Gathering Classes once again getting "the shaft"

Okay, heres the deal, I'm really upset with the ongoing lack of common sense when it comes to gathering classes. I feel like once again, we've been left out and getting penalized for what we do best....This latest change to only get one item of Electrum and Cobalt was the last straw, not to mention all the other items that you can only get one of per try.....and once again SE, what are you thinking???

I've busted my ass getting my botany and mining to 50. I've spent the time to get the best gear, make my own tools, attach materia to boost my stats, mainly mnd and int per your information to allow me to gather more items per try.....so whats the point?? I feel I've just wasted my time...Oh, and the Kings Yield ability, once again pointless.

Gathering items, the amount, quality, what you can gather, etc...should be based on your level and stat related. Pretty much a no brainer don't you think?? I don't get upset about the game too often but this is just plain dumb...

Oh and resetting all my hard work to get these new achievements is pretty stupid too, once again all my hard work is for nothing...as is this post probably...

i just said in LS yest its BS that a lvl 50 miner is restricted to the same number of drops as a lvl 35. the only thing i see to do now is to mine rare gems and sell them for more so i can buy cobalt. I mined 14 stacks of cobalt over the last 2 days so id have plenty to last me awhile.

I agree, not only does a level 50 get little more than more swings at a node, now with the map a rank 1 miner could go to iron lake and find cobol ore with no issue.

its actually possible to get cobalt from cedar wood at lvl 20,lol. and since the drop rate is no different it wont matter. Like i said the way to go now will be to farm high value things and sell them to buy low value thing if you need. The only reason i farmed cobalt was cause i lvled arm an bls, and because of the abundance of it. If i have the choice between 100 spinels or 100 cobalt ill take the 100 spinels and buy 200 cobalt.

Try being a Botanist/Carpenter lol. Now there is a useless class if ever there was one.

yea i got it,lol, im just as upset as anyone. I personally think stats should determine drop rate, or whats the point of lvling.

I agree with OP. Seems like this dev team actually wants people to lose interest in gathering, leaving it as it was at FFXI, where only bots and RMTs actually gathered outside quests.

I'd hope they would have at least increased the rate at which those items come up at higher grades.

Nothing like swing at the sweet spot at Grade 5 for an hour to walk away with several stacks of Alumen and less than 10 ores.

I just got miner to lvl20 and was planing to work on it until I can mine grade 5 to help fund my armorer. So much for that now.

my only hope is that next set of gathering updates with maps and stuff in 2.0 or whenever thats coming, will actually be useful to be higher level. Once you hit grade 5 do you actually get any different items at all that you couldn't get lower grades?

I really wish they made it like crafting "You are too low to attempt to gather at this location" or something.

boy i just can't seem to pick a winner in this game...spent months leveling up all three DoLs to 50 and completely maxed out inv space and can barely rub two gil together. I feel your pain maestro. Broke and useless. What fun.
