Who could've though that Fr evening with stormblood early access there could be a surge of players.

MSQ is totally broken and SE are ignoring the issue completely. I'd say congestion will be higher than usual because no on is able to get past the 4th MSQ with out spamming the NPC for hours.
been waiting 2 hours 1796 players in the queue not going down at all
I'm sorry because I know some will disagree with me, but at times like these they should really initiate an auto-afk kick after a certain time period. While it's not the main issue, it probably isn't helping anything not having one right now. They can remove it again after the congestion subsides. /shrug ...I don't know, just a thought. :D
I'd really like to be a fly on the wall to see what - if anything - is currently being done.
Edit: sometimes I really do wonder if they live in a bubble unable to foresee something as trivial as a player rush at the start of the weekend at the beginning of early access. Or gating MSQ which leads to overload on their instance servers.
if you was on earlier you would of wasted almost 3 hours anyway waiting for them to fix the issue with duty finder which was BS and would of been held back from doing certain quests too cos of it. whats really screwed up is that you're actively playing then ctd and have to deal with the queue issue.
you can easily fool it by making a macro though
If you're wondering if the MSQ and Duty Finder issues are being addressed, then try checking the Lodestone website. They've posted updates on the issue and have issued temporary fixes to the problem. Those on more congested servers are going to have a harder time of it than those on less congested servers. They are very clearly aware of the issue and are attempting to resolve it. They are not ignoring it.
My game crashed during a cutscene and now I'm stuck in an infinite queue to log back in... For fear of getting kicked out again as soon as I get back in I'm gonna skip all the cutscenes... I don't mind the crash, bugs are expected but they could have suspended the free trials at least for the first 2 weeks to reduce at least a bit these queues...
This morning it took me around 30 mins to get in from a queue just over 2500. Went to make dinner and got booted same position in a queue around 2556 nearly two hours later it is just under 1000.
And yet here on the Whale that is balmung its less then 700 in que and still get in just over 5min
Server Full
Why you don't do anything? You know the problem, and you solution is basically freeze the queue and don't let it advance? I still in queue after 45 minutes, and this not going anywhere. When I finally enter I probably I have to log out for the night. Are you telling me the server cannot manage 1000 player logins in less than 10 minutes?
What's the point on a early access if you won't let player log in? I can understand long queues that are descending little by little. But not when they are just freeze and didn't move at all.
Sorry, just a little rant.
2166 in queue....after 25 minutes waiting.....how fun :D
While they may well also have a limit on how many new connections the system can accept per second/minute, it would have only been the major issue during the first few minutes after the system came up, because after that it's hitting a different limit. They can only have a certain number of players on at a given time. Once the server is full, then spots only open up for more players to log in when someone else logs out. That's when it can get really slow sometimes. :(
1114 now....we are steaming ahead... o.O
