I Survived Stormblood Early Access Minion

To lighten the mood a little I wanted to throw this out there as a suggestion. I know people are complaining about wanting pro-rated game time discounts/refunds or whatever, personally I think that's a little steep but what about a special pet?

At the Fanfests there are usually contests to net you an "I survived..." shirt. Would it be possible to maybe throw an "I survived early access" minion our way?

I'm terrible with creative ideas for this kind of thing so give me your suggestions! It would need to be something special to Stormblood. My first thought was a Wind-up Lyse minion but I know there are probably plans in the works for her at later date. I'm thinking maybe a creature that we only see in the SB areas.

Maybe even do a community poll for what players would like to see?

My Ideas:
Baby Antlion (because FFXI feels)
Baby Goosefish
Baby Sarcosuchus
Wind-up Marid

I'm still waiting on the one for heavensward, when everyone was complaining about those issues lol

I mean, techincally we did get a pre-order-bonus minion: The red-mage. While I'm not totally oppossed to the general idea I think it should rather be something thats tied to having an active subscription during the last week - please remember that not only SB-people suffered here! And with that the whole pre-order-problem would be gone aswell...

(Unlikely to happen either way though, I'm afraid >.< so maybe you can take comfort in having your red-mage-pet?)

While the idea of a minion is great, I honestly think it wouldn't make up for all the loss time in being able to level up. Why not something that people can use to boost experience gained from quests/missions?

I get what you're saying Vidu, but we paid for the RDM minion. I'm just thinking throwing a "sorry it was rougher than expected" small item or way would be nice. As far as being available to everyone, you're right. I didn't take into account the fact that non-preorder people went through the nightmare too. I'll change the wording in the OP to include all.

My goodness, people actually want compensation for an early access they opted into.

I think that's asking too much. Yes, there was massive inconvenience, but a special little pet would be them acknowledging our frustration and apologizing with a little "giving back to the community" vibe to it. XP jumps and stuff are overboard imo.

What I was proposing is no different than the 5 scrolls you can get from your Barracks runs you have your NPCs do, it'd just be something like EXP boost that you would use like 5% or 10%. I've been on other MMORPGs which have done this to appease to the fact there was mistakes on their side.

I could add it to all my other minions I don't use.

I dont think SE is looking to commemorate this launch with a minion, that years later when someone wonders where said minion comes from and looks it up, it says, "reward for players who endured a terrible launch 2017".

Ntm theyd be setting a precedent to reward us an extra item after every expansion launch, because this isnt going to change next expansion or the next. Nice idea though, I too like free stuff.

Maybe with an accompanying t-shirt .....

Wind-up Raubahn that says "A system error occurred during event movement".

It needs to be a wind up minion that crashes every 10 minutes and stops moving :'D

There is a Raubahn-minion - sort of... we got the "leader of the GC"-minion who will change into Raubahn if you're part of the immortal flames (Merlwyb for bloody pirates and Kan-E for those tree-huggers)

Maybe a 1-armed Raubahn? I love the ideas!

In Crimson was far more heartbreaking honestly. To finally get passed Raubahn only to get kneecapped ten minutes later by Pipin.

Not for most of us who never got past raubahn until the issue had gone away and pipin wasn't blocking people either.

I'm honestly thankful you never got stuck on In Crimson because by then the issue was fixed for you. I'm sorry that you had to spend two and a half days waiting for that smoothness (it should have been there from the start) but I'm not sorry that you managed to dodge the feeling of thinking you were finally able to experience the Xpac only to discover no, you weren't, and have to do it all again.

It was akin to getting into the duty and DCing so that you had to hope you got in again.
