MCH Meld, advice?

any advice on what materia i should use?

Crit > direct hit > det. Never skill speed, it's kinda useless since we lost our only DoT.

should i put dex on accecories?

don't worry about melds find another dps class to play

Shhikasan, machinist is fine for main story quest content, (and op in PvP, but nevermind). in MMORPG, there is RPG (Role Playing Game). And if someone want to play machinist for the fun of playing a machinist, let him be.
He may be bad for now (and maybe always will), but there is no problem to play this class on normal content.

If you are trying to help him, then explain him a bit why in a line or two, then he will be able to make a choice from it.

pandaexpress : I believe you can't put more DEX on the good accessories who are already DEX based. Because they are already maxed and you will see that when you will try to set a materia in it, it will say it will gain "+0 Dexterity". If it isn't the case, then go for it, of course. Main stat is always a priority anyway.

Da fuck it is...its so low lame dps and it effekt the MSQ also..they need to fix it asap and there is a rpg element come on really did you just do that.

I have to agree with everyone else, your melds dont matter because you can do the MSQ without them, but you'll need to go bard if you want to play beyond that.

poffo, the difficulty is so low in Main Story Quest that no one cares about real efficiency. The purpose is to live a story, to enjoy it, so you can decide to be RP for this by playing the class you like, whatever its efficiency. And then machinist can still clear the story content. You can even see it as a hard mode of the main story quest.

Do you believe people complain about machinist low dps for this low and easy content?

Let me just step away from the sudden turn in this thread and tell you something relevant.
Usually gear comes capped on the primary stats (DEX/STR/INT/MND/VIT/PIE). Only if it's crafted NQ gear can you meld a primary stat.
You can check this before you meld on the bottom of the window (it'll have for every stat something like "Dexterity 147/147").
So, in all likelihood, your accessories are DEX capped and melding more will do nothing :)

That's exactly what I did... I leveled AST and MCH at the same time, because AST damage was so crap and bored me to death with malefic spam. MCH was fun while doing MSQ and I love playing it in PvP. Just because it's not ideal for extreme primals or whatever atm. doesn't mean people can't enjoy it.

While I do understand the point you're attempting to make, it's fundamentally flawed. And mind you I'm not saying I support anything or stating my beliefs. But to clarify: The argument "it can be in one content over another type so it's fine" is not valid for his complaint. He clearly cares about other content than what you've listed. He wants to play MCH. It is not living up to his standards in that capacity in the content he wants to do it in. I'm happy you were able to make your way through the MSQ with MCH but the MSQ is a situation that is only important once. While the end game lasts for weeks to months.
