Lalafell is the only race we need.

I would definitely love to play as a more animal-like race, especially a wolf. Not just a human with cat ears and a tail.

That's not a Viera.

We already have a massive thread about this, so what made you think we needed another?

And no. The whole story is about humanoid races vs beastmen. The warrior of light belongs to the former. The wolfheads to the latter. There won't ever be beastmen warriors of light and they're not going to change the whole story to add a race that wouldn't be popular anyway.

The problem with that style of race is customizability. No hair or beards to make them unique and vary. You all would look the same and not in the Highlander kind of way of same face, but same head. Different coats still wouldn't do the trick either. It would have to be a humanoid head with wolf like face that would allow a beard and hairstyle.

YES, make it possible somehow SE, and add Viera too! The more racial variety the better.

Where is the racial variety in Viera? They're just hyur with bunny ears and a small cotton ball tail.

Seeing as they were proposed as a player race before the potential is there and since they are in the game its possible to happen. Im all for it anyway!

Who said Gender was the issue with Veira? SE had both male and female concept art for them but back to the fact they are literally just Hyur with bunny ears and a small fluffy tail.

No they are not. It's not just the appearance that makes the race, it's the lore. You can't just generalize one thing by looking at it. I could say all Hyur are just basic people with no creativity, in what's supposed to be a Fantasy game, but I won't. That would be mean, and generalized. Hyur have a place in the story too.

some concept art suggests it's going to be closer to animal than miqo'te.

Racial Variety = Variety in difference of appearances of races.
Lore Variety = Variety in lore in terms of the inhabitants, scenery, history, and other given things that helped shape a world.

Let's not bring in the bestiality fetish into the game. Wait. . .

Yes we need those, I dont like them but all I see are cats everywhere, we need at least 4 more races.

The more we can get the better. The diversity just makes the world feel more alive imo.

That's like saying Lalas are short Hyurs, Au Ra are Hyur with horns and tails, Elezens are tall Hyurs with pointy ears etc.
It's a new race so it's racial variety, and one which adds more than an Elezen or a Roegadyn.

Same. The only "difficult" part for them would be designing the helms for the race, the rest of the armor would fit perfectly.

I do not like their heads. Oo

Either way I wouldn't play them anyway. Sooo if they happen or not is not an issue for me.

A simple solution would be like how Bethesda solved the Argonian/Khajiit boots due to the animal legs back in Morrowind, they can't use boots.
But instead of not letting them use helmets just make it perma-toggled off.
Lazy solution, but the most likely one if *IF* if ever this would be a playable race down the road.

Or just make it a mogstation race.
Those who are willing to play a race that can't have visible headgear and no (or few since I can't think of much else than fur & eye colours) character costumization can do so.
Buy it once to unlock it and use Fantasia like for any other race.
It would be like buying a game in Alpha stage. Alot of people do it and play it like a full game.

their snout looks too small and stubby for one...and their fingers too long and thin. just something that strikes me as a bit odd for a wolf beastman.

that said im all for more beastlike races, especially since we never got galka in this game, just gray skinned giant humes.

Please no. If this gets added before Viera I would be quite cross.

You really want Mi'qote with dumb bunny ears? You've got to be kidding me. Races like Mi'qote, Lalafells, and Roegadyn are so uninspired compared to FFXI's Mithra, Tarutaru, and Galka, and adding something like Viera would just be contributing to the uninspired cesspool that is most of the current FFXIV races. It'd be really nice to see a race that's actually diverse from what we have already instead of just slapping bunny ears on skinny humans with slightly different faces.

You aren't getting anything that's not in some way a humanoid character. They aren't going to make new helmet designs or boot designs or gloves to fit around the model of a unique race.
