Still happening despite the above message.
RIP DPS queues if the SAM/RDM wave catches up.
Thanks SE for not expecting that every fucking one wants to do the MSQ
the worst part is they havent even acknowledged this issue lol
Yup still a problem despite the announcement that it's fixed.
Nah the screw up was having a solo instance this early. They did the same thing with HW where they split the questline on two paths so that it wouldn't be congested, but by adding in this instance, they undermined the whole reason for the making the MSQ take 2 paths in the first place.
really need to up the solo instance limit instead of dividing up the over world.
It's not like SE has been making MMOs for 15 years and has a lot of experience in the field... oh wait...
It would have been nice if they had built a queue for solo instance. I wouldn't mind hanging around for 30+ minutes if I knew I'd have my chance to do it at the end. Instead everyone is spamming the NPC desperately, and the bottleneck is only getting worse.
They also have a NM and a FATE spawn right on top of the NPC which also isn't helping.
* Currently, players progressing through the main story quest of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood are unable to enter instances battles due to it reaching its limit of players allowed. Due to this, players are asked to wait until a player leaves an instanced area before they are able to enter.
While we have plenty of instances available, to prevent a heavy load on the servers, we are currently limiting the number of players that can enter at a time. If you are unable to enter an instance, we recommend waiting and trying again at a later time.

I love how they want us to hold off when its only going to gradually get worse.
I wish they would have just set up a q like previous posters had said.
Been talking to the MSQ NPC for 2 hours, time to give up and go nap. Don't think it'll be better when I get up but what else can ya' do? It seems SE isn't going to fix the problem.
Same. If they are going to throttle the instances that's cool, but there is no order for people who have been here for hours. It's free for all spam/luck to get through.
So is Square Enix going to compensate players for this given that it's only going to get worse? Or just auto complete the quest for all players? Something has to be done about this, or most of the players won't ever be able to complete the MSQ.
Meanwhile in Balmung:

Ugh
Why didn't they at least put in a queue for it. Now you've gotta get extremely lucky, or wait for hours.
Will get worse on the 20th
The lack of a queue system is really upsetting. This is basically a free for all spam click scenario. RIP Lv.70 by dinner.
This same thing happened early on in MSQ during 2.0 launch. Can't understand how they didn't see it coming.
It is not surprising TBH. Game launches are always rough and there are bugs that are missed. I am more surprise you are surprised.
We tried to form a line on Lamia and it's done nothing but make people complain.
This wouldn't be so irritating if all they did was treat it like an actual Duty Finder instance, with a visible queue. I don't even know if that's possible, but hell, if it is, it sure would help.
Its just going to get worse after 5pm, if it is not fixed by then.
Coeurl is giving the line thing a shot

It's not going well.
This really makes me doubt they actually do a stress test/UAT on this kind of stuff...
This is the first time that I've gotten in on an expansion in an MMO on the opening day. Every day time, I've come in weeks or months later. It's for this reason that I completely missed the Mists of Pandaria expansion on WoW back in the day. And you know what? This whole situation is a very good cautionary tale to never ever try that again. Think I'm just gonna give up for a time and play something else.
I don't get why they can't just put a queue system in place ;x
Are they really just content to leave things like this? Did they really just say GG with their "temporary countermeasure" and think that this was good enough
The chat makes up for it. The salt sustains me.
