:

If Alisae, I'd be more disappointed that it wasn't Alphinaud than upset that it was Alisae.
My reaction?
"One down, five to go."
Depends on how they do the scene. I probably would not mind it too much either way.
Y'shtola though? Instant vengeance everything-must-burn not-even-the-primal-want-to-face-that glowing-eyes-of-doom mode.
I like them both (and I am not sure if I want to continue playing the game after already losing so many characters) but I was kinda put off by the characterization of Alisaie over the expansion. Arguing siblings are all fine and was kinda funny at the beginning, but she also talked bad about him, when he was not even there. I am sorry Alisaie but I went through way much more with your brother and he does not annoy me. You also will not make me like you if you try to show that you are better..
So in the end I would be devastated if any of them dies, but Alphinaud would hit me much harder.
Same way as any other person who has died. *Skip story* Mmm, havn't seen X in awhile, ah well.
"Great another anoying pr**k who was bossin me around is gone, thx f-in god"
This goes for all of them except Y'shtola and Estinien i'd be really upset if something would happen to those but in the end it wouldn't matter to much.
I would be really sad if any of them died :(. And then I would proceed to get even sadder for the living sibling because they would most probably be devastated by the other's death.
