VIT+23, and : DEX+11/MND+11 or DEX+22...Or maybe MND+22, I don't know yet.
mind dex and vit, not sure how ill split it up, you'll get the most noticeable change if you put it all in one stat so i might put it all in dex to raise block rate. But if block rate is real broken still it might not even make a difference.
ARGGHHHH SOOO MANY CHOICESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
/mindblown
Vit +23, Dex +17, Mnd +5. Thats what I'm going with.
VIT+23, DEX+13, MND+9.
about... to hit... apply...! I hope it's ok!
In an effort to notice what the stats actually are DOING for us, I'm being beat down by mobs and trying it point/point.
So far:
1VIT = 1HP
2VIT = -.5 Damage(This is testing, what I did was take 10 hits from lvl 44 mob, recorded, then increased VIT +2, then had him hit me again, I removed the lowest and highest hits, then averaged out. On average I was seeing -.5 damage, but sometimes it was a high average.)
I don't want to say that +2VIT would return a certain mitigation of damage, but this is the only way I can think of to actually measure it.
Dunno, i'm tempted to go :
DEX 23 (Accuracy, Block and Parry)
VIT 15 (Defence and Max HP)
PIE 7 (Magic Evasion and Max MP)
After playing around a bit after the patch last night i found that, WS were missing quite a bit, I'm hoping the added block/parry will be more beneficial than the defence/hp i'd get from maxing VIT and same for Mag eva/Max mp over Healing potency.
Don't forget materia, my current gear is VIT/HP orientated so that will more than make up for the loss of VIT in the stats.
I did quite a bit a testing with various stats last night after logging in. I fought the same monster over and over, the level 50 Ixali outside the gates of Natalan. I largely wanted to determine the differences between STR and MND on auto-attack damage and healing potency. I began with my +28 STR Cobalt Winglet and 3 +7 STR rings, before switching to my +30 MND Cobalt Winglet and 3 +7 MND rings. All other gear remained unchanged.
The easiest thing to test was healing potency. I stood in one spot in passive mode and cast Cure on myself 20 times with each gear set, taking the average of all 20 minus critical cures (of which there was only 1 cast during the STR test). I found that Cures cast with a total of +51 MND were only an average of just under 9HP stronger than those cast with +49 STR. The average Cure with +MND was 459.6 while the average cure with +STR was 450.9.
It was clear that MND and STR grant an equal bonus to Auto-Attack damage. The range of Auto-Attack dmg over the course of 10 battles with STR gear was 123-146 with an average of 137.4, excluding criticals and attacks while the Ixali had sentinel up. The range of Auto-Attack damage over the course of 10 battles with MND Gear was 123-144 with an average of 136.8. The difference is really negligible and the difference is not really statistically significant based on the relatively small sample size. I do think the numbers are enough to say that there is really very little difference between the two stats when It comes to Auto-Attack. Just for comparison, when swapping out to a +29 VIT Cobalt Winglet the range of Auto-Attack damage was 112-135.
The biggest difference between STR and MND came in the form of WS damage. I performed a total of 20 Fast Blades on the same level 50 Ixali. The range of damage with STR gear was 325-346, with an average of 339.1. The range of damage with MND gear was 312-331, with an average of 324.5. So STR gear was responsible for approximately a 15 point difference in WS damage.
In the end, it came down to a choice between higher HP cured or higher WS dmg. Obviously, these tests are based on relatively low sample sizes and there is some margin for random statistical error, but I believe that the results would remain fairly close based on a more extensive test.
After reading that I am thinking maybe 23 VIT and 22 DEX.
I did 20dex 20vit 5mnd.
I tend to miss a lot on mobs that is level 59. I might put more into DEX when I get a chance.
I did 23 vit , 17 dex, 5 str
Good work Fraenir.
So, it seems like it would be better to dump points into VIT and DEX and load up on STR/MND gear.
Nice work, I believe I am going 20VIT/20DEX/5MND also on mine. It seems to be the best way to go.
I did like most of you , 23VIT/22DEX , but regarding the patch notes they advise MND/STR o_O

but damage means more enmity. Survivability vs enmity ? Given the tests with STR and MND and the low return , I'd stick to VIT/DEX then. I would have gone VIT/MND if the MND really improved the cure effect, which seems not to be the case.
I went DEX over MND for more shield blocking
I whored out Piety then split the remainder into STR and MND. I figure, I am on GLA for tanking, not damage potential. And while I have many skills against physical attacks, I only have Decoy to use against Magic damage.
With 1 VIT = 1 HP and
With 1 MND = 1 MP
I focused on Piety for the Magic Evasion.
I went full on VIT and DEX. While Damage does help with Enmity generation, being able to block more often and take overall less damage has more advantages. One, mage's cure less often helping them keep enmity down, two for the times mages cannot cure (such as running from Ifrit's Eruption) you have increased survivability until they have the opportunity too, and three since the overall damage is reduced (from more VIT and increased blocking) your enmity loss is much lower.
