[dev1206] AoE changes

So Cone-based AoE is dead. Meanwhile, Circular AOE is broader.

Is this good or bad? I'm of two minds, but what does everyone else think?

i just hope the Aoe circle is increased, before it was way too small. i'll miss my cone thou

I will miss conal AoE.

Conal AOE was good in that it made THM and CNJ more unique from each other. This provided variety, a good thing.

Furthermore, conal AOE is good for nuking, and since THM is an offensive mage, it helped a lot.

I remember the days of conal-aoe Sacrifice. <3

The only thing i liked about conal is that it will hit myself regardless, but if the broaden circular area is a big improvement, i should be ok with it.

I hated the differences. Mainly do to the crappy abilities that effected your radius and distance. Too much clutter

I definitely preferred the cone aoe and its range vs. the circular aoe (and the fact that the spell doesn't hit you if you cast on someone far off).

I am happy to see Cone gone. I much prefer this.

I prefer circular as well, I find its easier to tell the area its going to hit

I will also miss conal due to the range and also being included in the AoE. Conal was alot more effective than circular so far in XIV, but we'll have to see how broad the circular AoE turns out to be in the future. I like variety, but SE has already committed to this oversimplification ideal, this is just yet another prong in that pedastal.

I agree, thats one of the benefits I really liked with the conal AoE

Yup only thing I liked about it was buffing the party mid battle.

It's only bad under a certain situation, if no one stands together... which happens often.

The circular area better be enormous to make up the distance.

I do miss the Conal AoE but my latest problem now is having absolutely no clue on how to toggle a single target or AoE spell *facepalms*

Having spent some time with it so far, I can say I don't miss it and that it plays much better. :)
