NPC Kiuka is a Joke
By now we should be allow at least more than one 4* cards or if that is not gonna happen you must sort this NPC because having two 4* AND 5* and ON TOP OF THAT CHAOS.
It is doable and I have won several times but this NPC is broken. Btw card still no drop.
Worst case scenario increase drop rate from this.

The reason the basic tt rules don't seem to apply to npc is the reason I stopped playing that minigame. It's just plain unfair that npc can use all the cards they want and we're restricted in our choices. I'm not interested in a game that gives npc an unfair advantage. Have npc follow their own game's rules!
-
I found triad card rates have been generous for 4.0. Every npc I've played in 4.0 has a weak side that might not be clear at first. Even in chaos it can be exploited

Coming here to complain about Kiuka as well. I've beaten every 4.0 Trial NPC and Kiuka is just absurd and not fun.
-
I wouldn't have a problem with the limitations and rules if the drop rates weren't so trash for like half the cards in the game. Japanese game devs sigh...
-
Nothing will ever even come close to Lewena pre nerf... this one is just a mild annoyance in comparison :D
-
I agree that Kiuka is not fun to play against at all, especially with a stacked deck, Chaos, and no rules to give you an advantage.
I did get a >50% win rate out of Warrior of Light, Estinien, Ysayle, Hilda, Kal Myhk, but it took a lot of work getting there and sometimes you just have no chance at all.
-
Oh MONTH after, yesterday in the morning i got the card. I spent 1 hour to 3 every day to challenge this npc. The drop rate should be tweaked a bit.
-
As far as I'm concerned, the drop rate is not the issue, but the fact that he uses Chaos while his deck consists of two 5* and two 4* cards, among others. It's a big problem. Therefore, I agree with OP. I don't mind low drop rates when there isn't some real annoying rule like Chaos. Idle Imperial in Mor Dhona for example. Low drop rate on Gaius, but there isn't some incredibly irritating rule that screws you over half the time. I enjoy battling this NPC for the three hundredth time.
Personally, I got the Hien card from Kiuka after 35 wins, 26 draws and 12 losses, with a deck consisting of Ysayle, Estinien, Roundrox, Lucia and Cloud Strife. I was using Warrior of Light at first, but switched to Cloud after a few games. His double 9 gave me many wins, allowing me to take back my own cards that were taken.
While the Chaos rule is irritating though, at least it's not nearly as annoying as the old Random rule that various NPCs had.
-
I'm fine with low drop rates.
Though a low drop rate on top of a low win rate due to RNG just isn't enjoyable. It's not a case of it being a challenge, either - chaos and random are rules that can easily screw over a player to the point where it is impossible for them to win.
At this point we need to be able to use as many four star cards as we like - especially since they're barely in use.
-
Four star cards are garbage if you have literally any five star card. That's a massive problem. I get that us just going balls-out with multiple five star decks would be an issue in PvP modes, but on the other hand, at least make four star cards worthwhile?
-
Got the Hien card yesterday after about 70+(Maybe more, I lost count) matches and a 80% win ratio. Last NPC I needed for Stormblood. Now to hope Shinryu drops
-
Resurrected this thread just to say this guy ruined my week. 5 days 180 wins and still no card. guessing about 40% win rate maybe closer to 35%. Quitting triple triad for a while.
-
I agree with Kiuka is not fun.
and I agree with every npc can be exploited.
The problem is combined super low drop rate with not-so-fun experience while farming certain cards.
Even farming those mounts you get a token which can be traded in the mount by 99.
Triple Triad NPCs should have some mechanism said "You mastered this NPC" and drop the damn card right away.

As someone with every card in the game, I've spent a truly ridiculous amount of time playing NPCs, and most of it was before they adjusted them to be always available, when they still had time windows. Several NPCs I've had to beat well over 100 or 200 times to get the cards I wanted. The drop rates can be frustrating, but you just have to take it easy. Take a break and come back later if you're getting bored or annoyed, the NPC isn't going anywhere. You've got all the time in the world to get the drops and ultimately all you're getting is another little card icon in your collection, so just go easy and try to have fun playing the game. TT is one of those things you can do in your own time and while waiting for queues and stuff, so there's no need to play any more than you want to.
