Mateus could certainly use some fresh meat, it's a skeleton.

Hello! Not a refugee from Balmung but Gilgamesh. It's nice to meet all of you.

I may join you guys here. Not sure yet since my friend's fc is considering moving off Balmung.

How's the que time? :O

So far, the queue time seems to be between 1-2 secs.

I've never been on one of the big servers in this particular game but i've been playing MMOs a while and Mateus seems far from "dead" or a skeleton.

When I was last on today, I dc trying to get into a dungeon. I tried to do a free transfer and it wont let me as I am considered to be in an instance. I have been in queue for 55 mins and still at 1196 left.

Transferred earlier today and haven't had any problems logging in. It's also nice to see the same people and faces running around, and not just hoards of people.

I'll probably be joining Mateus very soon. There isn't any point to being on a server that has an hour+ queue time when the player in question only has a couple hours a night to play. I'll miss the familiarity of my old server, but I'm sure I'll get used to the new one soon enough.

Welcome to Mateus. The people here are very helpful and friendly. I never considered it a skeleton and always enjoy seeing familiar names/faces.:)

*waves* My monk is a Balmung refugee! I used to belong to an RP FC way back, but life ate me for awhile so I suspended my sub. Now I'm back and am immersing myself again, so I figured I'd take advantage of the free transfer for a fresh start! ^^ Hiya!

Mateus has already proven to be better than Blamung's community. The literally NO QUE log in and the people are fantastic. Randomly had a few people in the peaks party up to take a hunt on and it was super hard but hell of a good time.

Mateus is AWESOME!!!

My FC is considering a transfer, and frankly it's been long overdue. I personally am exhausted with Ballywood and its teeny-bopper drama.

My biggest criticism of Balmung is that considering how big it is, it certainly feels so small; meet the same faces, hear the same type of drama and complaints, considerably cliquish (which is unfortunate)--it would be so very refreshing to meet new people in a new place with new opportunities.

The biggest worry we have though is if a community will be existent. We are roleplayers first, and ideally want to meet/recruit other roleplayers. Once the new x-pac smell wears off, will there be people to do things with?

I hope more consider transferring, I hope to meet more and share in experiences, but any place described as a 'skeleton' seems a bit daunting considering I'm leaving such a populated place with people to provide incentive to upkeep markets and craft and the like.

Myself, and my friends, just transferred to Mateus from Balmung today :)

We will be starting a Free Company that's open for both gameplay and roleplay.

I am looking forward to meeting some of the community here! :)

My friend and I are considering coming over here. Does any one know the housing situation. We'd love to be able to at least get one!

There are some open plots in gridania and ul'dah, none in limsa though :( and last time i checked all the kurogane housing plots were still open lol. Of course these things change by the hour so if you want one grab one fast.

Well the Kugane housing isn't available yet so there's a reason those aren't taken yet.

On the subject of housing it actually made me happy that there's actually some available here. I came over here with my gf from Gilgamesh and really looking forward to getting a house in either Ul'Dah or Kugane.

How are hunts on Mateus? Can a person find a willing militia of hunters on a moments notice or does it take time to put together a group?

A few of my friends and I came over from Balmung as well, we Rp as well as do dungeons. There are still some houses available and I'm sure a few more will open up again as things settle down. Serverwise, if you are thinking of making the change, do it!

My girlfriend and I are considering transferring from Balmung to Mateus and we were wondering how the RP/ERP community is. (yes we are a couple of pervs :3 ))

My wife and I are making the move today! For the second time I was D/C'd just to be put in a 4,000 Que that takes like 3 hours to get through. After the second d/c I nearly gave up but FINALLY we got to do some questing and boom...my wife just d/c'd about an hour ago just to hit log-in and see another 4,000+ Que. Absolutely will take 4 hours at minimum. Seriously we started playing during early Access and between RL, Cold steel, and the ridiculous Que times, we are halfway through 63 just finishing the first Primal and second dungeon today...Insane. So, hopefully we can find a nice friendly FC when we get over lol ^_^

I'm thinking about making the move as well, how is the community on this server?

I've been thinking about it too! I've made an alt and been asking around and looking at the population, both during peak hours and off... I'm kind of worried that the RP community will die off in a month, if that's what you're wondering. I've also heard the sentiment that it's transient--like most people will move back to Balmung when the walls are lifted.

I'm not trying to badmouth the server or anything, but these are genuine concerns. I really do want to get outta Balmung, but I'm too much of a roleplaying scumbag to go somewhere that doesn't have a solid community.

Just moved and the community is very nice and rp friendly. I have had no problems with Fate groups or hunts. Longest queue was 6 ppl- way better than the 4K long queue for over 4 hours just to get disconnected on Balmung.

Balmung refugee here. BF came along too. I've never really RP'd in FFXIV yet (but have in others) and wouldn't mind making some friends :) Hezrou Dhiaga

Hi guys, Las here! Also transferring from Balmung. Originally from Lamia. Glad to have some elbow room again. The only thing that concerns me is I haven't seen anyone doing any fates in some of the new areas. Well, with time hope more new faces pop up to fix that

Mateus also has a few players (myself included) that transferred from Balmung at the start of ARR when the queus were bad then. Mateus has a rich history associated with Balmung!

Hunts are very active. I've seen over 50 people at a single hunt recently.

Another Balmung Refugee~ I'm glad I decided to look into the preferred worlds for transferring into. This was the most active out of the others i'd looked into :) look forward to seeing you in game!

Big thanks to Balmung and Square Enix. Ever since ending up on the "preferred" world list, Mateus has really had a big lesson in exactly why we liked it small and "dead". what I wouldn't give for all of these people to go back where they came from and let Mateus be the same Mateus it was 2 months ago.

You know, I have seen a couple of posts from you now, doing nothing but whine and cringe at the thought of change. This thread was rather positive until you had to voice your judgement. I'll be sure to avoid you in game, and if you're just as unpleasant there as you are here, they'll be a ticket with your name on it.

Hello! Transferred here shortly from Balmung after SB came out, along with my husband. A few others from our FC also moved, or at least moved some alts that they like to play as well. I can't speak for the others but my husband and I very much like Mateus, and are hoping to get a small house for our characters when Shirogane opens up. Glad to be here with you lovely folks!
