i think i might do
Str - 23
Dex - 22
Strength all the way.
i posted this in the gl thread too bu ill post it here as well, if you split it up you prob wont see a noticeable difference. I think ill put it all in one stat to see the biggest increase in a focused area.
45 point with a max of 23 at 50 on one stat. May wait for some testing but basically will go on +23 STR and +22 PIE and used all those accuracy materia or accuracy gear that was not really interesting before in a 8/8 PT to compense for the low acc WS we got
well what sucks ? isn't it the max we can put in the same stat ?
Don't forget spikey that pie is also now a dmg modifier for lancer auto attack
Well i basically just read the patch note and try to figure out what i'm going to do for my lnc and giving my thinking to the OP about this.
And re-reading it closer, there is a maximum that is 23 for a level 50, it is written like, let me see, in a spreedsheet like just at the start of the point allowment description. may not be the best choice but hee trying to figure out without the patch beeing released lol
Does anyone know if there will be a softcap on damage? If there is it may not be worth pushing str above a certain number. If that is the case, I plan on waiting to see how poor the accuracy really is in our skills before stacking pie or acc.
I have a feeling Piety is going to be the difference between good and Great so I'm going to look and see if there is gear for it. If not then I will be focusing my points there.
I did 23 Piety and 22 Strength and I have yet to see a miss. Might just be coincidence so far though. kweh.
Still parsing 99-100% accuracy with combos/low-acc WSs in an 8-man party against moogles.
I missed a little bit doing the r40 company leves in Treespeak (+4, so level 49), and whenever I tried Chaos, sometimes only 2 or 3 of the hits would land. But it was nothing disgustingly bad.
Also, someone let you do Moogle as lancer? :o I figured we'd fade back into the Archer's shadow, at least on that fight.
piety is primary damage attribute for lancer, not (only) str. just read patch notes.
A LS buddy of mine did a little bit of testing, it may not be solid info on the matter but STR even outdamages DEX and PIE in WS and AA for ARC, again that testing was done with ARC! The ARC therefore seems to have three stats pushing his damage, while we remain with two - I think that is quite nice. Seems safe to say that STR > PIE on the LNC too (as STR > DEX/PIE on ARC).
But again, i was not the one parsing, my LS buddy was. He was parsing the moogle fight, maybe not the top environment to do those tests, but well i thought you might find that interesting.
Now i'm quite curious about the question where the soft and hardcap for STR lies.
I would just like to go on the record that increase my STR beyond the 250 mark has resulted in almost neglegable gains. I think we might have to start looking at the possibilty of there being a fairly stiff soft cap on these stats now.
Against Ifrit increaing my STR from 250 to 291,
I gained no increase in AA dmg
Doomspike Crit went up 20 points
Nothing else went up noticeably.
i think we need to consider the fact that Piety may play a stronger role than we think and start experimenting with other stats as well.
Piety and Strength aren't just auto-attack modifiers, they affect the Lancer ARMS as well.
i'm wondering how much damage we do to ifrit now, I can do up to 600 but most are 500-560
My str is 347, pie 235
Bad idea bro, at level 43 I had 10 points in dex and i was still missing most of my hits with the full cobalt gear so i was right on level with gear, if you go full strength and ignore the dex nothing will hit, you hit fairly often so missing a regular auto-attack isn't a big deal but when you can't complete a single combo because your second skill ALWAYS misses, its not fun, not fun at all.
Why are you wearing level 48 Cobalt gear at 43? I really hope you meant Mythril. Otherwise, DEX would only serve a purpose if you solo heavily. If you're like myself and only group for exp, then you simply don't need it as full party buff is all you really need to make accuracy a non-issue.
