This caught my attention.
Who the Warrior of Light actually is... Yoshi-p plsQuote:
Gamer Escape: We’ve been dealing with the Ascians for a long time now… are we ever going to get an ending to that story arc? Or is that the story of Final Fantasy XIV that will maybe conclude with an end of service?
Yoshida: We haven’t actually clearly decided on how we’ll bring a resolution to the Ascian arc. I don’t think we need to hold it until the end of service however. Having the arc for them end and finding out about Zodiark or the secret behind Hydaelyn or who the Warrior of Light actually is… even if we did reveal all that and have closure, it’s still not the end of the story. We can always make more expansions, maybe we’ll go to Vana’diel or something like that- “Return to Vana’diel” (laughs)

I believe that anyone who loves classic Final Fantasy will really enjoy this content.

"there is a new system/mechanic called “Content Action” where it is a specific mechanic to the content you are playing. Any member of your party can perform this action, but it is specific to the content in Stormblood."
; ; dont play with my feelings YoshiQuote:

*SPOILERS*
I am the Warrior of Light.
At least that's what I've been lead to believe(that other guy from the intro's is just a Captain Placeholder meant to represent our player character, the real hero of Eorzea)
I'll admit, even though people hate when FFXI is mentioned here, seeing "Return to Vana'diel" made me giddy ^^
I'd be happy for a future expansion that takes us to Vana'diel, it was a great world with good music and interesting mobs, ultimately it was let down by some poor mechanics, namely all the time sinks. Vana'diel in an FFXIV would be fantastic (and maybe I could get the FFXI style of DRG and RDM AF!).
Next expansion : return to vanadiel, Level cap to 75, new merit point system ! :p
New combat system: No more ALEA, fight strong ennemies in group in the new zone named: Valkurm's Dunes !
I would as well. I enjoyed FFXI in it Vanilla days, it's community, open world content, music, lore and lots more. Plus if we do go to Vana'diel, this leaves things open for new jobs with lore from those areas to back it up, such as BLU, DNC, etc.
Just imagine taking your FFXIV character to fight a new version of the Shadow Lord controlled and revived by the Ascians. ^^
I am waiting to see how long it take people to start complaining that they only finished relic because they assumed it would start you a step ahead in the Stormblood relic quests.
I admit if they redid ffxi and updated too today's graphic standard ect I would go back and play it....
Honestly this would really put me off. FF11 is a fine game and has a fine story and world but I prefer FF14 as a world and game to stand on its own rather than relying on nostalgia and skipping to other FF game worlds.
FF14 needs to stand on its own as a Final Fantasy game and story rather than relying on old FF titles to prop it up.
I would love it if they tied Vana'diel to FFXIV. It would be a dream come true. There's so much they could do with that.
Thing is yoshi has said more then once Ffxiv in a way is an amusement park of older ff games as well as its own title.
An ffxi expansion eventually would be cool. I'm torn between this and actually... beating the damn empire after all these years -.-
Honestly it's stand alone, optional expansion where all the hardcores can squeak and throw themselves back into tortuous content like 24 hour spawn nms would be nice XD
I doubt that a FF11 themed expansion would have actual FF11 themed gameplay. It would be a FF14 expansions set in a FF11 setting. Also what is an optional expansion exactly? Does that mean people not interested get something else? That seems unlikely. FF14 makes a lot of references to older Final Fantasy games but it still needs to stand as its own game. Even the Ivalice stuff we are getting is going to be like the Crystal Tower and Doma, a reference rather than the actual thing. I also think they need to make sure they establish FF14 as its own FF game rather than just a pile of references. Its a numbered FF game after all. Its got to establish its own identity at least to some extent.
I am pretty neutral on the relic thing. I have a pile of Lux weapons now so a head start would have probably encouraged me to leap all in. However if I am starting from scratch I will probably only do one weapon this time round and stick to that unless one of the other weapon appearances really appeals to me. I do feel a bit sorry for the Anima since it will journey with us for 5 levels then spend the rest of it's existence gathering dust on a shelf.
Does this mean roe's will find out how they lost their tails??
We have a running history of being unmerciful, murderous monsters. Gray morality and all that...

I wish that Yoshi-P is able to expand in the world of Vana'diel sometime.
In terms of my ffxi comment, I was half joking. I was only making fun of ffxi fans (me being one granted) desire to see ffxi elements back in. Not as relevant now but when this game first came out everyone was trying to raise the difficulty and elements to ffxi standards.
I meant an optional continent within the game for those hardcore players to live out their nightmare fantasies lol while the rest of the players chill and do w.e else.
Again a joke...ish >.>
Dang it, we were dead all along. We were in the proverbial Tir Na Nog (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C3%ADr_na_n%C3%93g ) or Ryūgū-jō ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ry%C5%ABg%C5%AB-j%C5%8D.)
