Rip instance server

Imagine everyones having issues getting into their duty at the moment. :(

Also, can't even get past the cutscene for RDM quest - it just kicks you out.

Pretty typical SE right here. I wanted to believe the game would playable on expansion release, but they always prove me wrong. If anything, at least they are consistent in being a disappointment.

It isn't release though, it's early access.

It's annoying yes. if only because Square assumes that people arent going to swarm the servers the moment they are active.

Woot I got Samurai.....aaaannnd I can't do the job quest. Thanks SE.

To be fair the Heavensward Early Access and Launch were pretty bad. Stormblood is stable yet no one can do ANYTHING except grind FATES.

Expansion content was released. Sometimes words have multiple meanings. The "Early Access" has been early access to nearly nothing.

At this point, may as well take the servers offline. A huge portion of the game is not available and surely it would make fixing the issue easier.

First they need to know exactly why the problems occur, before they can make a fix. Gathering data for that is much easier if the servers are online.

True. Just makes me think that the longer the servers are up, the longer they will be down to fix said issue.

You do realise people play parts of the game that arn't Stormblood right? i.e new players/characters? They're not affected by this.

Early Access is code for Beta Test...

Solo instances and duties are not working, both of which are required to progress within the story and your character. I'm confused how you think this doesn't affect them.

Yeah, even non-stormblood instances are down

All we can do it wait patiently. I would have thought they would have been more aware of this issue due to heavensward same issue in access. But oh well. nap time :)

what i think they should do for major updates or expansions like this is dont tell anyone when the server will be up just randomly open it and have them figure it out themselves so the servers arent hammered right off the bat and maybe for launch lower the amount of worlds each duty finder server grabs from temporarily

That wouldn't fix a thing, same number of people would still be trying to access DF content whether its solo or group. Would probably die anyways.

is the duty finder down for all data centers or just aether?

the problem will be even worst since the msq is gated by a solo instance. when every single player needs that same quest to advance, the servers will be destroyed again.

this is intentional as usual as they dont want people to be too far ahead before main launch :)

At this point they really need to bring the game down to fix what they need to fix.

The issue is they gated EVERYTHING in the instances. SAM/RDM/MSQ and then wonder what happens when the flood hits the servers.

you really think they wouldnt have fixed this already if they wanted ? :p

No. Lets face it, this is release. Early access you're talking about is the games on steam that never come out of early access and use it as an excuse as to why they don't work properly. They had 24 hour maintenance to sort this out, not to mention server upgrades and plenty more time to prepare and they still broke it. Which is fine as they are working on it, but please don't come in here and say "its not release its early access".

What irritates me the most is that took a day off for this crap >.>

Agreed. If things weren't gated like that there would be no issue, however fates appear to be the only thing DoW can do at this point.

This is really annoying. Least you can do it give us updates SE.
