I've been playing PvP.

I have to say, the new system they implemented for it made it *A LOT* more enjoyable. Been playing Feast all day, at most 3 min queue's.

While I would like to progress with the story just as much as any other person would at this point, there is still plenty left to do to keep yourself busy. I'll be farming PvP for the new folklore PvP sets, since the caster ones look awesome. Hell, you can even go level crafters or what not.

Side note:
At the time I'm posting this it's *way* past prime time on Behemoth and it's still crowded near Raubahn.

I agree, the new pvp system is MUCH superior.

At first, I was confused "what happened to my skills!? Oh no, I need to set this all up again!" and then I realized that pve and pvp actions are fully independent now.
Absolutely loved the pvp. And will continue to love it further! Good work Yoshida and team, major improvement!

As an avid PvPer, PvP definitely feels more fun. I feel like some classes need some rebalancing to be viable in future ranked seasons but hopefully they will be more active with balancing now that its separate.

is this still a thing? There is 2 people standing there now and my server isn't one of the quiet ones.

On Excalibur there's like 100 people on each instance for the fringes (there's 3 of them) just standing there at Raubahn. It's not getting solved any time soon. There's 250 or so people in each instance.

On the plus side, both the RDM and SAM job quests quit crashing people out of the game. So you can go do those now if you haven't.

Also I was trying to to PotD and it's crashed me out of the game, so I nope'd out of that for now. Too many RDM and SAM parties, haha.

New PVP is so much faster and more enjoyable. The skills finally make sense in a PVP context (rather than having to be adapted and changed) and it's fairly obvious from the get-go what you should be doing with each job. Whereas before I never would have bothered to learn more than one job for the sake of PVP, I can definitely see myself doing that now.

loving the new pvp so far, haven't tried 4v4 preseason yet though. Nice Job!

New PvP is absolutely fantastic! I'm seriously loving it now. Kinda confused the heck out of me at first, not gonna lie, but I figured it out pretty quick on the dummies in the Wolves Den.

I may have to try PvP some this expac. I did frontlines for the Makai Machinist title, but that was effectively chaos with everyone running around like headless chickens, and I'm still not entirely sure what you do in there. Haven't tried Feast at all, but I imagine it's a lot more understandable with the smaller groups.

Started PvPing again after a year or two of not bothering, and man is it far more enjoyable. While I cannot speak for any other jobs, RDM just feels satisfying to use, which should be the point of PvP: it feels good when you rush in on your target, land your melee combo, flip back, and blast them away with verflare or verholy. I do wish that I get more than Shatter for Frontlines roulette, though. I remember enjoying Secure a lot back in the day.

I burned out on pvp doing the relic, if i never see it again it will too soon. What i want is new story, not pvp, and i can't do that because of this stupid design.

It's also worth noting that you get quite a bit of exp doing Frontline now, so it's good for leveling jobs as well. And even though it's still a bit early to say, I think PvP is a lot more enjoyable the way it is now.
