I actually went 20 STR, 15 VIT, and 10 INT. DEX is no longer a focus for PGL (according to patch notes on Auto Attack damage). Was a bit disappointed with VIT HP value, it was really marginal for the 15 points, so unless you dump them all in one stat you're not going to see too much of a difference I don't think.
reading notes again incase they choose to never let us change them :)
I did full STR then full INT, gonna see how it work.
probably for the new pug the stats that matter are
str and int for dmg
vit for defense maybe
piety for mp maybe
the maybes are basically based on how much those points will actually boost those.
Is dexterity assosiated with accuracy?
If yes then we might have to put some points there cause my WS can miss now.
I think we could cover accuracy easier with materia/accessories then using points. Like I said, at least with Vit the difference it made in HP was extremely marginal (less than 100 hp easily), so you're really going to need to pump in a lot of points to see a big difference.
The part I'm curious about though is that Dexterity no longer affects Evasion, at least according to the patch notes. So that would make our main focus Strength and Intelligence, maybe with some Vitality for survivability. I'm not sure how much Piety would really help the MP end of things though. I mean from what I saw the Fists of Fire/Earth take almost 30mp every 3 seconds.
I decided to put 9 points to Vit, and the rest between INT and STR, I will meld Acc on my gear later.
PUG best stats are INT,STR, Magic Att P. Piety. Fire Materia IV Fire Magic Potency : 22-30 .Earth Magic Potency : 22-30
Attack Magic Potency : 11-15. Magic Crit Potency : 42-50, Str : 7-10, Vit : 7-10, Int : 7-10, Pty : 7-10. DPS went up
Piety ?! It doesn't boost PUG damage.
You said, pty: dps went up.
I don't think using Piety over INT or STR or DEX will be a better choice, if you plan on tanking with your magic evasion in that case, maybe.
Add effect have an inherent high accuracy, if it's only a matter of landing them, maybe it would be better to use M.acc over Pie ?
Wondering if the patch notes were slightly misleading.
Many PGL arms have parry. DEX affects parry and is also highest PGL base stat.
I wonder if parry/evasion have become blended, and DEX affects Haymaker proc.
Hmmm...
Straight STR and INT if you know how to manage your resources and keep fists of fire up. I play a DD role, and manage to offtank moogle bosses, and stronghold bosses in the game no problem with support from our mages. If you want to bring the highest possible DPS of all the classes right now gear/materia/stat correctly as PGL and rock those charts. we are by far the highest top end and burst DPS in the game right now and I love it.
What gear are you guys using for your PGLs?
What I am wearing for my PGL:
Cobalt Claws
Silver Tricorne
Rainmaker's Tunic
Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves of Slaying
Peisteskin Hunting Belt
Raptorskin Subligar
Bladedancer's Jackboots
Garnet Ring x 3
I still need to materia my claws and chest. Can't seem to find a BSM for claws, and the materia I want for the chest costs millions of gil lol, hoping I can get an upper tier savage might materia breaking down bonded gear.
Longterm I plan on:
Ifrit's/Mogfists/Cobalt Claws w/STR (Ifrit's preferred, Mogfists solo)
Paragon's Crown or Felt Cavalier's Hat w/INT (over +40 desirable). Debatable.
Rainmaker's Tunic w/Savage Might or Bloodthirst
Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves of Slaying w/STR
Raptorskin Satchel Belt w/Touch of Serenity (a carryover from my mage jobs) or Penance
Felt Trousers w/Ironman's Will or Swordsman's Cry
Cobalt-plated Caligae w/Bloodthirst
3x Dated Garnet/Goshenite Ring (Garnet preferred)
So overall, which is better for damage? Adding Materia for STR to the Gloves, or Attack Power?
If you have Ifrit claws get one of each.
Not sure on this either. I just happened to get lucky with a heaven's fist IV blowing up my dated harrier's jacket so figured the fingerless raptorskin gloves I had would be a good fit for it. For any gear/materia where I have a choice for STR vs. INT I usually go with STR.
