I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but for us casual players we'd love to see some avatar fights that can be solo-able for example the summoner fight from ffxiv. Its just that with my work schedule i cant dedicate to a linkshell and i'm sure there are others out there like me. There should be some reward for people who solo to lvl50.
would be awesome if that reward is a solo Avatar fight. We already can't do regular nm's solo so thats taking nothing away from the hardcore players.

Won't be any primals (hopefully), but I recall yoshida mentioning lesser summons like carbuncle for summoners, so there's a good possibility for lesser summons to have a solo vs party version.

As long as the solo fight does not give anything besides maby some gil and XP I have no issues with it. If it gives good rewards then I easily say no.
As for regular nms, hardcore do not do them either because they are all negated with 1.19+ gear.
Forcing Solo player (what it will be if solo=group) is not what a mmo should be about. No one will group if you can go in and solo it. -

People will still group the hardest enemies from FFXI were not the avatars they were regular hnms and the game is still work in progress. My point is why not reward the player who would pay the same fee but just dont have the time because of RL.

I don't really have time to look for groups and such and usually end up soloing. Even though I play mostly solo, I enjoy being part of a mmo community and crafting, helping others. I think it would be a great idea to add difficult solo challenges for players as well as group content.

Maybe there are people, like the OP, who just want to be able to fight cool battles :) Gear and weapons are a great goal to strive for, but not everyone cares about that. If people want to solo a primal battle, then sure, why not? They just wouldn't receive the same awesome stuff that group players would get.Quote:

The primal battles are already catered for casual play as it is because the retry/re-entry timer is so low. A majority of my LS is players that can only play weekend evenings and we still get a lot of mileage out of the Ifrit fight because the prerequisites are easily soloable and it's easy to schedule the actual fight and deal with people coming and going. There is bound to be groups like my own on other servers that are occasionally 1-2 people short so stick a note that you're up for whatever fight in your search comment and set your flag to Seeking Party.
As far as solo content, I'd prefer for more unique solo content instead of just weaker versions of content geared towards party play. Stuff like Company Leve NMs and things like that.
As far as not being able to commit to a linkshell I suggest to party up and find some good people to hang out with. There's more than enough good people out there that will try to accommodate your schedule if you're polite and such, I know I would. -

While I myself am also a solo player, endgame should remain as a party exclusive thing. If they made the same fights for solo players, it would have to have little to no rewards that match the party reward.

"Other games" also didn't give you comparable rewards for solo -- So nothing wrong with solo end-game content as long as it doesn't overstep or compete with group based content since the whole point of an MMO is playing with other people and if you can get the best rewards while solo or in a party...what's the most likely option people will choose given the whole casual/solo route MMOs have been taking?
Same thing with "solo avatar fights" -- the lesser summons Yoshida mentioned would work fine as solo or party since story related they aren't gods, current Primals are gods and shouldn't be soloable ever, even the low level version of Ifrit is basically soloable if you're 50 but that was story related given what we already know of Ifrit (and already had previous contact with him) but it's why they introduced a real version of him to fight as well. -
