How to determinate if i should leave my FC ?

Hello guys,

Recently i just joined a freshly created FC for Stormblood. Since i started playing MMO's ( for more than 10 years now ), i always tried to find a guild where i could meet nice people to play with but most importantly people that want to accomplish the hardest contents.
Now that i am older, i don't really have time to create a guild and to lead it as i used to do it back in the days when i played WOW vanilla 12 h a day. So, the best option is to find a guild and hope it's sticks to my expectations.

So as i said, i just joined a new FC and the fact is that its members seem to be really skilled and have a nice environment for the raid scene and all i have to do is to be online 3 nights a week and that's it. They have twitch, discord, youtube and all those things that i don't really care but at least it shows they are dedicated to what they do.

Nonetheless, the problem i have is that i can't manage to find a way to chat with them since they act like they're leading a factory. For example, i main a Warrior and we actually completed the two new XM primals ( not hard at all, i admit ). All they had to say after the first run is that my DPS was kinda low even if i am a Tank. Maybe it is true, maybe not ( i don't give a f** about using parser honestly ), but the fact is i never failed one single mechanic while they sometimes do and, most importantly, we managed to beat it and to farm it after all. On top of that, the leader uses terms kinda disrespectful ( « you autistics » ) and one of the healers is a complete jerk i try to avoid as much as possible so whenever i see him in discord, i don't want to log in to chat with the others....

I'm here for only one week and my progress has never been so fast in FF XIV, especially because i always tried to progress with the PF which is totally frustrating. I know what i'd be losing if i had to quit but i don't really want to be a lonewolf trying to progress on my own and cancel my sub as i used to do because i would just face a wall being...alone.

Do you guys have any advices ? I suck at social relations :/

One bad apple can ruin a FC, at least for me. I'd leave if there was one moron being a jerk all the time.

If you already feel this way, then this FC isn't right for you. Sometimes it takes a few before you find the group that works for you. Shop around and see what other FC's are like. Most members are often willing to give you the run down.

Also from what you said from your description, I would pass on your FC. Don't stay with them if they already make you want to dodge them in discord. Other FC's will run you through story quickly :D Good Luck!

It sounds as though you know in your heart they aren't a good fit for you (and personally I'd leave). Have you tried reading through the server forums to see whether any of the FCs recruiting members sound less abrasive?

i always end up making my own tiny FC/guild in the end. And I boot people who are disrespectful, because I don't like having the same tag as people with conflicting values.

Sounds like some wannabe hardcore faction, and while the players might be skilled on their own, or maybe just skilled in a specific group assemble, I don't think that anybody should be treated like that. Name calling that is, not the criticism that have been brought up to you about the dps, if you want to be a part of an actual hardcore group, you will have to use parser or have to listen to criticism that your group might have.

I've been there, my advise is this, find an actual hardcore group not some wannabe name calling groups, because you won't be happy after a while, as well as absolute stressed out by that kind of behavior. Or do it like the most of us, join duty and raid finder. You would be amazed by the stuff you get done, even tho most people think it doesn't work, glad lots of people think that, at least those stick with PF and I don't have to deal with them lol.

I've left a FC before and a simple "It's not the right fit for me" was enough to not leave anyone terribly upset. I still have friends from there.

We have people join and then leave our FC somewhat often. It's no big deal. I just assume we weren't the right fit for their play style or personality.

Search around, find your people.

Leave FC def not one that's either inviting or good. I'd leave that in a heartbeat if they were like that. One thing you can do while searching for a replacement is turn off FC chat that way you won't have to hear them "talk".

Ask your self what your goals are;

Are they achievable with your current FC?

Is there an order / or shows proper management to achieve those goals?

Did the FC deliver what they promised when recruiting you?

Are the people helpful?

If not you may need to find a different one and test the water. It's all based on your needs and how they can be achieved as long as there is compromised.

Depending on how they are , time zones ect, and current congestion can be frustrating so you do need to give them some lead way. Otherwise look for a different one or make friends with a TANK.

Sounds like you already know what you want but just need someone elses opinion to convince yourself. So yes, leave.

Play games to have fun, nothing else matters. If the FC is not fun DROP IT. If your teammates make you want to quit DROP EM. A good FC makes the game better, not worse.

Find fun over skill and stress, they don't "play" content, it's work without pay. People who laugh at losing are best.

Much as you wanna succeed, you've got to consider at what cost you're willing to let that happen. I know I wouldn't put up with the nonsense you're describing.

It already sounds like your mind is made up which is too leave. It is great and all that you got progress done, but FCs are more then about progress. You have to like the people and how it is run as well otherwise you will just be miserable, and it sounds like you are a little miserable there especially if you have to avoid one person. I am sure there are some hardcore FCs out there that you will fit in perfectly with.

I also hate the autistic insult people throw around. I know people that have it, so I consider it extremely rude to call people that as an insult. I would have left immediately and fucked their night over if I was called that.

Find yourself a new fc. The one you are in sounds unpleasant. If anyone is so horrid that you actively feel the need to avoid them, that will mess with your enjoyment. Just politely tell them you want a change or something.

I'm sure you can find another hardcore raiding fc or static without having to play with people you dislike. (Cannot say for certain, I'm a very casual player!)

My FC is a mixed bag of both casual and hardcore players, and our end game is to have fun and not take it seriously at all - our mentality towards the game remains similar to one another - it's just a game. Infact, our members are pretty pro/hardcore but at the same time, patient and nice people. We could wipe a bunch of times and not clear it, no one would be upset. We'd laugh and learn from it. That's how they got their A12S clear and helped late bloomers like myself clear it. It also helps when we casually chat on Discord which confuses the hell out of members who usually don't voice chat with us and wonder why we're so quiet in FC chat.

Leave o; dissing ur dps uncalled is kind of rude bcuse you did not ask them how much dps you did i assume? Its against Tos and you can simply report them with no hesitation.

I see you are playing on moogle (unoffical french server).
You can always change server tho unless you already got some friends there outside that fc.
Finding FC is kind of hard in a period. Finding something you think will fit in. I had the same excact problem 2 yrs ago and i just randomly joined a large FC. One of them were shoting in limsa recruiting members and i thought "why not?". After i joined the first thing i notice was the warm welcome greet that made me stay till today.
The point is: find a FC with new people and get to know them. Make friends and have fun. Its never to late to find one.

I left a FC recently which I was part of it for almost a year now and was one of the highest officer. I made some good friends, they still are. I was very helpful toward my FC mates but things turn ugly, I main tank which is the first and only 70 tank in my FC. I help some of them queued for some dungeon run knowing how long DPS queue is. But someone took it for granted and asked me to queued with him. I declined for the first time as I was busy elsewhere. That negative response must have strike him hard as he made some crappy comment about how he will lvl he's tank to 70 now because some of us think they are too important and all. It was so hurtful I left the FC in a whim. Some of my FC mates PM me later telling me how it was crappy of him and understood the situation (they also point out how he's a toxic jerk to others who had also left before I joined) but they can't kick him as he's one of the FC founder. Well now i'm a FC-less adventurer and I don't regret it.

So if you're not happy for whatever reason, just leave.

well, its just a game, so do watever u like. Besides, u r a tank, ez to find a spot in PF.

Leave. Where's the fun in playing with people like that, when there are so many nice FCs out there. :)

Sounds like you know they aren't a good fit. You want to be more than a number and they sound like they want to reduce you to that. There are other FCs out there that you can still progress with that will treat you like a person while doing it. You should shop around until you find the right fit. And don't discount linkshells and making friends. I run my own very small FC but I hit up more hardcore stuff with friends from linkshells and who I have met over my travels.

Just leave and find another one. There are many out there.

I was in my first FC and it was a good one - friendly, house, airship, etc - but the core group were often on at different times of day than I was. The rest of the FC seemed to be happy running around more of less solo. So through no fault of theirs I often felt like an outsider.
I can't imagine being in one where I avoided players in the FC. At that point why bother?

I left to join a very small FC (no house, airship, etc) and don't regret it at all.
