22.7gb update after relogging?

For some reason the ps4 client wanted me to download a 22.7gb patch named ffxiv-H2017.06.06.0000.0001a after i logged out due to a power outage and tried logging back in.

are my files corrupted or something? seems a bit extreme for an update..

I had the same issue just now. Power went out and after I logged on, boom update. Unfortunately with my internet it'll take 700 minutes, which is making me fairly frustrated. Not to mention I have an awful feeling in my stomach that it will force me to redownload every patch again too...which should finish around the end of eatly access.

Same issue here on my PS4, I was playing then had a power outage and now the launcher is re-downloading the whole game patches again, even though I already downloaded it all yesterday after I had to delete the game and reinstall it due to the launcher issue.

I submitted a ticket thing but seeing how its expansion day....

I'm kinda bumping this but I should also mention my version update is H2017.06.06.0000.0001c, not 0001a like TC.

Wanting to post that the exact same thing just happened to my wife. The power flickered and suddenly shes having to download a 22.7 gb 'update'

This just happened to me! Absolutely fuming!! 3 hours til this done! Then will have to do all the patches again!! Not happy at all! All because my power went out!?!? Please tell me someone has a fix for this so i can get back to spamming X on raubahn!

Yup, this is our morning as well. Power flickered and have the 22.7gb update. Started as OP's patch then .0001b, .0001c, etc. On the last 22 minutes now and really hoping it's not going to be any other issue than the login queue boss. Like others, paranoid I'm going to be waiting all this time just to have to reinstall

You aint missing much. Servers are so congested, i can barely login among doing other things.

Did it finish yet? Is that it or is it going redownload every patch aswell?...

I've been on all day not got past raubahn extreme yet XD but hit 63 half way through fron fates and roulettes was doing 50/60 roulette and power went out came back went to log back on and BOOM 22gb update outta nowhere...

2 hours later and I am 5gbs in. 17.5 left. Also my patch changed to 0001d and I have 530 minutes remainiing : ))))))))))))

I got 100 minutes left... hopefully this is it and I can't queue up and get back on the grind

It finished, put me in queue and finally logged in so at the very least, that should be it

Mine has changed to 0001i now

I am having the exact same problem! Except with mine, I went over to a friend's house yesterday to download on their wifi since mine will take upwards of 700 minutes, and it seems fine, it even let me play the game over there, but when I took the ps4 home, the game acted as though I had never downloaded anything and is giving me the same patch everyone else, and I'm afraid this will only continue. Please help, this is absolutely infuriating.

I am having the same occurrence on my end too with my PS4. Power went out in the middle of a battle and now I have a large 22.7 patch update running when I try to log back in. Would this have to do with then PS4 rebuilding its database after powering off incorrectly due to power surge??

I've just had this issue after I lost power at my place, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Did the game work okay for everyone after the download was completed?

This happen to me moments ago. This never happen to me before. My life will be redownloading the game every time my energy shuts down?

Seems a lot of people on Reddit are having this issue too. Hopefully it's acknowledged and fixed. I still have 3 more hours until it's finished downloading, needless to say I am quite salty today. And worried it will happen again...and I'll have to wait another 11 hours to play.

Confirming that everything seems to be functioning normally after the download, save expected expansion day queues and boots.

Samething happened to me now I'm having to download 22 gigs wow

Please let us know if it ends up working out for you, Im on my fourth time having to try re downloading the entire thing :/

I've got the same problem on my ps4 and currently downloading the "22gb" thing for the 2nd times...
No blackout or power outage though.
Just normally log out , take a break then return and after successfully log in .. it force me to download again.

Chiming in to say this is happening to me too. It's 24 hours after the expansion hit (well, minus 30 mins - currently 4:30am edt) and this isn't fixed yet. I was logged in, power went out suddenly and stayed out for half an hour, and when I tried to log back in my PS4 informs me First Time Setup and starts downloading a file named H2017.06.06.0000.0001a that's goddamn 22749.42MB big!!

It obviously has the game downloaded and installed already, I checked my HDD space and nothing's changed. No missing data. This is bull****. :(

Lovely... it choked on the download after 10 minutes, errored out, and I logged back in to try again. This time the file is called H2017.06.06.0000.0001b and is 21319.31MB big.

Anyone else have this happen? WTH is going on?

From my experience, the letter at the end of the file changes from a all the way to j. 10 letters, I believe one is for all of the major content patches, because after that "ex1" is added to the file, and later "ex2." So for some reason it's downloading the entire expansion plus all the patches, if I'm right. Regardless, it still doesn't explain why is redownloads in client every single time we try to log in.

All right,just now,it's forced me to download "22Gb" again .. for the 3rd times.

This is horrible. It took me 11 hours yesterday to download rhe 22gbs. So at that rate I can play every other day.

Yeah,at this point it's not funny anymore.I can't even get to that "Raubhan's instance" people were talking about because I have to wait for this stupid download almost everytime I logged in.

Gets even better when everyone else is unlocking dungeons and areas and posting pics or talking bout it and we are just sat here staring at a download screen, I got to play maybe an hour last night properly due to the instance rubbish and now I've got an 6-7 hour download to sit though while every steams ahead with the content, SE needs to sort this out.

Any answers to our problem please?

Didn't lose power, just went to work. Came back the next day, and...

H2017.06.06.0000.0001x (x changes depending on download)

...starts downloading. It failed to download once, and I had to start over.
It acts like the launcher doesn't recognize the files, so it redownloads a different version. I've seen it up to "i", but not sure if it's a generated numeric or a static, separate file. It's not a issue our side, fortunately - has to be a launcher glitch.

Can someone from the team tell us something about it?
My life for now on will be redownloading the game every time my energy cuts out? I never got this on Heavensward... This is ridiculous...

I really hope we get some word on this, or some kind of fix really soon, because this has rendered the early access useless to us, what a waste of money pre ordering..

Is ps4 a theme? Most people set their systems to retain their last tab and remain connected, in rest mode. My thought is that this preserves the game state, and keeps it "right". When power surges/outages happened (seems to be the variable) it "looses it's place" so to speak, and thinks it needs to redownloads due to a recognization error in the launcher (yes, i blame the launcher).

Best bet, even though it's not a solution you can control if power is an issue, is not to turn off your system once you update the new files again.

I've never left my PS4 on rest mode all throughout HW and ARR, I've had my power go out (We use a meter we need to top up) multiple times while playing in the past, and never had an issue like this, it's all started after the recent Launcher updates on PS4, first with the issue of people not being able to open it unless they deleted and re downloaded everything, and now this.

I'm really not sure what's going on to cause such a weird issue.
