Where is the Fish of the Ruby Sea please ?

Where is all the fish in the Sea ? The Kraken who trying to catch us ? With the new tribe in the sea, maybe all this life pop up ? Or is just some promo benchmark for our eyes ?

Because all the sea, lake etc are very empty. You can't approch the sharkl etc

Please Yoshida we want to have some life when we dive and swim ^^

Yeah, the Ruby Sea is really empty underwater. It's odd.

I was just thinking that while doing miner leves there. I only saw the shark and a few very small fishes. Where is the rest? lol.

Depending on settings you can see more also why have more stuff wondering around when servers are too unstable right now lol.

You can see some fish here and there but it does not look like in the video. My settings didnt seem to have any effect on more or less fish. :confused:

Yeah after the benchmark I was looking forward to the underwater zone. Since you cant fight in it I really hoped that they would have made it visual beautiful and full of life..(since the other zones barely have any life in them other than some monsters) I was hugely disappointed when I saw this death water zone. Its like a painted landscape but without any true life..No true sense of wonder or feeling like this is a sea. I thought this would be like a real life reef with lots of beautiful colorful fishes.

Oh forgot about the crabs, don't think I've seen any.

Maybe SE don't want give players scary fishes as enemies/attack .XD

But, they are peaceful.

If they did not want to scare people they wouldnt have put in those sharks. Also much more fishes with different colors and maybe some small crabs (like the minion) would have already helped. At least other than gathering I see no reason to explore these underwater zones.

On a serious note it is sad the sea looks rather deserted though the sea bed itself is very beautifully done, maybe they removed the huge amounts of sea life to let those with weaker PC's and what not explore the game with no issues? I dunno but still disappointing.

Yeah, the underwater areas do feel a bit lonely :(
The level of detail shown in the benchmark would be nice to counter that, but we have to remember that the point of the benchmark was to tax our hardware by cramming scenes full of objects.

I am not sure if this is technical possible but if they did not do it because of this reason, then maybe they could have done it that way, that depending on the power of the hardware it could change. So if someone has a bad pc they will see less fishes. But in the end they did increase the minimum amount needed to play this game so I kinda hoped that this means that we will get better zones with more life in it. Because other than some NPCs and some monsters there is no real life in those zones. And the underwater zone without its combat could have been a good chance to change it.

I saw a shark. Approached it. Swam THROUGH it. Kinda wish SE'd given the thing at least enough AI to swim away rather than let me clip through it. :<

As for other fish, while I can't remember whether I've seen schools of fish, I've certainly seen SHADOWS of schools of fish while in the underwater towns.

Probably the same reason we dont see a huge Adamantoise the size of Dalamud wandering around in the black shroud like we did in the ARR benchmark. The SB benchmark was intended to stress test the system, so of course they added many extra textures, models, etc for that purpose.
To be honest though, I really would love to see the diving areas teeming with fish! MAZLAYA MARLINS YES PLEASE! Here's hoping they'll add more in later.

I do hope they add more fish to the ocean, I wanna see things swimming/crawling around. They wouldn't even have to tax the servers to do it, make it all client-side. If they're worried about people having the same experience(i.e. seeing the same fish at the same time), they could do something like use a weak rng that uses something already broadcast to all players such as the server time as the seed, and generate non-interactable wildlife from there.

PS4 limitations.

I thought it had something to do with the fact that they purposefully loaded the benchmark so that it would put stress on your machines, like how there were tons of extra NPCs wandering around in Kugane. It made sense that there would be extra fish in the sea.

I'm more curious about if/when/where we get a manta mount.
