So, while I love EXP through PVP, it's opened the door to a new problem.

People intentionally throwing games because it gets them faster EXP.

There has to be something that can be done about these "people", because I don't want this system to go away. The new PVP is great, and being able to level DPS classes and other classes that are...shall we say, less than fun to play in dungeons is great, not to mention not having to decide between leveling and playing PVP.

i am one to say its not new, before it was for tomes, now its for exp.
i don't want this system to get away too, it don't make sense to punish everyone just because a minority of players is abusing of the system.
The system is not in fault, its just a minority of players used to abusing for exp, tomes, wintrading ect...

The only way to stop such people is to make PVP a zero reward mode. I mean nothing, not even PVP Exp. It's farmed by the worst type of 'people' for Exp, PVP Exp, Wolf Marks, Gil, Seals, Tomestones, Mounts (via achievements), Glamour... basically everything. There's a type of 'person' who will cheat at everything in their lives if they benefit & get away with it. You know the type, they ask to look over your homework for 'ideas' but copy it wholesale & steal toilet rolls from Charity centres despite having loads at home. ¬_¬

All they need to do is reduce amout of EXP 2nd place gets in feast and same thing for 2nd and 3rd place in FL's, im actually suprised they didnt do this right from the start because "throwing matches for faster exp" is what came first to my mind when i saw patch notes. Also this same thing should be applied to tomestones so there would be a reason to go for the win.

The problem with reporting everyone is that you are then stuck in a 10 minute conversation with a GM and while the GM I spoke too was nice, it's not how I want to spend all my time after every PVP match. They basically gave a nearly instaqueue that you can mostly AFK in and watch Netflix and get a ton of exp for doing nothing. Worse, it's making everyone turn on each other and the AFKers join in groups and taunt everyone. I like the PVP in this game, part of the reason I resubbed, so it's kind of sad to me, but I'm not sure what to do about it really.

2nd place should give zero xp, poetics, wolf marks, so AFKers and bots would benefit nothing by AFKing. For them there's no reason to try if result is the same anyway, so why bother?

That won't work, it's Team vs Team so as long as the rest of the members play well its possible, & common, to have AFK scum in the winning team.

I agree. It give players a lot more incentive to win rather than just joining for "free EXP."

PvP is really fun, but it's annoying when people purposely throw. They just want the XP and have no incentive to play since their reward is the same. At 62 I was getting 614k a match. Why not half that to 307k for second and 153k for third.

I had a friggin healer pull this earlier. Didn't cast a thing, just wandered around watching everyone die.

I seriously think PvE rewards from PvP should be based on personal contribution: Damage dealt, damage mitigated, HP healed (not counting overheal), etc.

I doubt reporting people for throwing or system abuse works anymore in PVP. There have been people that were constantly reported by many many people in Previous Seasons of the Feast and they were not banned at all.

Yesterday I used frontlines to lvl up my NIN to continue the MSQ since I may never get in any other roulette by myself anyway...
The exp is nice and all but the amount is a bit... overkill?

There were some fights in which I got in a group in which 5 people did nothing aside from chatting on Alliance channel around the topic of "easy & quick exp" through frontline match...

I get the Easy part... but its not quicker if you stay still at the base :/
I mean, if you wanna be useless and make things any quicker please go ahead to the center and feed the other team... at least that way they get their quick exp, the other team enjoys killing them, and I enjoy them being dead :/

These changes being request here won't happen. Why, because this is what you people wanted. You wanted to entice more players to join PvP. So there, now you have it, more people that would other wise not do PvP are now doing it. If experience points are that good as people are claiming, then it's doing it's job of getting playing to participate. If I were playing, I be like finding the throwers and ganking them for my personal achievement points.

People wanted more players to PvP not AfK ^-^

So no.

It's not gonna be like this all the time. Just way for people to level the new classes. It's temporary.

I rarely even like to pvp in MMO's much anymore. But I recently started again just before SB and now a lot in SB, simply because waiting 30m (minimum) for a basic HW dungeon and grinding fates (which got old last expansion) just aren't viable options in comparison. I don't condone the afk'ing but it'll continue to happen until SE gives a new way to level alts (which won't happen). I'd do PoTD if I could find a group, but I enjoy the pvp in this game, despite the fact that I'm about as useful as an AFK'er in most matches :(

As long as EXP is given, people WILL still do it. No chance they won't. Any reward that can be given to you without directly participating yourself will attract the AFKers/Botters. They do it with Tomes, Wolf Marks, Garo wins, and now EXP.

Please no, don't remove xp in pvp! I love pvp and I love level class doing it! I can understand some ppl can go afk, but in my opinion are a little percentage, maybe 5%, for 1 afk there are many ppl who enjoy how pvp work right now. Please do not change it, it's perfect the way it is.

yes, don't change reward, it won't solve anything, exept kill the queue, if you can end to have nothing because you loose. Why change anything for 5/100 population, punish everyone for this small amount of players.
the only solution for me is to get the game detect this and kick abusing players.
btw you can do this in pve, just queue normal primal roulette do nothing, get bonus players, get afk, and the players will only votekick if you wipe happen, it would be easy to bot this too.
Its why its better to fight the problem at the root, not the reward, but afkers and boter. Pls

nerfing the reward isnt the solution a better way to report afkers and bots is ...

It's one thing to have people intentionally afking/feeding another team, it's another to be encouraging other people to do so as well.
Honestly frustrating as someone who has been pvping since seal rock was released and am still trying to enjoy pvp with the new changes to be seeing things like this frequently...

My best solution thus far is to:

1. Give a fair reminder that it is a reportable offense to afk or intentionally throw matches just for free XP.
2. If they show blatant disregard for #1, kick as soon as possible.
3. Where that may fail, or where you encounter a known afker/thrower, drag matches out, kick them just before it's over, if they try to just repeatedly rush in and you're a healer, "Rescue" them. If you're not on their team and see them constantly rushing in to get killed, mark them and ignore. Do everything you can to disrupt, drag out, and thwart their attempts to get free XP. When it starts to seem not worth their time, they'll go away.
