Can we get them to work on whm? Scholar could use a bit of beautifying too. =/
The AF3 weapon is stunning
It is. I've only seen it in the promotion videos, but I agree. However
- The weapon will eventually be changed out as new patches come, but spells remain and we use them an uncountable number of times. Prettier and more elegant spells like AST gets are welcome - Stone IV is almost a re-skin of Stone II, but now with cubes.
- Maybe off-topic, but to me it would make more sense to build on Stone III and e.g. use something that smashes downwards like one of the Blizzard spells (can't remember which one, either III or IV). The reason I say downwards is because of the way the PC move their arm and upper body downward when using Stone IV. To me, there's a disconnection between the action of the PC and the spell; I know this isn't earthbending from Avatar:The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra but there should be some connection I think.
WHM is now the stoner class, confirmed.
The beautiful effects are why I main astro.
Earthly star is beautiful, and people make an effort to stand in it because it looks nice.
Malefic III is like a stellar version of the stone 3 visual, which i enjoy.
AST has the Galaxy.
SCH shooters missiles, pew pew.
WHM hits enemies with a coffin.
I actually really like StoneIV, much more than III, The blurry screen and shacky aspect upsetted me.
Nonetheless, WHM do need some love for their visual, too similar overall. It's hard to distinguish anything unless you know the job well.
I know many people are also upset about the WHM becoming morea Holy Mage than the... "nature healer" he's suppose to be.
As far as I can tell, people have requested more water spell, we've yet to see them.
<3 AST is amazing. The moves the effects the design. The only thing I wish is they made more of their card move names more mystical and tarot like. I don't like the name "Sleeve Draw" and I heard a bunch of people throwing around the "Grand Cross" or whatever, the tarot spread and that would've been a beautiful name.
Yeah, a lot of the ability names in relation to cards don't make sense. Undraw should be Discard, Redraw should have remained as Shuffle. Sleeve Draw just sounds weird, makes it seem more gambling-y and Grand Cross would have been neat. After all, Minor Arcana is from tarot cards. They're unlikely to change ability names, though.
I don't think there's an implicit problem with any of them except Spread. Undraw and redraw are perfectly fine (undraw isn't the standard word we use in English but it's meaning is perfectly clear), redraw is more appropriate than shuffle really. Spread has no real contextual relevance to what it does; I'd prefer spread be called "hold" or something like that. Sleeve draw definitely sounds more gambling related than I'm sure they were going for, but it still has an appropriate meaning for what it does.
In tarot reading, a layout of cards is called a "Spread," which is where the name comes from.
Undraw was just them making the macro most people used into an actual ability. I didn't expect much from the name.
Redraw used to be called Shuffle, and when they changed it so that you would no longer draw the same card again, they changed the name. I have no earthly idea why they thought the name change was necessary.
And Sleeve Draw is because i assume they're fusing Gambler into AST as well, just as with GEO.
