I've been stuck at cold steel for almost 2 days now some communication from the devs would be nice because right now it sounds like you guys are doing nothing
I have my suspicions its hardware/software related on their end, they are lilky looking for a workable fix so they don't /faceplant on Tuesday, short period radio silence is expected until they have a solution, once something is posted, it can't be taken back so they are being tactful.
even a message just adressing cold steel or the people who cant log in from susano would be nice just as a gesture to the player base communication is needed when theyre game is broken
Worry not, because after that, there's the "In Crimson it Began'' which I'm stuck past 8 hours, and be prepared because you will too. This was a big disgusting early access, they should refund us for the days we lost due to their incompetence to solve problems.
No additional compensation will be considered IF its in a well enough state for the 2oth, as much as people want to fight the fact of the matter: Early Access, Head Start, Pre-Release, Open Beta -- these terms are mutually exclusive to each other (they mean the same thing) They are all live test periods, its the stance that has been taken by nearly every publisher since 2007. The pre-order bonuses are the compensation given to players for the potential inconvenience, they 'grey area' here is that the issues are greatly affecting those who have not pre-ordered too, my suspect points to the NADC upgrade having faulty hardware or software.
early access is not a beta early accesses are ment to stagger launch so server issues like this dont happen the fact is i preordered and payed for a game that doesnt work and they are wasting my time not telling me whats going on and not fixing it
Yeah well, we're paying for days that are unplayable, and umm, this issue is borking up ARR and HW too. It's not like I'm getting free days because of some early access. If SB wasn't here, I'd still be paying to play today.
I am not a dev, and I know this has already been said, but many people miss it. Please, believe me, did you see Yoshis picture where he said you all need to calm down? Its right there! There is your respons from the devs! Remember diadem 2 and how ppl complained? Remember whm sb-change, and how ppl complained? see this early access and how ppl complain? You miss understand your position and what this is, its not even this particular issue, you need to see the zoomed out picture, ppl react to the moon and back constantly, just remember diadem 2. you need a new attitude, how about you give it a few more days? a few more days??? and all these problems literally gets cleared within a few days..... by themselves... server congestation... you need to rethink your position as the center of the universe
I am a customer, I paid for this, I have all the rights to complain about, and it will be not only here. My experience shall be shared along my friends too, and that's the lovely part of this story.
Except that's rubbish isn't it. Those terms don't all mean the same thing and aren't all test periods.
An open beta is a testing period post alpha testing, you may or may not get to carry over your progress into the finished product.
A Head Start, Pre-release and Early Access refer to access to a finished product prior to release.
You can't trick people into testing your product by not referring to it as a test, likewise you can't call something early-access that's actually a test, the expectations for these kinds of access are wildly different. Not to mention Square-Enix has ran FFXIV beta tests in the past and always referred to them as such.
And while we're on the subject, early access is a total scam anyway, we give them money not knowing if the product is any good, and when it turns out to be garbage we can't even review it as officially speaking it isn't released yet. No need to worry about their metacritic being bombed if shit hits the fan prior to the game's "release".

5. INTERRUPTION TO THE SERVICE
From time to time, in order to provide our customers with the optimal gaming experience, it is necessary for Square Enix to conduct routine maintenance on the computers and/or servers that support the Game. During these times, access to the Game or support services may be interrupted. Access may also be temporarily suspended in whole or in part, without notice, due to emergency repairs, fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmental action or failure to act, the act of any civil or military authority, act of God, or by any other causes beyond Square Enix's control, or any other reasons for which Square Enix, in its sole discretion, deems that temporary suspension is necessary. You acknowledge that disruptions of service may occur and waive any causes of action against Square Enix in any way arising from or related to any such disruptions of service.

Yes you do have the right to complain, I have just as much right to voice mine, even if they conflict as an American Citizen, that said complaints get across better if they are presented calmly, accurately and without threats, insults and ultimatums.
There is a basic 4-step system used by the majority of software developers and their stages:
Alpha - Small test pool to try out developmental ideas (NDA)
Beta - Slightly larger test pool whereas testing runs parallel to QA testing (NDA)
Open Beta - Largest test pool, allowing any interested to take part, allows for stress testing and optimization.
Official Launch - Finished product, release to general public.
Starting in 2007 companies started using terms such as 'Early Access' to gain additional funding for their projects usually with a pre-purchase with promise of access to the finished product at no additional cost or reduced cost. More established companies used similar terms in place of 'Open Beta' like Head Start, Pre-Release to boost pre-order numbers as an incentive to 'be first' since by this time most games had achievement systems implemented and getting something to boost their e-peen had much appeal. Over time it became common practice to substitute their Open Beta phase with these frilly notions of being first, so many poor souls desire recognition of their existence through a game. Anyways, on the alternate side some games get stuck in a 'perpetual alpha' set because they open up that Early Access to stockpile funds and skip out on completion, reading in between the lines is a skill only granted by experience.
Yup, understood that is the 'grey' area I mentioned, as i read more posts and try to help more people combining my information with theirs my suspicion of it related to the NADC upgrade and now the higher volume of players has caused an issue to pop up what wasnt detected earlier...Since that is the most probable cause, given SqEx history, as they gave around a month of time compensation in totally during the ARR launch fiasco, they will likely give us something, all of us be it time or something else. Their main concern now is locating, containing and selecting the most efficient fix that will impact players the least that isn't just a stop-gap measure like adding a queue system that will be obsolete in a month and still have the main issue to fix. -- Obviously they will be investigating this..depending if they find that this issue was preventable or not on their end will be a huge deciding factor on what the likely compensation will be, if nothing else Yoshi P and the Japanese people have a strong sense of honor, things will be made right, I think they deserve our good faith for at least that much.
It seems as if complaints don't matter irregardless of the grey area. Usually they acknowledge more often than this and by now we would have an emergency maintenance going on over night or some plan disclosed to address the issue. Their silence is noticed and it will hurt them.
We know what's going on. Stormblood instance servers are completely offline and have been for about 40 hours. I wouldn't expect a fix any time soon. I think it will take, at minimum, weeks before anyone will be able to play.
